I came in on a Saturday night. We were seated right away, but it took more than 15 minutes before we were given a menu and only one. It was two of us. They had to go around the restaurant looking for another one. They took another 40 minutes to bring our food. And 20 minutes extra to bring extra tortillas. The food was ok. The bartender was terrible he cannot make a decent drink. I asked for a Margarita and got a blue looking drink that was room temp. It needed more ice when I asked for more ice and less of the sugary fake lemon stuff. they put on it, the bartender got upset and added more alcohol and more blue yucky stuff. He came back proud and said now this should be better. It was worse I didn’t drink it. I understand that they are not allowed to serve tequila and that why they serve agave juice with their drinks. I’ve had drinks like that but man this Margarita was not good at all. My suggestions to management would be to: squeeze fresh lemons and the taste would be better for the Margaritas. The other would be to be more organized and to train. The bartender he acts like he could what ever he wants he is rude.(the guy with the long hair) I do think it can be better.

The décor is great, staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The owner has gone out of his way to ask my opinion and comp any items that could be improved upon. They are still fairly new and off the beatin path. I had the chiliquilles today and it was very tasty. Refried beans a bit salty and all the food was hot. It’s a bit cold this time of year with the front door open and even with the beautiful heater it’s chilly so dress warm. I’d suggest a curtain to help keep the cold out while keeping the door open.

Been here twice now, once for beers after work, and once for Sunday brunch. First off the salsa that comes with the chips is really good. The restaurant is really big, and it was pretty empty when we went after work, but our server was so nice and the salsa was so good we decided to try Sunday brunch. The place was packed! I started to think the DJ was a little too loud, but then the band went on. They were so great! Made me want to order more cheladas, which I did! Then out came my huevos with chilaquiles on the side. Mmmmmmmmmmm! Really delicious! I asked our server and she said they have bands every Sunday. They should have their liquor license soon, but for now it’s just beer. I can’t wait for next Sunday!!! Great spot, fun atmosphere, friendly staff, good food!!!

After reading several reviews on Nextdoor I decided to give this place a try. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and I would be concerned at night. When we entered the place it showed real promise. The restaurant is large and open. It is nicely decorated and similar to many restaurants you might find in Mexico. The place looks very authentic. The menu is expansive and offers a wide selection of seafood. Now this is where it started to go downhill for me. After we ordered they decided to crank up the music to the extent that it was difficult to hear. We found the food to be edible but the enchiladas were cold. Although the restaurant was rather empty, my daughter’s meal(a grilled chicken breast) arrived as the adults were finishing their meals. There are much better options nearby for Mexican food. Trevino’s and Celia’s comes to mind. If you want to have a couple of beers, eat some appetizers and get down as if you’re South of the Border this might work for you.

The seafood is okay, yet pricey. I think the overall experience would of been better if the service was good, but it was terrible. I will continue going to Mariscos la Playita for seafood.

Tacos are $ 1.49 for Taco Tuesday so we tried them all. — The tortillas are delicious and fresh! — The asada taco was very good, but the carnitas, fish, and chicken tacos were just ok. The carnitas meat was very dry. The chips didn’t seem fresh — like they’d been fried several times. The salsas and beans served with the chips were very good. Since they are new, the place was nice and clean, and the staff was very nice, I’d try them again. Next time I’ll try their guacamole and breakfast menu items.

Real quick in English– If you are looking for some great fresh Mexican food, yummy drinks, spot to watch the game, this is it– give it a try. They opened couple weeks ago, it’s family friendly & there’s Happy Hour! Karaōke Sunday too! Enjoy…
