oh the chicken salad! It is the best cold chicken salad I have ever had! They do not skimp on the amount either! I can easily make two meals out of the chicken salad and sides. I suggest the marinated cucumbers and sesame noodles. They are delicious! If you need a quick, delicious and cheap lunch, look no further!

I’ve tried most of the dishes with Tarragon Chicken Salad and Sesame noodles with a wedge of cheese and french bread and butter being my favorite. The shrimp with pasta is my other favorite. The dishes are consistently delicious. Whatever your taste, this is the place!

I tried Christopher’s today for the first time ever. Many friends have ranted about how delicious it is and I finally decided to give it a try. I’m halfway through my first meal, and, already excited to go back tomorrow. The food is wonderful! Fresh, light, filling, tasty… and cheap! The chicken salad gets lots of hype. And, for me, it delivered. It’s got simple flavors, a good balance of tarragon, the raisins don’t overpower(which I was worried about), but, are a great compliment. The sesame noodles are outstanding. A nice amount of sesame flavor — not too mild. Absolutely delicious. And, the cheese wedge is pretty basic, but, a nice addition to the meal. I now see why there is always a long line at this cart. And will, most certainly, be a regular from now on.

Christophers is my favorite food cart on the MCV campus. First, because there are so many great options, Food Truck Friday should be the next big thing on campus. If you’ve never tried a food truck before, Christophers should definitely be your first choice. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every food truck ATLEAST twice since I started professional school here in Richmond. I was a little intimidated by the long line but from day one, Christophers held the number one spot. My go-to meal is the chicken salad with a side of fresh fruit and sesame noodles. I know it sounds like a weird combination but together, it’s so tasty and surprisingly filling. They also give you a baguette with butter as an additional free side. I’ve tried the tuna with dill and shrimp pasta before too. They’re both good but doesn’t hold a candle to the chicken salad. In the end, Christophers is the healthier option and is also super cheap. Lunch for 5.75? Hook line and sinker, you got me.

I always get the tarragon chicken salad. It hits the spot and isn’t too heavy if you have to finish out a 12 hr shift. An MCV staple. So I’ve sold you on the chicken salad? For sides the vinegar cucumbers remind me of southern summer. The pastas you can mix and match as sides. If you’ve never been here the cold sesame noodles are a safe bet. Alternatively, if you don’t want pasta, you can choose from fruit or cheese options too.

Consistently delicious, refreshing, and inexpensive. The chicken salad is top 3 I’ve ever had, and that includes my mom’s and my grandma’s. The cheese is a nice size portion, the bread is soft and the marinated cucumbers have a nice bite but still sweet. Best food cart in Richmond.

Generous portions. I love the sesame noodles, chicken salad, and cheese wedge. Best chicken salad ever. Not a fan of the bread though.

Just wanted to stop by and say I’m still obsessed with Christopher’s. I pick up lunch for myself and my coworkers once a week usually(and I always get two meals for myself so I can have lunch the next day!). I still get the fettacine with feta, cucs, and cheese on the side. Sometimes I switch it up and get double cheese — woah buddy! I definitely have a favorite among the three locations, but I don’t want to tell which one and have everyone go rushing over :) Let’s just say that the guy serving is larger than life and your portions will be too!

I like their food. I believe that it has lower calorie than my usual lunch. I enjoyed lunch under the great weather. Some menu is a little salty for me. Overall it is great!

**Warning– if you don’t like your fruit touching your tuna this is not the place for you** I discovered Christopher’s when I moved to RVA last summer. It’s an unassuming stand with some coolers and tables across from the MCV gateway and to the left. It’s not on wheels like most of the other lunch spots and there’s minimal signage. This is some classy stuff for the price. I really like the shrimp salad, sesame noodles, cucumbers, and tuna salad. It doesn’t look like a lot of food but it lasts 2 sittings– if I’m not ravenous. The line can get long but since they are cash only and there’s no food prep(just scooping) it moves pretty quick!

Their food is good, price is cheap, and its prefect for summer time especially if you want something quick and refreshing. I know they have a few locations and there’s one right across from my office. I am not going to point out which cart I got my food from because I know it’s not their fault if something’s wrong with the food since they probably didn’t prepare them. I usually get the chicken or tuna salad with sesame pasta and cucumber on the side. This time, I got the chicken salad and it was good as usual. Except that I found a small piece of rock inside my chicken salad!!! I wish I saw it before I put it in my mouth but no… yuck! I took a picture of the rock if you want to look at it. As much as I love their food. Will not be back anytime soon…

Christopher’s is one of my go-to lunch spots in the summer. I can’t wait until spring hits when I start seeing the cart and I ride the goodness as much as possible until fall. The price point is one of my favorite things here because for six bucks you get a salad or pasta and two sides plus a hunk of baguette. Add a drink and you have a fantastic lunch for less than $ 10! Some of my favorites are the creamy shrimp pasta salad– it has fresh veggies, dill and tasty little shrimp– I also LIVE for the sesame pasta. The marinated cucumbers and fruit are nice sides, but often I stick to the cucumbers and nice hunk of cheese. I’ve also tried the tuna and chicken salad which are wonderful as well. If you’re every around this way for lunch when it’s in season, make sure you stop and grab lunch. If it’s nice, you can sit on the nice grass or benches nearby and people watch and soak up the nice day.

I occasionally hit their food cart by VCU hospital for lunch. The food is quite good, but I find the presentation a bit odd — you get a scoop of meat salad with some sides next to it and a hunk of baguette. I really like their chicken salad, and their tuna salad is okay. I usually get one of those with marinated cucumbers and a wedge of cheese as sides, then I use the baguette to rig up a sandwich of sorts. The cucumbers are really tasty, and they give you more than you’ll probably eat in one sitting. Because this food cart only serves cold food, there is no cooking to be done, and the line moves pretty quickly.

What isn’t great at Christopher’s??? it’s my favorite cart for lunch… Dill tuna salad, Sesame noodles and delicious mixed fruit– oh and don’t forget the wedge of cheese and fresh baked French bread! The vegetable rotini pasta and fettucini with feta. green beans and tomatoes are also yummy choices. It’s seriously enough for two ;) Can’t wait for Spring weather and a Friday stop for lunch!

My favorite cart outside VCU hospital. I’m partial to the chicken salad, cold sesame noodles and pickled cucumbers, all served with a huge hunk of french bread. Portions are substantial, prices are rock-bottom and the owners are incredibly friendly.

As food carts go at MCV, this is one my favorites along with Kenn-Tico’s Wrap Cart. Their tarragon chicken salad comes with two sides and French bread for $ 5.75. I usually get the chicken with sesame pasta and mixed fruit, but their dill tuna salad and fettuccine with feta cheese and tomatoes are also real good. You cannot go wrong eating here.

There are a lot of really good food carts downtown. But Christopher’s is the cream of the crop BYFAR. During the winter, I often find myself daydreaming about when Christopher’s will re-open in the spring. And then even during the warm months when the carts are open, I find myself daydreaming about the next time I can go get some of their amazing chicken salad, cucumbers, and pasta salad. In short, I dream of Christopher’s a lot.

When I worked at MCV, this was one of my favorite food carts to hit up for lunch. And apparently, I wasn’t the only one. If you came between 12−1pm, the line was always going around the corner! They move pretty quick though, especially if everyone knows what they want to get beforehand. Even if you don’t, they have a menu that’s facing out to the side, which you can go over before it’s your turn. Anyway, the food is always fresh and VERY affordable! I always get the fettuccine, feta cheese, and tomato with fruit and a slice of french bread. Delish.

Christopher’s and I have a seriously inappropriate relationship as in I am absolutely addicted to it and there’s no reason I should be ashamed of this. So! I take back the inappropriate part. They are located at several different places during the lunch rush(2 on Main Street, 1 by MCV) and serve an insanely good(and decent amount of food) for not a lot of dollars. I get the tuna salad with cucumber salad, fruit, a baguette and a cheese wedge when I go. The food is consistent and consistently DELISH! My birthday is in February and I had noticed that when Christopher’s said they were closing up shop for the winter that they would be reopening on my birthday. I knew this was a sign and therefore treated myself to their heavenly food on my special day!(Bonus, I also got a shout out on their facebook for having the same bday as them opening back up… yay!) The only(and I do mean ONLY) reason I gave them 4 stars is because they only take cash. I had to go somewhere else one day when I only had my card on me. Womp womp. Go! You won’t be disappointed!
