I ordered my son’s birthday cake from here and it was amazing! Not only did it look fabulous, but it was so delicious too! Everyone at the party was raving about it! Thank you so much! What a great place to get your cake! They are so friendly and helpful! We forgot the smash cake when we picked up and they were so nice and delivered it to our house, free of charge and within 10 minutes of us leaving the bakery. They are amazing!

Ordered a custom cake from them it turned out phenomenal. I also would like to add that I brought a picture with me of what I wanted and they made it almost look identical. Will be back soon.

In connection with a social gathering at our home, we recently had a butter cookie taste test and Desserts by Design earned third place honors. The competition included butter cookies from Feasterville Family Bakery, Leonardo’s, Rilling’s, Swiss Haus Bakery. Chosen as for the test was the flower-shaped butter cookie with the chocolate center, which all of the bakeries offer. First place honors went to Rillings for its cookie’s relatively soft crumb and clear butter flavor. Our quibble was that the center dollop of chocolate was a bit sweet and hard, but overall it was a good cookie. The other first place winner was Feasterville, whose cookie is very delicate and nearly disintegrates on the tongue(like any great shortbread). One has to carefully transport Feasterville’s cookies because they easily crumble in transit. Again, the chocolate center was a bit sweet and hard. Both Rilling’s and Feasterville could elevate these cookies to epic status by replacing the chocolate frosting with a bittersweet ganache. Second place went to Swiss Haus Bakery, whose butter cookies are a perennial household favorite. The Swiss Haus version is much firmer than either than Rilling’s or Feasterville’s and it is less sweet. To its credit, the Swiss Haus cookie’s chocolate center is neither as sweet nor as hard as the first place bakeries’ versions. Swiss Haus’s cookies are sufficiently hearty to transport with little breakage. Desserts by Design had a credible entry, which earned them third place. The cookie had a delicate crumb but lacked any butter flavor. Where these cookies failed was an unattractive milk-chocolate-looking center that was not a consistent color throughout and was irregularly shaped. It also was far too sweet and hard. Much to our chagrin, Leonardo’s version ended up in fourth place. While Leonardo’s makes exquisite rustic breads and phenomenal cannoli, its butter cookies are just too hard and lack any butter flavor.

I tried this bakery after driving to another local bakery to find them closed. The cupcakes I bought were delicious; the flavor selection was impressive, and the manager/owner was helpful and kind. The guests who had the cupcakes all raved about them I will be returning again for sure. To boot, the owner honored the competitors coupon after hearing me lament their being closed. Its unusual to find both quality and service in a business these days, but you will find that combination at Desserts by Design!

We ordered two cakes for my daughter’s wedding shower, one for the shower and a small one that we used to celebrate her birthday. They were delicious! They were light and airy and the buttercream frosting is good, as well. I would highly recommend this bakery to everyone. Monica was very helpful and made suggestions and we designed the two cakes to fit the occasion.

Based on the reviews, I think I was expecting more than what I experienced. There are certainly a variety of pretty desserts, and I have only tried the cookies, but I wasn’t impressed. I ordered 6 holiday sugar cookies, and was at first shocked at the $ 7.00 price tag, though I told myself I wouldn’t mine if they were worth the price. I didn’t find that they were. The cookie was absolutely tasteless, and COVERED in sugar. I gave the cookies as a gift to family and asked their honest opinion, and they thought I made them(which isn’t saying much! haha). I cannot speak to the other desserts but I was not impressed with the quality of the sugar cookies I purchased.

Just stopped by after a run to the post office. Purchased a danish, and a Italian horn. The lovely woman serving us was helpful and informative about her products. She also gave us some samples to try later. The danish was a perfectly executed butter package of deliciousness! We will now purchase all our baked goods here! Yeah for a true bakery in our lil town!

This tiny, traditional bakery serves everything you enjoyed when you were a kid – butter cookies, danish, rugelach, specialty brownies, and other pastries, as well as cakes(although the emphasis is on the pastries). Everything is delicious, although the raspberry rugelach is definitely the better of the two flavors they had that day. They’ll also let you sample the smaller pastries if you aren’t sure about the flavor you want to buy. Best of all, the prices are very low! You can get 6 danish, some cookies, and rugelach for under $ 20, for example.

It is such a wonderful bakery. I am so happy when local family owned business like this open and are so good. The owners are delightful and always so warm and nice. And of course the cookies and cakes are fabulous. They always have fun new things to try.
