Grammy O’s Sticky Buns

Oh oh oh. I don’t care who you are, you are gonna love these sticky buns. A lovely lady named Heather got a hold of her Grammy’s Pennsylvania Dutch sticky bun recipe, and has been whipping up batches of pecan, plain, and raisin at breakneck speed. As fast as Heather can make them, Richmonders are buying them up… and here’s the secret– once you taste one, you won’t be able to walk by her stand without stopping and getting one! They are large buns, individually wrapped, and oozing with brown sugary goodness. I don’t know how Heather does it (though I suspect the secret includes an obscene amount of butter) but each bun is incredibly sweet and moist, and unlike most buns that are dry on the bottom and covered in sugar only on the top, these sticky buns are filled with rich flavor all the way through.
Grammy O’s sticky buns are sold in Good Foods, as well as at the South of the James farmers market and at that farmers market at St. Stephens. But if you need to buy in bulk (they make great holiday gifts, housewarming gifts, or can be served at brunch on a buffet even) your best bet is to order through the website and make arrangements to pick them up at one of the markets.
I don’t mind telling you that, as proof that noone can resist these things, I am now obligated to bring at least a dozen of these sticky buns when I travel to my parents home in Pennsylvania. Sometimes I think my father won’t let me through the door if I don’t have them in hand. They can be frozen, and he has fully taken advantage of that fact and stocked his freezer with as many of these little gems as he can get his hands on. And don’t even MENTION them to anyone who comes to the house– he doesn’t like to share.
So yes, Grammy O’s sticky buns will make you do crazy things. They are that good. Try them.
