Ordered chicken over rice. Delicious and their prices are reasonable. Wish they gave you more sauce. Overall, awesome food!

Love this place me and my family order from here often. I’ve been getting the same thing a number 10 for as long as I can remember I absolutely the food here. I would say the best part is the white sauce.

My family and I ordered the Family Jumbo and the rice was spoiled on one instance. On a second instance we thought we’d give them another chance, but this time the baklava was stale and disgusting. The owner I believe had the audacity to ask me for $ 1 extra for the baklava. It isn’t about the price, it’s about being genuine. If a price is listed you sell for that price. I’m assuming there is a new owner. The only reason I’m giving a 2 stars is because a while back I went with my girlfriend and enjoyed it. Now there food is bland, spoiled, stale and there customer service is shit. I feel bad for the employees since I was told by one of them they’re paid $ 50/day without tip. Order from somewhere else, go to the real Bakhtar not this fake shit.

Love their food ! Always get 2 #27s ! They’re chicken tikka is amazing, and if you make it spicy even better(if you’re into spice) love their green sauce and hot sauce, my hubbs loves the white sauce. Food is always fresh and delivery is great! They will remember you as a customer and your order if you visit often ! Amazing food and friendly staff!

Chicken and rice was so good! I got it without salad, with green sauce, BBQ sauce and white sauce. We ordered delivery to our office about 20 blocks away. We weren’t sure if they would deliver but they do! For $ 7, it’s really worth it. The rice comes flavored so it’s not the regular NYC food cart. And the chicken pieces are pretty big too. My coworkers said the beef kuftas were a bit too spicy for her but the chicken tikka was great. The chicken tikka isn’t like the chicken tikka most people are used to from Indian food– it took me awhile to understand if too. It’s not sauces like in Curry. It’s a dry flavored chicken cube kebab. Delivery was about 30 minutes. Apparently there is a lunch menu but we don’t have the paper menu. Can’t say much about the interior or the service but the phone call and delivery were fast.

Bland boring an a ton of waiting. Nothing like the food carts of NYC and I was hoping I had one in my neighborhood.

Great place with quick and friendly service! Food is great for a fast food kabab place and is always fresh and clean! Flavor is amazing and quantity of food is large as well! Slightly expensive for lunch but a viable option for dinner!

Average food. Not bad if you are hungry and no other halal places around. It is family owned and run by a couple, at least when we visited.

The food is very tasty. This is my 2nd time ordering from them and I’m definitely not disappointed. However they’re slow as hell. Both occasions I ordered some dishes to go that would ordinarily be ready and just need to be placed in a to go container. Both times I’ve waited over 15 minutes. Channa and chicken kurma should not take that long.

Absolutely GREAT service! We ordered for delivery: 2 chicken over rice with extra white sauce, a carrot and rice dish, and 2 an apples and they came in exactly 30 minutes! They were beyond friendly when I called and wonderfully friendly when we received our food! They were also very patient when we couldn’t make up our minds lol They’re food doesn’t taste exactly like the Halal cart food so don’t expect cart food. It’s great quality food that’s super tasty! I will definitely order from them again! We even got a menu for our fridge :) Great service. Great food!

We love eating from Bakhtar however this spot is more better if your taking food out since the ambience is not that great … however who cares about that when the food is awesome !!! They are consistent with the quality of food … I have never ordered non Afghani dishes such as Naan or biryani or gravy dishes …

This is like your take-out Chinese restaurant, except it’s Halal. The service was very friendly and attentive, I went with an older friend who was a regular. The food was decent but personally I enjoy halal from a cart downtown. It was seasoned well and the portion was kind of small for my liking but it was still good. I did appreciate that they used real plates and eating utensils versus Styrofoam and plastic if you dined in. The TV had on news from their country and it was actually quite interesting watching without knowing what it was saying. Truth be told-where its located under the train tracks is a little spooky at night time since all the other shops are closed.

I was very pleased with the prompt and friendly service. However the food portions were NOT worth it. The protein portions were small yetvthe to go box was filled with rice. Decent taste but noengoing back

I am giving them 4.5 stars solely based on the food quality. Usually the afghan food is a lil bland for my palate and I have to drench it in the sauces and chutneys. But surprisingly their food is seasoned well, the portion is big, food is fresh and prices are cheap. Service was pretty quick too.

Love this place. When I’m craving lamb, rice and naan I run down the street and pick it up here. You get a lot of food for the price. Everything is fresh and seasoned well. It’s a must try if you’re in the neighborhood.

Wow! I can’t believe I missed this place for so long. I’ve always walked past it but finally gave it a try and I wasn’t disappointed. This is an Afghan style restaurant with kebabs and kofta. I have had the chicken kofta and the beef and chicken tikka. The chicken tikka isn’t like the chick tikka you get at other places. It’s dry and without sauce but still very well seasoned and juicy. The basmati rice is also soft and seasoned with cumin for a tangy taste. For $ 8.00 they give you a lot of food plus a salad on the side and two tasty sauces. You can either take out or sit down and eat in one of the booths. I will definitely become a regular at this place.

I’ve been meaning to try this spot for several months since I walk by it every day on my way to the train. I tried a couple of vegetarian dishes(Dal, sag paneer) with naan and they tasted great. Both veggie dishes taste unique compared to the original Indian versions of these dishes and I liked that there wasn’t too much oil in them. The service seemed very nice and it cost about $ 12 for the meal. The serving size is pretty small compared to most restaurants in the neighborhood but still worth it. I also really liked the green sauce. I have to try the rice next time.
