This food is total slop. I honestly think this is the worst Chinese in RVA. The shrimp toast and egg roll were burnt(how do you even send that out to be eaten) and the lo mein was disgusting and not edible. I will never order from there again. I guess because they are by VCU they get buy on student customers but if you really like good Chinese food this is not it.

I used to have a good review of this place. However after this service and the response from the woman on the phone I will not order from there again. The lid came off the sweet and sour sauce and the egg drop soup and dumplings which spilled in the bag. They were out of two liters so instead of calling me the just didn’t send anything to drink. The order was set for 5:30 pm and it came at 4:30. The delivery guy was very apologetic and offered to fix things however when I called the restaurant to get new dumplings she said I could bring them to her and she would give me new dumplings. She wouldn’t let the delivery driver bring them with the drink replacement they are supposed to send. I will post a picture of the inside of the bag.

You all should really give this place another chance. They have changed owners. The staff is always friendly and quick. The food taste good and is at very reasonable prices. I usually order from the lunch specials menu via …and being a creature of habit, I order the same dish repeatedly. Again, give them a try for some straightforward Chinese food in the VCU area.

Haven’t ordered from here too recently, but I did a few months back. I was just about to order Chinese food for the first time since and thought I should at least warn others not to waste their money here like I did before. I couldn’t even eat this food. I’m no picky eater. By any means. I don’t complain. But I had to actually throw this all away. I literally refused to even feed it to my dog(she typically gets a bit of whatever I’m eating… seemed upset I wouldn’t give her any of this but I reassured her it was for her own good). It’s just… gross. Don’t bother.

I ate at here for the first time. I ordered the Shrimp with Chinese vegetables. The brown sauce was really thick and did not taste good. So I asked if I could get something else without sauce. The lady helping was very nice and accommodating. But I saw one of the employees take the shrimp out of the dish I gave back and rinse them off and I assume put it back to be used again. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Not the best chinese food. The place is really dirty as well kinda run down. I do go here though and have been for years.

Mediocre chinese food. Rude service when you call and slow delivery times. I do like that you can order online, however, if you do order online then plan for your food to take a very long time to get to you because they’ve already been paid.

Quick, consistent, cheap food. No matter what you order it’s ready in 20 minutes or less. Most of their menu is decent — some are questionable. It’s all in what you order. You get what you pay for. My favorite is the egg foo young, the chow mei fun(shrimp and chicken combo is tasty), and their new crab Rangoon is good. The service is spotty, but remember they are a family trying to work it out. I give them the benefit of the doubt — when I go in there, I know they appreciate the patronage.

Just tried this place tonight for the first time. The delivery was really fast it took about 20 minutes to get here during dinner hours. I ordered the general tsos dinner with fried donuts to cover the 10.00 minimum for delivery. Everything was seasoned well. Overall I was happy with my purchase. While it’s not the best or worst Chinese food I’ve ever had it’s definitely worth the money!

Nope. They have decent food, but every single time I order delivery, the staff is incredibly rude, and they like to leave something out of your order(after you’ve paid) and then refuse to return to give you the rest of your food. Not worth it for half-decent Chinese.

They are really rude on the phone but the food is good. No mystery meat and large sized portions. Get your sauces on the side, they tend to drown things. All in all it’s my standby Chinese restaurant. Even though I think the people that run it are massive a-holes, I still crave good chinese food.

I called to place an order for two meals, the person on the other end had me spell out the street name ten times, slowly. After that she noticed it wasn’t in the downtown area however on their website my address was in their range. After 30 minutes trying to order two things and get my address correctly, she said I live too far and hung up. Ever Green values hostility as much as chinese food values rice and msg, All that seems to overshadow the value of a customer.

I ate at Ever Green Restaurant because it’s located around VCU. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken with fried rice. I was not a fan of the General Tso’s chicken at Ever Green Restaurant .The General Tso’s had a unique taste unlike most Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the city. My taste buds didn’t agree with the flavor of the chicken. I would probably pass going back to try another dish. The service was fast. The employees were nice. Ever Green Restaurant has a social atmosphere. A lot of VCU students go to Ever Green Restaurant. There’s street parking in front of the restaurant.

A cheap place(No idea why it has 3 $, you can get a full dinner meal for under 10) Food is pretty good for the price, nothing super exceptional but nothing bad either.(Only had their Chinese not their american dishes) I would not recommend sitting down and eating there as the place isn’t really kept up, just either take home or order delivery. They have an open kitchen so you can see what their cooking and how their cooking, which is nice… you know there aren’t any dogs or cats in the food HA-HA! But, it seems like a VERY typical Chinese restaurant business straight from china, still has that 3rd world communist feel to it like you entered some lower income neighborhood in Hong Kong. All I can say, is a lot of food, and decent food for super cheap! So if you just want Chinese and nothing fancy, this is it.

* Even for a Monday, delivery was fast… and I live on the South Side! * Mixed dumplings were really good. * Crab Rangoones were a bit less then par. They were a bit different shape then the standard too. * Beef & broccoli used a very thick sauce that I think effected the quality of the broccoli & beef as it was overpowering their texture. * General Tso’s Chicken was good.

Ordered from here again last week at the bf’s request. He thinks the steamed dumplings here are the best. I felt like mixing it up so I got the crab rangoons and Singapore noodles. The rangoons were pretty tasty: crispy, creamy and accompanied by a yummy sweet-and-sour sauce. The Singapore noodles might be my new fave! Spicy vermicelli noodles were mixed with shrimp, chicken, pork, mushrooms, carrots and a few other veggies. I’m sometimes wary of ordering meat dishes at Chinese joints(I’m kind of picky about texture) but was pretty happy with everything in this dish. The shrimp weren’t huge, but they weren’t small either, and they tasted fresh. The chicken was also good. The pork was a little fatty for me, but I’ve never ordered Chinese pork before so this might just be the deal. I think next time I’ll try and sub tofu for the pork. In total, though, this dish was spicy, flavorful and satisfying. It was also HUGE! I ate it that night, the next day, and then I put the rest of the noodles into some homemade phở broth for dinner the next day! There was a ton of food there! The bf got General Tso’s Chicken, which was a bit sweeter than other renditions I’ve had, but still tasty. And, it was also a gynormous portion. I think Ever Green is one of the better value Chinese-delivery joints for your money in town. The food tastes fresh, the portions are big, and most things are pretty good!
