Today was my first time going their, with a few guys from work. The food was great, priced right, and the owner was terrific. Will definitely be back, next time I’m in Richmond.

Great breakfast food! I was told by family lunch is great too. Fast and very polite service. Very quaint! Looking for home style food, this is the place! My fav: corned beef hash and eggs!

OMG you guys(sorry, Y’ALL, transplanted Yankee here). Do yourselves a favor and order the fried catfish breakfast. It’s not on the menu, just order it. Crisp, cornmeal-coated catfish without a hint of grease, and perfect, buttery, clean-tasting fish. I can only hope this is on the menu in heaven, preferably with fried green tomatoes. 0: o)

I’ve been here multiple times, I understand what I’m getting into: cheap food in a one note diner setting. I have no high expectations that are unrealistic, so I’m not surprised when I see the pies on the counter still in the box from Kroger, I’m not disappointed when I’m not greeted promptly or warmly. I am disappointed when I arrive at 1130am, order a basic egg sandwich and it takes 20mins when there are no tickets in front of mine and there’s 3 people in the kitchen. Im fine with the generic American cheese slice and bread, but I come to a diner and sit at a counter when I’m in a hurry and 20+ min ticket times on something that could come out in less than 5 if anyone actually cared is unacceptable.

They have spaghetti with meat sauce special which was not available today but heard great things about it. This is your old school diner with simple breakfast menu, sandwiches and burgers. It is inexpensive and the food quality is pretty darn good. The owner is super nice. She could have opened this place near downtown but I’m glad that it’s here. I gotta try their triple decker next time. I’m a big fan of turkey triple decker with bacon and eggs.

There are some really great things about this place– an awesome view of the city skyline, the early hours that let you make enough time for breakfast before going to work, and the Motown playlist. And while the prices are right(in the $ 2.50 -$ 5 range for breakfast) the food was lackluster. The coffee is weak, the French Toast looked very meager, and the pancakes and sausages had slight off-flavors. The best thing was probably the sausage gravy and biscuits which were tasty if rather lumpy. However I’m pretty confident everything was homemade so I definitely plan on giving this place another go. I have a feeling that their specials could be good, and I’d like to try their burger.
