Don’t mind the other reviews… I go here at least 2 – 3 a month for breakfast and I’ve never had an issue! Small little breakfast spot and in my opinion the best breakfast in the area. I usually go around 8 – 9 am and most of the time have Gregg as our waiter. Awesome guy, very friendly, recognizes us every time and even knows our orders as the ‘usual’ Cheap prices, good pancakes & French toast, awesome staff, and quick service. Will be a life long customer :)

Good spot for quick lunch or breakfast, beer selection also looks good. Service was good. Will stop by again the next time I am in the area.

Quite possibly the worst owner of any food establishment in the area, I was told my taste was off when I had a complaint about the food, and he started according to him, having a pissing contest with me. Guys a child and his food is awful, please don’t ruin your day by going to this disgusting place. Awful wait staff and the chefs are probably on drugs… How does one mess up a chicken parm? Then say my taste is off we’ve sold 10 or 15 of those today… Yeah okay buddy. Awful owner, awful place, skip out and go to mcdonalds, you’ll be much happier.

For Richboro it doesn’t get any better than Jake’s Eatery. The place did a total 180 where it went from a small breakfast establishment to a full blow bar. And to say the least Jakes really does pub food well. I entered on a Sunday night with my family. We were all delighted to see that they offered a Sunday Happy Hour with cheap fare. Who doesn’t like a bargain! I decided to go with the chicken fingers and fries, just delicious, and a wedge salad. The wedge salad was the biggest salad I encountered in my life. For five bucks, the portion was over generous. The décor is very standard, but accomplished what you would expect out of a nice neighborhood pub. Our service was more than acceptable and it was nice to see that our server had been working there for years. When you get a chance check out Jake’s for happy hour.

I was always a Jakes fan. Back when he first opened the breakfast and wait staff was excellent. now I have been there for the new eatery that is dinner and a new bar. I was happy until I received a coupon that said I was able to get $ 5 off of $ 25. It was sent in my e mail and stated that the coupon was to be present. So being the age of technology I brought my smart phone and showed the waitress the coupon and the email. She turned it down stating that I had to print out the coupon. I was there with my son and accepted that as ok not wanting to make a big deal. The waitress came back and said she asked the manager who also turned done the coupon. I ordered a glass of wine for $ 8 and the glass was not even 3 ounces. Also I ordered a turkey club on rye and the bread was burned along with French onion soup that was also very burnt. I chalked it up as a random bad visit and was enjoying a rare dinner with my 20year old son so I decided to send an email later to let the manager for future reference. I felt very put down by his response. I never complain but I feel the lack of service recovery was not a concern. He also says he is the owner/manager. It’s a shame because it’s a local spot and I always support local businesses but I feel that is not something that this owner/manager does not care about .his only answer was that the wine prices may be adjusted and he says he gave me what they are required to give. It was literally one — two mouthfuls and gone. See for yourself or not!

Love the place. Eat there every week. Best fish and chips in town. Breakfasts are a favorite but dinner has great specials and hidden gems such as the sourdough chicken.

Reliably decent breakfasts are served here. Although we typically stop in only when we have other business in the vicinity, the good coffee and service keep Jakes’s on our list of breakfast spots. In this tier of breakfast eateries(which includes Robin Hood and Daddy Pops), Jake’s coffee is superior. It is a medium roast and the coffee pots are emptied so frequently that a customer never gets a cup of old, stale joe. The coffee, however, does not favorably compare to that served at Honey’s, Green Eggs or Cross Keys. It is a sad reality that few local breakfast eateries serve great coffee. Jake’s regular menu, by and large, offers standard breakfast fare, with few unusual or imaginative options. Today I tried the Telluride omelet(my first order from the reverse side of the breakfast menu), and I was pleasantly surprised. This cheese-less omelet was fluffy, chock full of vegetables, gently browned around the edges and served piping hot. It was too large for me and about 1⁄3 of it went to Mr. M. Unlike Jake’s other omelets, the Telluride was accompanied by freshly cut melon instead of potatoes. We note that Jake’s most exotic offerings, which change daily, are posted on a white board near the door. Today’s specials included an Andouille omelet and Almond Joy pancakes.

I visited Jake’s for the first time at lunchtime on a weekday. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I was very disappointed. The restaurant and bar area are very cozy, and the server was very nice. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich, which was two slices of white bread with a few slices of turkey inside, smothered with gravy and served with a little cup of cranberry sauce. Both the gravy and cranberry sauce seemed canned. The gravy was very gloppy, and the cranberry sauce contained no cranberries – the texture was really more like jelly. The sandwich came with fries, which were decent. Their potato chips and breakfast potatoes are likewise well done. Their eggs Benedict and turkey and bacon club sandwich were average. However, the sandwich was very underwhelming – maybe I should go for breakfast instead.

Maybe we picked a bad night to eat here, but it was a terrible experience. Extremely slow service. As we waited other tables in the dining room started to get antsy as a lot of us were waiting for food. One family got up and left and they received a $ 50 gift card. We decided to stick it out as we had a party of 6 and we were all very hungry. We ordered 2 appetizers and after waiting 30 minutes we asked where they were and our server explained she didn’t know we wanted the appetizers first. When the food finally arrived(both appetizers and entrees) it was not worth the wait. Salads were so so, onion rings not fully cooked, burger did not come with and condiments or toppings(we were told this is standard) and the fries came out way after the food and were cold. Our total bill came to just over $ 80 with gratuity and to be honest it was not worth it at all. Our server did her best given the situation she was dealing with, and she was very nice. Looking back we should have asked for a bill discount especially considering the table next to us that left got a gift card, but after being there for so long we were eager to get out of there. Maybe they were short staffed, maybe they were busier than usual, maybe it was an off night. Whatever it was it doesn’t matter because we will not be going back here.

Best breakfast in Bucks County. The coffee and breakfast potatoes are excellent! You may have to wait a little but well worth it.

If you plan to eat at Jakes, give yourself plenty of time and have your blood pressure under control. Same goes to people working there. Jake’s is an amazing, bustling diner with really good simple food. For food quality and service I’d give Jake’s a 5. But… today’s poor implementation of one policy forces me to give as central a rating as possible, balancing my momentary anger with the many times I’ve enjoyed breakfast here. Yesterday I had chipped beef on toast. Who trusts a diner to make that & serve it fresh? Well, Jake’s SOS was terrific — perfectly seasoned and with the telltale shine that confirms its freshness. Today, my blueberry pancake was delicious and others in my party enjoyed their Jakewiches — essentially handmade high quality McMuffins. However… a huge cloud darkened my experience in the form of a badly practiced policy. Jake’s will not seat a party unless all are present. The policy helps tables turn quickly for better service to all. But… I arrived at 8:30 on a Sunday and was seated immediately. At 9:10 two men arrived one of whom was in a hurry. They were not permitted to be seated as a 3rd was expected, even when they asked for a visible empty table for two. Multiple tables for 4 opened up and were bussed. Still new arrivals were seated while the men fumed. Everyone I arrived with finished and departed. I still had no food. So… why can I sit and enjoy my 3rd cup of coffee watching people arrive and leave before me while others stand? Something isn’t working. I told a busboy the men needed to be seated. «I don’t make the policy» he said. Well an exception needs to be made as open tables are present, they are prepared to order and my party is leisurely sitting. Somehow the hostess was involved and Steve came out of the kitchen with guns blazing. He loudly defended his policy, tossed out his stresses(including«I’m about to have a heart attack,» his work schedule and years of experience), and was unable to view the situation from a customer’s side. I’m sorry he’s stressed, I feel for the poor hostess whom I saw get burned by the coffee machine, I feel for the staff who practically run all morning, but for pity’s sake, seat two guys who are in a bigger hurry to leave than you are to serve me.

Every time I’ve come to Jake’s it’s been for a hungover breakfast but for the first time last week, I came for dinner. I got the french onion soup and grilled cheese with bacon. The french onion soup was soOoOo good! Which was why I gave it 4 stars. The grilled cheese was great too but I’m mostly impressed with the soup. Jake’s is always fairly priced, I will definitely be back for a simple weeknight dinner

Slow. I’m still waiting for the scrambled egg I ordered at the end of my breakfast. Slow is the best explanation for this place. The food is def good and staff is nice, but running around this busy, understaffed, cramped restaurant. We added one order of a scrambled egg w pork roll at the end of breakfast and it added about 20 mins to leaving after we paid the bill. Kitchen was slammed. They could have had our table of 9 out of here over 20 minutes ago and seated these other poor souls standing at the door near the cold air rushing in. Food is good. Nice menu. My kids really loved the pancakes. I loved my omelet — — the«Urban Omelet» and the egg white«Telluride Omelet» were excellent. Staff is overworked. Wait takes forever(I guess unless it’s empty). Maybe come alone, sit at the bar(they have a nice small breakfast bar). My pork roll was great on the way out so that made me happy! I was hoping to get in and out much quicker.

An average breakfast at best. The prices are high, the environment is cramped, and the homefries taste like mashed potatoes. There is so much better breakfast in the area and you shouldn’t waste your time here. I’ve given this place more chances than I think I should have over the years. The best meal I’ve had here was a club sandwich and even something as simple as that – with bone-dry turkey – was a miss.

The stars are for the nice waitress and the quick service. I’ve been in this area for 10 years. I kept giving Jake’s a try because there is only one other place to have breakfast in the«central part» of Richboro. I just keep getting disappointed because for such average orders, they make them worse than I would at home. «Stuffed French Toast» -(sigh) I can tell you the process: Two pieces of white bread(plain), strawberry slices in the middle then dipped in eggs(no cinnamon or nutmeg that I could taste) — THEMIDDLEISNOTEGGEDOR «TOASTED» just plain in the middle with the strawberries… WHYJAKES? Why wouldn’t both sides of each slice be french toast??? ugh… out side of the breakfast Jakewich and the average but not horrible quesedillas… there is not much going on here. But if you like plain plain plain food this is your place.
