Just because this is the only Filipino food store in Richmond, I went to check it out. But highly disappointed that the home cooked food were not fresh. I visited this store before 11AM on a Monday and I can tell that the owner was just reheating the left over food from the day after in the food counter. Not for me and left without buying; I feel that the price of the groceries are overpriced.

I have been here a few times and I am usually able to find what I am looking for. I mostly shop for pancit noodles, Skyflakes crackers, and a spice packets. The most recent time I went, I stocked up on pancit canton and sotanghon individual packets, which are like regular ramen packets and are great for taking to work or a single meal on the spot. They actually cooked a large lechon for my wedding rehearsal. It was bigger than expected because we ordered a little late, but it tasted great and the Filipinos present were happy to have it.

The items are over priced. I’m from Northern Virginia, comparing prices from there everything is either a difference of $ 1-$ 2. And northern virginia has a higher cost of living.

Being from Va. Beach, I have an appreciation for Filipino food. Not many restaurants in Richmond so I had to try this one once I found it. The pancit is ok. The lumpia was really good. Just like I remember.

Tindahan is more Filipino grocery with a hot bar than a restaurant. I stopped in today hoping to get some pancit and adobo. They had neither :-(So, I got beef caldareta instead. It was okay. Large portion, good price. Nice people. It’s good to know I can get Filipino food north of the river, because there are only two spots that I know of in all of Richmond, and the southside spot is too far for just okay food. Parking is nearly impossible when there are Chuck E. Cheese parties going on.

It’s our go to place when we need to bring food to a party. The quality is a hit and miss — at times the food is delicious and gets numerous compliments ie: the pancit palabok, lumpia, beef caldereta is always a crowd favourite. But there have been times when as the other reviewer stated the adobo or caldereta could be a tad oily and the pancit bland and not very flavourful. The party size portions are huge so there’s always plenty of leftovers. Parking can be a hassle when it’s busy(usually is) so we usually call ahead of time prior to picking up and just double park and run in to pick up.

I have been living in Richmond for almost 6 years and never knew there was a Filipino restaurant/store until now. Well the shopping center it’s in is quite dead. Right by where the Babies R Us used to be. We went inside and seemed like no one was there. The place seems to be quite slow and unorganized. We went to the back to look at the food and a lot of the stuff seemed to be just sitting there. Lucky for them, we were quite hungry and it’s been ages since I had my native food. The Food. –Chicken Adobo: It would be a shame if a Filipino would screw up this dish. Tastes almost how my Lola makes it. Definitely oily though. –Menudo: Again oily. This one had a weird taste to me, but my friends seemed to love it. –No rice! Say what?! Filipino place with no rice. Such a big no-no! Apparently, they ran out along with the Pancit. Good thing there was a Chinese place next door to get some rice at else I don’t know what I would have done. The Service. The Auntie who worked there seemed to keep to herself. I think she runs the place on her own. Overall, it’s a shame there’s a lack of Filipino food in Richmond and this place doesn’t do Fiipino food justice. It needs to have what the Philippines is known for… RICE, LUMPIA, PANCIT on hand for everyone to enjoy.

Asian market and Fiipino foods(pancit, lumpia, adobo, meneudo, and more) tucked away between the Afghan market and Chinese to-go place in Tiuckahoe shopping center. They do fried/grilled fish & lumpia in quantity but you need to call ahead 3 hours. Ask them when they will be having lechon(pork & chicken) and come early.
