Came here for take out dinner with a friend this past week. Got the falafel sandwich, stuffed grape leaves, baklava and the Churchill smoothie. It was all excellent! I ate the entire sandwich cause it was just that good. Had the grape leaves the next day and they were also very good. Smoothie was very large and filling. The baklava was made with cream filling instead of the traditional way I’m used to. I prefer the traditional but that’s just me. I’m sure I’ll be back before my internship in the city ends! Great to support a locally owned restaurant with great food!

I was very excited to try this place, especially with many of the raving reviews on Unilocal.Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything special about the fruit smoothies I tried and they tasted like ones that I could make at home. I think they have stopped topping the smoothies with fresh fruit and I was pretty disappointed when they handed me my order. Though the wife was really sweet, at $ 6+ per smoothie, I can’t see myself returning for their drinks.

Had the chicken shawarma and the gyro and the humus. The chicken shawarma had bold flavors. The tahini and garlic stood out. The gyro was more mild. The lamb was not gamy and the cucumber sauce always a good contrast. The humus, made in house, really stood out. Great food.

Haven’t been to Crush in over a year. Stopped in today because my daughter wanted to go. Not much has changed, customer service is still great, restaurant itself still gives off a dark, dank vibe, BUT fruit smoothies are still just as good. So if you decide to have a Crush, make sure you fall in love with The Churchill, absolute best option here, and when you’re done stop by my Unilocal page… I would love to hear if this is a match made in smoothie heaven for you as well. Happy Food(and smoothie) Hunting!

was a bit disappointed with the fact that my smoothie didn’t have the fresh fruit on the top, as shown in the pictures. Kind of pricey too, but I will be back. Good food, as well. Please serve what you advertise though.

Great original smoothies. They name the smoothies after different neighborhoods in Richmond. They use fresh fruit and not powders. Good price! Better than other smoothie places.

I ordered for delivery, and they were super fast. The food was fantastic. I screwed up and forgot that I paid with cash and not card, and the delivery driver was super curteous and understanding. Overall, 10⁄10 would recommend.

I got the Cary town and the church hill. I was disappointed because it didn’t come with the fresh fruit on the top as pictured on Unilocal. I also waited WAY too long for two smoothies. About 20 – 25 minutes. However the smoothies were refreshing and yummy. Hope they pick up on the speed and presentation when I come back!

Crush has great smoothies that are all named after RVA neighborhoods. Can’t wait to go back and try their juice menu, and their newly updated food menu! They just reopened under new management and now offer lots of Mediterranean food options and are going to start delivering next week.

I am very happy that Crush reopened. The new management has expanded the menu to include great Mediterranean/Middle Eastern classics. While continuing to make the healthy smoothies that they are known for. Without a doubt Crush serves the best hummus you can get in Richmond. Their hummus is home made which is proven by its thick creamy texture. You can tell the chickpeas are hand crushed and not machine blended like 99% of hummus in the US(including Sabra) is. I have travelled a good deal across the Middle East and I am usually reluctant to try hummus in the US because it just isn’t hummus. But this place makes the cut. A first for me in Richmond. Their homemade tabouli is also great. Only draw back is that I do not believe that their pita is homemade. However, I highly recommend this place to anyone who like authentic food & fresh ingredients.

You’re in Shockoe Bottom. It’s a hot and humid day and you want something refreshing, cold, and delicious. Look no further than CRUSH! I presume the owner was the nice gentleman sitting out on the porch reading the newspaper when we approached his business. He was friendly, rang us up and we made some small talk. The shop was small but bright on the inside and reflected his fruity smoothie concoctions. Me and my gf got the Church hill smoothie: orange juice, mango, pineapple and strawberries with some cut up fruit on top: watermelon, apple, and pineapple. There was no running A/C going when we came, only a couple of fans strategically placed throughout. it wasn’t terribly hot but we did want to escape the heat of that day. The smoothie came out in under 5 minutes and was brought to our table which I appreciated. The smoothie tasted pretty good, none of that powder stuff that some places may use. I think the best part of it was that they actually had real slices of fruit on top that you could enjoy. Overall, solid spot for a smoothie and I would come again if I was in the area for something refreshing.

They are open for 4th of July! Yay. There chicken wrap is very good. It’s 5.95 and way bigger than chipotle! I got the carry town smoothie it was very good — they have good music in here playing all of the time. I am interested, in trying the lemon mint tea. My boyfriend got the body cleanser vegetable juice it was very thin and tasted much like cucumber! Good and did its justice!

My boyfriend and I were in the mood of getting a smoothie and naturally suggested tropical smoothie. I on the other hand, wanted to try something new. I looked through Unilocal and saw that it had pretty good ratings and decided to try it out. The place had cool, funky colors on the walls and was very clean. The owner was a very kind man and very welcoming. We ordered the Manchester and the carrytown. Both were amazing! It definitely had a very healthy taste to it — so different from the intensely sweet smoothies that you would get from tropical smoothie. Also the presentation of these smoothies was beyond satisfying. Fruits were linked on my straw and granola bits were in my smoothie. Very fun. I didn’t try any of the food but the menu definitely made me want to come back for more!

I came in on a hot, summer day in search of something refreshing enough to rehydrate me after long day in the sun. Crush exceeded my expectations! The stress buster juice was on point. Was a stressed? Not even a little bit — but it was a perfect blend of ingredients for me.

The drinks were good. My step daughter and nephew even liked it. We had the church hill. It was perfect. My son snacked on the banana that came on top too. I would give it more stars, but the vibe was kind of weird in there. They need brighter lights. They also sale baked goods from other stores for a high price(such as a mini cupcake for .75 that you can get a whole pack of for 2.99.)

This place is cute. Vibrant colors and beautiful art work adorn the walls, but it could use a good cleaning! I am not sure how i feel about the smoothies being made behind the curtain. Kinda suspect. I also don’t think I would ever eat anything out of the refrigerators either. Service was a little slow, but the final product was beautiful. The smoothie presentation was the best part of our visit. The smoothie itself was pretty good, not great, but good. The prices were a little steep, about $ 6 for a small and about $ 8 for a large. But it was refreshing and a good meal replacement. We both ordered the Churchill which was orange juice, mango, pineapple and strawberries.

It’s great to find a place that makes chai from actual leaves and not a sugar-saturated powder mix. DELICOUS chai tea latte infused with chamomile.

At 12pm on a Wednesday, the door was open but no one was at the counter for the 10 minutes that I waited. No green smoothies available, all fruit & yogurt smoothies. Tired-looking donuts in a small fridge seem out of place. Meh. I left empty-handed.

Super Huge! Super Healthy! Super Friendly! & Keeps Zombies Away! Leaving New York, I wondered where I could possibly get my smoothie fix in Richmond. Many of the small coffee shops in RVA use sugary powder mixes that turn the smoothie into something akin to a liquid candy bar. Chains like Tropical Smoothie feel like McDonald’s and Smoothie King feels a little corporate like they’re more interested in selling me supplements than what I want. For $ 5.99 I got a smoothie that was not only a work of art(check out the photos) but it was my lunch. I opted for my own blend, which you can create by checking off the ingredients that you want on a piece of paper(like when you order sushi). They even let me name it. «The Slashtipher» is coconut milk, bananas, ice and chocolate. They stick about a half pound of extra organic fruit on your straw. It’s the only time I’ve ever ordered a smoothie and couldn’t finish it and had to take half of it home with me. Gayle, the owner is super nice and we stayed in there about 45 minutes tweeting and checking our emails and hanging out. We never got the«you should leave» vibe. The atmosphere is bright, positive and welcoming and I plan on going back to work there during the day. If you need an RVA smoothie fix. This place is it.(It’s also guaranteed to keep zombies away(as I didn’t see any on the day that I went)

This smoothie placed opened yesterday and it is adorable! The bright colors really make it pop on main. Inside they have cute tables to sit at and a nice display of fruits and other things they offer(I saw salads in there for sure). The staff was super friendly and helpful. You must try the water ice. It’s similar to an Italian ice but made with all fruit and no sugar added! It was absolutely delicious. They gave us a sample of the lemon and the mango. I went in for a smoothie but almost bought the mango instead it was so good. We got the RVA smoothie which was the special Very very good! Presentation was superb with a bunch of fresh fruit. I will definitely come back when in the area!
