I want the old Fireside back please. It’s a very interesting theme for a pizza place, I do believe they are steam punk sorta themed. We sat outside, there is a fire so that was nice. There were only a few tables filled when I was there but if they were all filled I don’t see how anyone could get out without asking people to get up and move. Service was a little slow, but friendly. There are a lot of other things on the menu besides pizza. We enjoyed sharing the a pepperoni and the Fireside Special. I was not a huge fan of their red sauce. Also it’s thin crust pizza.

I can see that the update is working out for y’all. And honestly, that’s cool. But at least half the reason I smiled and tolerated the huge brass bowling balls sized rip off of your prices was the unmatched vintage insane of your indoor trees and checked tablecloths. It was the«we’re not competing with that highbrow stuff» stance. Now you are. And you’re charging even more. You have to be kidding me, 22 bucks for the special to go, after tax, and I walk out with a 13 inch pie weighing less than most priority mail envelopes. That’s one thing if you’re actually leaving the planet of low to low middle brow and sourcing from Italy or the farm. This food isn’t. This place is more or less identical to the red wagon experience, only the food is completely out of line with the pricing, versus excellent. I like quirky, but I’m not a chump, and this food is far over its head now. Form and content are completely off.

We had a group of 13 and they were very accommodating for us. Started out with the snacks as they are listed on their menu. We tried the Onion rings, Garlic cheese bread, tater tots and giant pretzel. All of these items were good. O rings had like a tempura batter, batter was well fried but when you bit into them it had a bit of grease in it. They come with a sauce that we all think was a horseradish sauce Tater tots come with a sauce we think was thousand island dressing. Pretzel comes with a jalapeño cheese sauce that is very complementary to the pretzel which was very nicely bready. Garlic cheese bread was the big surprise hardly no grease at all! Served with Marinara sauce. We all had different items, Patty melt, spag and meatballs, pizza and baked rigatoni. No complaints were had by any in our group. I had the rigatoni and it was great as leftovers. I do have 2 criticisms about them. 1 One they can’t do anything about which is the size of the restaurant, I do wish it were bigger. The other were the prices, some items were priced as though they were in Edina not Richfield.

We checked out Fireside for the first time tonight since the remodel and we were very impressed! I liked the décor, atmosphere, and bar. We had excellent service and great pizza. Our family shared a large pizza and still had leftovers. We also enjoyed wonderful side salads for $ 2.50 each that included homemade croutons and dressing. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the hostess gave our son a cookie without asking us. I know her intentions were only good but we really didn’t want him to be offered this. We’ll definitely be back!

We took the kids and my in laws here on a Monday night. The restaurant seemed busier then what I am guessing for a Monday night as they seemed slightly understaffed. Now, this place is loud but that suited me just fine. It’s frustrating to go to a quiet restaurant with loud kids and feel anxious the entire time that the kids are annoying the other patrons. This place has enough noise that I didn’t worry about it. We could still hear each other at our own table but couldn’t overhear other groups. The food was good. Not amazing but good. I had a chicken club that had a good slice of chicken in it. My husband had the walleye sandwich and it was huge! My in laws shared a calzone but weren’t that impressed with it. My kids had the grilled cheese(again, huge) and a cheese pizza which they both enjoyed. The portions are big so while it is expensive you could take home the leftovers for the next day. Would I go here again? Probably. The waitstaff was nice, the food was good and it’s nice to support local businesses. I would recommend this place to any parents wanting to take their kids out for a nice family meal.

Bummer. My husband liked this place so years ago he asked me to go. I didn’t like it then… it was dark and dirty and I didn’t like the food. With the new remodel we decided to try it again. The new look was very updated, trendy and lovely. My husband thought the new design made it louder but I really didn’t think about it as all restaurants are loud to me. The food was mediocre. You would think with a new fancy décor design they would update and improve the menu. Sadly they didn’t. We ordered the chicken kabobs and a small pizza(I think it was something with the word«Kiss» in it??). The pizza had spinach, olive oil, mozzarella and tomatoes. Our son had meatballs and spaghetti. Everything was bland, not very flavorful and/or tasted like it was whipped up in the kitchen with a jar of sauce. We expected so much more from this restaurant with the classy remodel. I told my husband as we left that I will not be fooled again to go back.

Love a place that serves a custom kids pizza & solid burger with fries. Picky kids… handled. Gluten free options & the milk & warm cookie that come with kids meal are an added bonus too. Thank you Fireside!

It’s cozy here and the service is fantastic from the moment you enter to the minuet you leave. I didn’t mind the noise from surrounding patrons. I’ve been to far louder establishments. We ordered the Fireside Pizza which boasts a mighty award. I make a pizza at home that would crush this pizza on any given day. The crust is thin but soggy in spots and not crunchy other than the outer edge. The ingredients are basic and under cooked. Enough about the bad pizza… this place has tots and just like in «A Knights Tale» if that was all I knew about them I would say that it was Knightly too! Gotta love tots and I’ll be back for them and a beer soon! Next time I think I’ll roll with a sandwich or a burger! Enjoy!

This was our first time in since the remodel. We have always gotten the pizza, but we thought we’d try something new on there menu. The patty melt was great. The sweet yellow onions(cooked in beer I think) was a slight twist on a classic burger. Then there was the rueben. I took a bite and couldn’t finish the bite. I couldn’t bite through it. An alligator couldn’t bite through it. I had to sift through the corned beef pieces to identify the edible chunks of meat. When our server stropped by and asked how everything was, I told him how bad the sandwich was. He said«sorry about that» and walked away. We have been here many times before and have always had very good experiences when having the pizza. The staff is friendly so we will probably be back and have the pizza.

First the not perfect things– Its loud! especially when its busy. Between the people and the music its hard to hear others at your table second — There are really to many tables. There is very little room between tables Third– it is not cheap Fourth– parking is horrible! NOW for the good that makes this all worth while. The staff is incredible The food is 10 star delicious. The pizza is very good(but pricey) The meatloaf dinner i had was incredible. There is not one thing they could have done to make it better. So if your willing to put up with the things above you will have a great meal served by top of the line staff

My wife and I had a $ 20 Groupon for this place. They have renovated recently I believe and it looks pretty upscale. It seems like it belongs on 50th and France in Edina, rather than Richfield. Prices were about $ 3 or $ 4 more than you would expect, but it’s all good. I ordered a Surly Furious and the Banh Mi sandwich with a side salad and my wife got a cheeseless pizza with spinach on top. Our server was super nice and took care of us perfectly. I ordered a second Furious for the meal and tried a piece of my wife’s pizza. Really thin crust, but crisp and flavorful sauce with plenty of toppings. My sandwich was really sticky with teriyaki sauce(#Edinaproblems) but the meat was perfect and the bun was huge. Great example of the sandwich style. REALLYGOOD! The side salad was fantastic as well with great blue cheese on the side. We really liked this place, it was $ 30 after tip with the Groupon. So it was about $ 50 for a meal, for the two of us, and I was the only one that had 2 beers. So a little pricey, but other than that, good stuff.

Loved the old Fireside both the ambiance and food. While I understand why the changes were made, think they were going for more modern and trying to attract the bar crowd, as they now have a liquor license. Sadly they missed on the food and price point. The spaghetti was a zero star, the sauce was burned and the meatballs dry and flavorless. In fact I think we might have gotten a touch of food poisoning, felt very ill night of visit and next day. The pizza was better, closer to the old recipe. The new menu is missing one of our family favorites, the stuffed meatball sandwich, but given the quality of the meatballs, maybe that’s better for all. Fireside used to be a regular for our family, including a must visit when out of town relatives would visit. Based on our last visit, we will be looking elsewhere. Also, the price point went way up as well, so poor food for little value = no more visits.

Worst service ever!!! Dinner Rush was almost over when we got there, server took 10 minutes to get back to us to take our order, I ordered pasta and a pizza to share, we never got the pizza because he forgot. All I wanted was some frikin pizza! Being a server I understand if you are super busy but he had maybe 3 other tables… Not too hard to do.

My wife and I have been here a couple times since they re-opened the restaurant. We really like the new food… we have tried the Pizza, Pub Pretzel, Calzone, Salads & Sandwich’s. We have liked them all… the service has been friendly and timely… we don’t like someone constantly at our table so we like the service there… So overall… we find the food & service really good… Now the two things we think need some work… I saw this mentioned by a couple other people… the price point on everything is a little high… we have been a few times and never gotten out of there for less that $ 50 and it’s just the two of us… we may both get a beer and a pizza… maybe an appetizer… I think the prices could be a little less. The other thing and I consider this to be the biggest things… it is extremely loud inside the dining area… and I mean loud, quite possibly one of the louder places I have been in… even if the dining area isn’t completely full… there are just so many surfaces that the sound bounces off of and as it gets loud then people get louder and it just gets worse… We were there last night and it was so loud I was having trouble understanding the waiter… and forget having conversation with your dining mate… when we left my ears were ringing… I like the place but this is the one thing that would keep me from going more often… they really need to invest in some noise absorption material for the place. So long story short… good food… friendly service… very loud dining room…

Two stars because they use tiny little personal pan type boxes and smash your pizza in so the cheese and everything gets stuck to the lid and sides. Super slow service as well and the bartender didn’t have a clue on which beers he had on tap. I asked for the IPA on tap and got a blonde ale. Come on, please get it together, you are so close to my house.

Oof. There’s a lot of room for improvement right now. My SO and I went in at around 7:30 on Thursday night. A young gentleman almost seated us by the window but was told that was where a party was going be be seated, so we got a table over by the TV. That is the last contact we had with a Fireside employee. The dining room was about 2⁄3 full. We sat and waited as a server went by our table several times and never so much as looked at us. We watched some baseball on the TV. The waiter breezed by us a few more times. We heard a gentleman at the next table over commenting that they’d been waiting more than 30 minutes for their pizza. After over ten minutes, we got up and left. I’ve never done that before! It was really loud in there. It wasn’t a pleasant«bustling restaurant» kind of background noise, it was the kind of obtrusive din that makes it hard to relax or have a conversation. The space could benefit from some kind of noise absorption to keep the sound from bouncing around the dining room so much. I hope I have the opportunity to upgrade my review. I used to love Fireside; their pizza was my favorite in town… so delicious that I’d get insatiable cravings for it. I really hope they haven’t changed that. It’s hard for me not to say«I miss the old place,» because I really did love the cozy neighborhood feel of it. But it’s better changed than closed, I suppose. It’s going to be a while before I give Fireside another try, though.

Beyond excited to have this place open in the neighborhood and hopefully I can improve my review as time goes by. The ambiance is fantastic — upbeat, eclectic and funky décor. Besides from the normal issues a restaurant has when opening — slow service, lack of menu items, chaotic bar, delayed food — I will give those time to be fixed… my concern is the price point. For the neighborhood, portions, lack of quality in ingredients, presentation — it’s a little too pricey. $ 70 for a date night with basic food and 2 drinks each is a little much for Penn Ave. We’ll try happy hour next time :) Update to my review… Went in for another try of this place. Dead on a Saturday night, food tasted like it was made months ago and still overpriced. Most discouraging — it says $ 10 large pizza for checking in but they said«No that’s no from us» and wouldn’t acknowledge it. Not sure what that’s about. Super bummed

The new Fireside Foundry is classing up the neighborhood! Open space with full bar and new menu is a welcome change. Our first meal, a Minnesota Banh Mi and a small pizza was satisfying. Our waitress Rachel was personable and fun. Excited to have a new local joint!
