I have stayed on-campus at UTD with University Village for almost 5 years now in their 4×4, 2×2, and single bedroom, and I have been very satisfied with their services. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the maintenance team responds quick! I have put in many ranges of work orders, from my trash disposal not working to replacing my window blinds, and all the orders were taken care of within 3 days. Furthermore, they notify you quickly if a package has arrived at their office the day of. Before I moved into my one-bedroom, I specifically requested the phase number and to be «closer to campus» and they honored the request pretty well. The only downside is the increase in prices and some dumb rules. I used to be part of Waterview, an older leasing office before University Village bought them out, and they were much cheaper for the 1-bedroom apartments. However, I used to pay for my own internet, water, and cable, and now UV covers all of the utilities(with the exception of electricity). Also, don’t expect anyone to help you carry large packages back to your apartment, because apparently it’s a «liability» to do so. Overall, I plan on staying with them as long as I’m a student at UTD!

The maintenance team is really nice and they’re pretty quick to respond to work orders. The 4×4 has a tiny kitchen and now the bathrooms dont have locks on them :/I do like the apartments better than the freshman dorms though because its easier to study and cook.

They sent a letter to my door saying that I owed $ 800. I’m pretty on top of my finances, and I knew that there was no way I owed $ 800. So I went to their office and demanded to speak to someone about this outrageous bill. The staff there told me I’d have to speak to their accountant. So, I went to see their accountant. The accountant was extremely disorganized. I don’t hate on disorganized people, but if your job is in accounting and keeping track of money, you better be organized. I told the accountant that there was a mistake and wanted to know why I was being charged $ 800. He pulled up some documents on his computer and then said«my bad, you don’t owe $ 800.» My bad? You don’t just say«my bad» about an $ 800 mistake. I can’t believe how careless University Village is, and I can’t imagine how many other students have been mistakenly billed a ridiculous amount.
