I picked up a floral arrangement earlier this week and when I got home my wife, the recipient, discovered that a couple of the flower stems and the stems of some of the greenery were broken. I stopped by yesterday to advise the manager of the situation and was greeted nonchalantly. She was less than enthusiastic when I told her of my recent experience. I’ve been using this Just Roses store since it opened and recently have noticed that the quality of the work has decreased. The employees that I’ve recently dealt with are less than excited or enthusiastic to say the least. Maybe the adage«you get what you pay for» is true for this business?

My take: If you order flowers just 1.1 miles from your wife’s work at 7:26AM, find out there is a $ 6.99 delivery charge at «checkout time» on their website, and they call you at 5:01PM wondering where your wife is, then there is something seriously wrong. I called the next day asking how someone orders flowers so early in the morning, yet they get an attempted delivery so late at night. She did apologize, but it was in a manner that I would describe as very curt, bordering on rude. Additionally, I asked for my money back rather than try to have them redelivered. She said the owner would have to call me back. Somewhat ironic, but just a few days before I watched a TV special on government regulation, and how it may be over-reaching. As an example, they pointed out that floral shops in Louisiana were regulated by a government watch-dog group. I am, of course, against something like this, but a Louisiana spokesman did bring up one interesting point… people who order flowers generally do not do it very often and flowers need to be received during a certain time window. Funny, but now I see how the«government» felt the need to look out for the consumers in a case like this. STAYAWAYFROMJUSTROSES!
