I popped into BK Music for the first time while on a business trip in Richmond. I was so glad I did because I left with some real gems! They sell other stuff too such as t-shirts, CDs, etc… THEGOOD… –very easy to park(private lot in strip mall) –clean inside –wide selection of most genres –plenty of new/reissues and used LPs –prices were very reasonable –listening station –found some great stuff I’ve never come across before at any shop –tons of budget LPs(if that’s your thing) –staff seemed nice –condition of most records I looked at were VG or better –used new arrivals section THEBAD… –not much experimental/electronic music(used vinyl) –not a lot of hardcore/punk(used vinyl) Overall, I am so glad I stopped here! I left with some killer records I either been wanting! Would recommend checking out this spot… it is a bit away from some of the other Richmond record stores, but could be worth the drive depending on your taste and what you’re hunting for.

I’m not sure what I’d do if I didn’t have a used CD location to pick up music I’d not find elsewhere. I like the new location even better than on Midlothian. I’m not into vinyl but they have a nice selection. Nice to find older music and of course and perhaps most surprising, their selection of new music is normally better than other places on the Southside. Yay for BK!

I finally had a chance to check out BK Music’s new location in Stratford Hills Shopping Center. Whether you are looking for new CD’s or blu-rays, or new or used vinyl, this is the best place in RVA’s Southside to go. They always seem to have a «sale» on their new stuff, and their used LP’s are all guaranteed! They have greatly expanded their vinyl selection at this location compared to when they were on Midlothian Turnpike. They will also buy your old LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, Laserdiscs & blu-rays if you want to sell them. Everything is laid out and well organized sections, mostly by alphabet. Be sure to check out their New Arrivals and Clearance sections if you’re into old LP’s. Example: I just found a near mint condition original of Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger for $ 4 in the clearance section. I just left and I’m already looking forward to going back!
