Just outstanding! Another great event. Joe’s team met with us before the event, planned a great menu and offered options we just wouldn’t have thought about. Perfect pork bbq, roasted and bbq chicken, wonderful from-scratch appetizers — fresh roasted red beet hummus with garlic, who knew? The desserts were even better. You provided the best food, staff and customer service possible. We look forward to our next opportunity to see Joe and his great folks.

Our wedding was this past weekend. You helped to make the reception such a success. The food was wonderful. People kept asking who did the catering as they loved it. We worked with Colleen and Beth to plan the food. They made the process so very easy. The day of the wedding, we did not have to worry about anything. Beth and her crew were so very professional. The presentation was impeccable. We have been snacking on the take home food they prepared for us. We wholeheartedly endorse and recommend DeFazio’s Catering!

WoW… Thank you Joe. I am so glad I met your wife Linda and she recommended you and DeFazio’s Catering for our corporate outing there in Richmond. From the set up to the food to the service and the clean up, your staff was the best. And oh, did I mention the food. It was like a gourmet chef prepared it. I received so many compliments. Thanks for making me look good. Tim Shaw

I met Joe DeFazio at his stand at the South of the James market, and boy can he talk a good game. He’s from the north-east, moved to Richmond in the early 80s, and has been cooking italian food down here ever since. I think he used to have an actual restaurant, but now he just focuses on catering– corporate events, weddings, etc. He was at the market making sandwiches(which looked awesome, he was sneaking me pieces of proscuitto and arugula while he was making the sandwiches, and it was delicious!) and he had a few risotto balls and scotch bonnets … I had never had a scotch bonnet so I tried it– turns out its a giant ball of sausage with a whole egg inside it! The sausage was really flavorful(homemade from what I could tell), though the egg was hardboiled inside and I like’um soft-boiled(although I am sure they are supposed to be hard-boiled) since they are sitting inside a sausage ball… but overall very tasty. So, would I talk to Mr. DeFazio if I had an event I needed catered? Yup. Will I visit his stand next time I am at the farmers market? Oh absolutely. I’ll be the small woman ordering half a dozen sandwiches to bring home…
