A great place to get a hot dog and not break the bank! My hotdog with cheese and pickles is always on point!

They Are quick and delicious. Sometimes I crave Casper’s so much. I wish they had one in San Rafael. Whenever I’m in the area I go get myself some Casper’s. They have a wide variety of condiments including chili and chips to go with your order.

Dogs are great. Neighborhood is feisty. Old school diner feel. Try the chili cheese dog or the sour kraut! Aces

Casper states all natural ingredients. They use a dangerous cancer causing chemical to preserve the meat called Sodium Nitrate. What is Natural about a chemical that causes cancer??? Just say no to Hot Dogs made by this Company. Nathans and Hebrew National are just as Toxic. Stay with a Fish Sandwich and help your friends that eat Packaged meats during their Chemo Therapy and radiation therapy. GOOGLESODIUMNITRATEANDWAKEUP!!!

Best hot dogs on the East Bay. Delicious, Friendly, Clean and a Scene! I’m a simple guy(like O’Reilly on the Factor) so I get the basic Dog, the Kraut Dog or the Spicy Dog

This place is ok. For some reason I prefer simply buying the casper hot dogs at costco and cooking them myself. But I end up coming here simply because of it’s proximity to my work. A hot dog for an afternoon snack is always nice

This place is CLASSIC, old school bay area hot dog spot. I’ve been a «Casper’s,» fan since childhood, that is Casper’s w/a «c» not«k.» It was the first hotdog I’ve ever eaten(Casper’s in Albany) and to this day I still get it made the same way. Here is what you’ll find a Casper’s: –Steamed hot bun, it makes the bread nice and soft –Hotdog w/the signature Casper’s «snap» –Nice ladies behind the counter, most of them have been working there for decades(AWESOME!) –Regulars, the regular customer that come in once a day, week, month –Long hotdog counter w/padded stools, a nice place to hangout or chat with the nice ladies that make your hotdog –Signature Casper’s condiments, fresh sliced tomatoes, tangy mustard, and that classic shredded slightly powdery cheese. Gotta love it all. ***I think Casper’s fans need to start a facebook campaign in favor of t-shirts, that is the only thing missing, I would definitely buy and wear one.

It was late afternoon and a chili/cheese dog sounded good. I saw the Unilocal reviews and decided to give Casper’s a try. I am glad I did. I ordered the Combo #1. A hot dog, drinks and a bag of chips. Then the fun started. I said I would like to add chili and cheese. She asked me if that was all or would I like«the works»? «The Works!» I said. I saw mustard, relish, chopped tomatoes, chili and cheese all piled onto my dog. The favors worked perfectly together and the bun was perfectly steamed. I was so full from my dog that I didn’t even eat the chips. Casper’s, I will visit again the next time I am around. Thank you!

Great hot dogs. The ladies here are extremely nice. And good dogs and good cheese. And they don’t give me flack when I ask for sliced instead of diced onion. Skip the chili though.

Charming locals tell tall tales about days gone by in Richmond but unfortunately the food come no where near matching the charming ambiance. Its an adorable building and immaculate inside that is all it has. We ordered one faux Chicago style hot dog, they don’t have dill pickles celery salt, or peppers. Scant onions, mustard, and a couple of mushy tomatoes slices were added to the flat bun. As we all know, that is not a Chi-dog. Also on the menu for the night was a chili cheese dog. The chili was from a can and was topped with a few sprinkles of cheese. Marginal favor. The dog itself was lackluster. It was limp, the casing had no snap, and the coloring was bizarre. Truthfully, I have never eaten styrofoam but I imagine that it would have more flavor than these lackluster, plain, and boring dogs. Caspers for all its hype was a culinary junk food fail.

I grew up going to Caspers in Richmond(and sometimes the Albany store) whenever we visited my grandparents who were first generation Caspers Fans of the original store during the depression. I used to love sitting at the counter and ordering a dog with my grandfather… something we did together right up to the last week he was alive. Still the best dogs on the planet!

My boy friend introduced me to Casper’s Hot Dogs a little while ago and I fell in love with them. They are one of my favorite hot dogs because they use actual casings. They have a nice snap to it when you bite into them and are juicy and tender too. The buns are steamed just right. I usually order mine with tomatoes, onions, mustard and lots of sour kraut. So good :) You can buy these in the super market in a packet of 8. :) This isn’t the best location but i love going here for a quick hot dog fix. :)

I came in because the sign said«famous for hot dogs» and I had heard a lot of buzz about it. It was just alright. I had a chili dog with everything on it. Four bucks for a chili dog? Gimme a break. I know there’s inflation and all, but that’s a bit much for an average hot dog, outside a ballpark. I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again.

If you’re a mid-century fan like I am, you’ll love Casper’s just for the décor alone. A big sign with ‘60s style graphic icons, vinyl cushioned stools and booths in a distinctive palate of pink, orange and yellow — it’s pure mid-century elegance. The franks are just ok. They are extra long served with steamed buns and a variety of toppings. I think it’s worth going just to sit back and take in the nostalgia. Just know that the menu is basic and the dogs are average.

Not good. The extra star is for the service. They were really nice. _____ I love hot dogs. I don’t know when it started, but I really enjoy a nice hot dog that fills the bun from side to side and top to bottom. I’m pretty simple with mine: ketchup, mustard, and relish. The buns were nice and soft and the dog had a nice crisp-crunch feel, but there was no flavor at all. Usually Heinz ketchup helps, but this time? Nope. Next time I’m going to try Casper’s with a «K».
