Just had Tuna with a mustard glaze and fiddleheads. This was one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere! Fantastic. My compliments to chef Dave.

3rd time here and 3rd time getting horrible service. Sat here for 15 minutes without anyone coming over. And it wasn’t very busy. Didn’t get any refills. Food took forever to get here. I gave them to two stars because their food is actually very good. Huge kudos to the chef.

We were there as a Chamber of Commerce event with about 50 guests. Chef Dave was fantastic, he came out and addressed the grpup. He explained the restaurants concept and processes. They served several of their top apps and desserts. Wow, people were really impressed. I know I will be returning soon!

Just had dinner here(Friday night). Let me break it down… 1. Valet parking: totally unnecessary for the area and was honestly annoying. Probably a deal breaker on coming back. 2. Seating: some guy came up to us, maybe the owner, and asked if he could help us but then said he couldn’t help for seating for two… with a half empty dining room. 3. Drinks: make sure you know what you want, they give you a list of liqueurs they have but no menu of cocktails. 4. Food: we ordered burgers, mostly because $ 30 for an entrée is crazy, I’m not in the city. Our food was good but again we didn’t venture far off the menu. 5. Bring singles: you should tip that valet driver that drove your car a whole 5 feet.

my husband & i had a great meal here last night! we took reccommendations from our waitress when we were deciding between options and her advice didn’t steer us wrong. We started with waygu beef sliders which were excellent. My husband had a ribeye which was very well prepared & I ordered the short rib, which had good flavor & was not dry. the smoked polenta & brussel sprouts complimented it well. The dessert options looked a little underwhelming but we shared a skillet cookie, which was perfect size for two to share. I also had a perfect glass of chianti and my husband enjoyed some of his favorite beers. We were seated in the bar room, which was loud, but we didn’t mind it. Looks like a fun patio to check out in warmer weather!

After discovering what Foie Gras is. I will not eat at your restaurant or recommend to anyone. The production of this fatty duck liver is one of the worst I’ve seen. I advise everyone who doesn’t know what it is just Google Hudson Valley foie gras. Shame on your restaurant for serving this. If you do take it off the menu I would give your place another try. I hope you take it off the menu.

First timers and looking for a local haunt, this won’t be it. Nice atmosphere. Updated décor. Tables in the bar area were held for hours for«reservations». Hope they’re worth it. Had to sit at the bar and we were asked to move a few times because of pretentious clientele. Not asked, told. Worse than the prices and food, the other people that were there. Service started out SLOW. Food eh. Poutine, inedible. Drinks $$$. Just ok. Which makes me sad to say, because I was hopeful.

I had an excellent experience at 59 Almshouse. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the grilled wings, the short ribs, flat breads, crab cakes, edamame, sliders. The owner Michael is a gracious host and his Head Chef Dave is equally as nice. The ambience is rustic modern. The bar area is amazing with a nice selection of draft beers. The wait staff is prompt and attentive. Debbie was our waitress and she was a real pro !!! Five Stars can’t wait to come back !!!

I checked out 59 Almshouse on a friends recommendation and was definitely not disappointed! From beginning to end my experience was spectacular! The earthy, yet modern décor is both appealing and an excellent representation of the restaurant’s farm to table theme. The staff is welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable. As a beer lover(particularly IPAs) I was impressed with the diverse selection of brews, they had Nugget Nectar, enough said! The food is creative, without pretension, and as delicious as it is aesthetically pleasing! Honestly, it was hard to decide, as I wanted to try every dish! Appetizers:(All highly recommended) Rock Shrimp Mac and Cheese Poutine Short Rib Flatbread Entrées(Great choices) Seared Scallops Rib Eye Crab Cakes Desserts(Don’t skip) Chocolate Lover’s Dream Chocolate Skillet Cookie I could go on, but it’s easier to find out for yourself! Just go, you’ll thank me!

Every single thing that was brought to our table was overcooked. Waitress and manager were apologetic, but this is the first and last time we visit.

We stopped here not knowing what to expect and it was delicious! The whole staff was great, the food was amazing and the ambiance was perfect. The bar area was very cozy and there was also a dinning room for a more intimate experience. We had crab cakes, halibut and tuna steak all cooked to perfection! For dessert I recommend the hot chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream(from Tanner Bros) and Nutella drizzle, so good. I will definitely be back soon and am excited for the outdoor bar when the weather gets warmer. Try making a reservation on a Friday or Saturday because it gets crowded. Try it, you will be glad you did!

We had the Bacon Sampler. It stopped the conversation as we slowly chewed on the best bacon ever. Now the place was loud as we were in the bar area but it didn’t deter our conversation. My date has gluten allergies and the sous chef came out and talked with her for about 5 minutes of the different options for each course. The attention given was awesome! She felt at ease and comfortable. I had the braised short ribs with a polenta cake and brussel sprouts(With bacon!). One of the best meals I’ve had.

Had dinner here 3 weeks ago food good a little over priced. Service was very slow but new waitress. Spent 150 dollars there last night for 4 course New Years dinner. What a waste of money. Food was so so. It reminded me of why I don’t go out New Years for dinner. Owner was making rounds in dining room only 4 tables at the time stopped at 3 but not ours very poor customer service on his part. The only good thing to come out at dinner last night was our waitress Tammy was wonderful. Will not go here again

First time at 59. Boy were we disappointed! The food was poor and overpriced. I had the gnocchi which had good flavor but was very stodgy. My wife had the chicken sandwich. Her grilled vegetables were inedible as was the bread. My daughters left half of their salads as they complained of an odd flavor. They normally love salad. The alcohol, especially the beers are a rip off. Tiny glasses for $ 6. It’s a shame. We had higher hopes for this remodeled place. We won’t be going back.

A delicious lunch that we shared with my brother from out of state. Hot, fresh, perfectly prepared meals. The bar is fun with lots of beers on tap as well as special drinks. We will be back for a dinner taste test!

Stopped by late afternoon on a Sunday, there were about 3 others at the bar, and it took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the bartender. He then obtained my wife’s dink without asking for my order. Eventually we received our drinks. The margarita was marginal, I ordered a draft beer. The food menu looks impressive, but on a first visit I decided on a bowl of clam chowder, and their Almshouse Burger. My wife decided on a bowl of three squash soup and a cheeseburger. The soup came in rather large servings, but was bland. The chowder had no flavor, the squash tasted like pumpkin purée. Our burgers were small, and lacked any seasoning. Mine was dry(ordered medium), my wife’s was almost rare(ordered medium). The Almshouse Burger is supposed to come with a fried egg. The egg was overcooked. Not a good first impression.

After watching several past establishments come and go at this location, my wife and I were excited to visit the new eatery. The prior reviews had is interested in the cuisine and atmosphere. So how did 59 Almshouse fare? Quite well I’m happy to say. First note — reservations required. We leveraged OpenTable to set ours and was glad we did. After the valet service took our car(nice touch!), we were quickly seated. That would not have been the case without reservations — the house was packed! Always a good sign… First note of warning — there are two distinct and very different seating areas. There is a formal dining area which appeared well set-up. We, however, were seated in the bar area. It was loud, hectic, and with the traffic to and from the patio, drafty. Our two-top was simply too close to the bar for our comfort and next time will specifically request the main room. Now, the food. It was quite good to be frank. The executive chef as we found out is a Johnson & Wales grad, and the training shows. We started with the grilled wings which had a nice rub and char for a good mix of spice and heat. Definitely recommended as an alternative from traditional buffalo wings. My wife had the standard burger which was, in her words(and with a bit of a shrug) «a burger». Nothing overwhelming, but solid nonetheless. I had the scallops which were better than average. Well cooked with a perfect sear and paired with a surprising good risotto with pumpkin seeds, I finished the dish with reckless abandon and would order again. A peppermint cheesecake and pumpkin roulade finished the meal nicely(taken to go — we were too full to enjoy there). Long story short — I have a good sense 59 Almshouse may very well succeed where its predecessors failed, filling a vacant niche of approachable fine cuisine in the heart of Richboro.

We were in the other night with friends and had a great experience! It was a Friday night and we knew we would have a wait so we had a drink at the gorgeous bar. We took a walk onto the outdoor patio and couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked with the fireplace, big screen tv, outside bar, and the view of Richboro. The wait staff we had was very knowledgable about the menu and kept up on everything we needed. There was four of us and we had the Crab Cake, Salmon, Halibut, and Scallops which were the most delicious we’ve had around here. We saw on the dessert menu that they have their own Pastry Chef so of course we had to have dessert! The guys ordered the Crème Brûlée(Outstanding), and the Rocher(tastes just like those Ferrero Rocher Chocolates) but the ladies were full so ordered their desserts to go. They got the Pumpkin Roulade and Cheesecake which was also very delicious. We can’t wait to go back again and would recommend this place to everyone!

Maybe it’s too new and the bugs still need to be worked out but there is no reason to wait for an hour and a half for a table when we watched three two tops sit empty for more than an hour. We ended up leaving and going across the street to eat after informing the hostesses we were leaving and they could care less. Call me old fashion but having a hostess greet us with a nose ring is very unappealing!
