Clippi Headren

Great salon, chill vibe, cool space. Sara was able to squeeze myself and my boyfriend in at the last minute on New Years Eve no less. My boyfriend got a great cut, and Sara styled my hair with movie star curls and a few cool braids. It was exactly the look I was going for and I’ve never gotten so many Facebook likes from my pics.

Sara did a beautiful, classic style for me for my wedding day, and the prices she charged for the trial and day-​of were fair. More to the point, I don’t know WHEN my hair has looked so GOOD, pretty curls that piled up on each other, parted in just the right place, and it felt like it took no time. And the conversation is down-​to-​earth, just the perfect place to go. Go there, and don’t be put off by the location its awesome!

I have the kind of hair that makes me want to write a behavior plan to specifically address the issues that it has. It is curly, but that weird curly that isn’t quite corkscrew cute. It’s getting some grays which I hate. It was at a weird length because I cut it for locks of love in December.
HOWEVER! I went to see Sara at Clippi Headren and I swear she did something to my hair that has never been done before. She understood the curly aspect of my hair and my desire to have it be relatively low maintenance. She also gave me a cut that I could wear straight every once in a while… y’know on those mornings I have extra time and I don’t think the humidity will undo my hard work? Yeah that will happen sometime in the winter. This is the best haircut I have ever had, hands down. It is manageable, it behaves well and it looks great! The cost was affordable, the staff were not in any way pretentious, the shop itself is great and relaxed — the only thing that could’ve made it any better is if I could have had a glass of wine during my hair trimming. I can’t wait to go back and to continue to have my hair looking absolutely wonderful :) Also! They didn’t push me to buy any products which was nice because I hate when salons do that. All around a WIN!

Charlene is a magician. I’m 25 years old and have never found someone so dedicated to giving me exactly the style I’m going for — she is sensitive to those of us afraid to part with long locks (i.e., wouldn’t dream of cutting off more than you bargained for) but she’s also encouraging and inspiring when you’re ready to try a new look or lose more than an inch or two. she will also make suggestions as to what she thinks will be best for your hair type and your face-​shape. I have long hair, and quite a lot of it, and she’s the only stylist I’ve had who is actually patient enough to give me proper, flattering layers when I ask for them. so long as I’m in Richmond, Clippi Headren is where I’ll be.

I love this place! Chastity has been cutting my hair for a few years now and she never disappoints. Clippi Headren has a relaxed atmosphere and their prices are reasonable. Everyone is easy-​going, but still professional and very talented.
