I had been a premium member here for close to 10 years — mainly because it was about a mile from my house. Anyway I went primarily to the Richfield location because it was so close. However it is the worst run, maintained and has the worst service in general of all their Twin Cities locations. The facility used to be better though — several years ago. The last several months they’ve often had one spray tan booth(of the two they have) not working so it was backed up and very slow. The service generally isn’t great — one clerk in particular couldn’t remember my name even though I tanned there almost week after week and saw this same person over and over again — but I could put up with that. To make a long story short, I moved 3 months ago to Roseville and it just wasn’t practical to go there anymore because it takes so long to get there — all their locations take a half hour or more to drive to for me now. So I decided to look around for something closer. I ended up joining at Darque Tan as it is about a half mile from my new house and I’m very happy with the tan quality(VersaSpa). It’s faster than Mystic(the one at Palm Beach, and they are ancient at the RIchfield location and need replaced) and I think it does a better job. Also at Darque Tan they don’t upcharge you for everything. At Darque Tan there is one monthly fee and you can get whatever tan level you want –the monthly fee is about $ 6 more but when you add the upcharges at PBT which I always did, it ends up being the same and maybe slightly less at Darque Tan. So I decided to drop my membership at PBT and that wasn’t received very well by the staff there. LOL They tried talking me out of leaving and kind of took it as a personal affront — but that was typical of the kind of unprofessional service that I’ve experienced there off and on over the years. So bottom line, there are better options out there so definitely shop around.

By far the worst customer service I’ve experienced. Just read the reviews, the manager is absolutely horrible. Don’t ever give them your credit card info or sign up for a membership, you will regret that instantly. They do all they can to take your money and bill you for services you have never used. I would highly suggest going ANYWHERE else. Seriously, do yourself a favor and look for another salon and don’t set foot in here.

Instead of negative reviews I usually just take my business elsewhere. I’ve been a platinum member for 4+ years. Stopped by yesterday and as I keep my lotions in my car, which was in the garage for service, I was lotionless. Of course I’m referring to the rather hard sell, expensive lotion that I buy there. I asked the girl if there was a little I could have for my face. After pleading she reluctantly took a bottle and put a drop, and I mean literally a drop, in my hand. I thought she was kidding but when it was obvious she wasn’t, I asked if I could have a little more. It was explained to me that they don’t do that and they have to keep for other people. I told them that as a member of long standing and needing some assistance exceptionally this day, they could have stepped up and been more accommodating. The reaction was one of something between utter disinterest and nuisance. The result? Given the location isn’t convenient and the cost is not a bargain, I’m going to look for something better.

On July 3rd, 2014 I visited this tanning place. It was the worst experience. A week earlier, I had visited a Palm Beach Tan in D.C. The guy there was very nice and told me that I could use my single sessions. I was surprised but he made a call to my local Palm Beach Tan, verified my info and I was allowed to use the bed without paying extra. Pleased with this experience I bought more when I got back home. Then I visited the Richfield MN location. I wish I never did. I was greeted by a rude manager by the name of Danielle Jubera. I explained to her that I was out of town and told her that I was able to tan in D.C. using my sessions. She did not listen to anything I was saying and kept telling me that she can’t help me cause that’s not company policy. I asked her to just call to verify what I was saying. She argued some more and then called. Even though they verified my info she made sure to tell the person that was not company policy. So I was annoyed but still wanted to tan so I waited. I then asked to buy a single lotion pack. She said they did not sell any. Now I was really annoyed cause all salons have this. So I told her that I wasn’t going to tan. I asked her to call my salon to tell them to put my session back into my account. She ignored what I said, and helped someone else. I waited until she was done and asked her again. She reluctantly did. I left the place and called my salon. I asked the girl what the Palm Beach policy was since I had two very different experiences. The girl said it is company policy that customers can’t use single sessions but when someone is from out of town or whenever they need to, they are told to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. Well, I am here to tell you Danielle Jubera needs lessons in retail, and how to make customers happy. She is an unpleasant, unhappy individual who would rather fight with a customer than to make them satisfied. Try to avoid this location like the plague… cause it’s horrible.

What happened to this place? Holes in the walls patched by stickers, no garbage cans in the rooms, bathrooms are always absolutely disgusting, signs that look like a preschooler made them taped up all over the store, lotion all over the walls, beds that squeak so loud when you pull them up or down you go to plug your ears, floors always sticky, and a different girl working every single time. I remember back like 10 years ago when this place was supposed to be spotless at every second. Now I am a little apprehensive about keeping my membership. I think I would rather go somewhere that looks like it is taken care of. This place just looks like it has been completely abandoned an no gives a crap anymore. Sad :(

Very friendly staff. Good salespeople suggesting add-ons and packages but not pushy. Much better than I am used to at home.
