Just stopped in for Breakfast on a whim and was extremely impressed. Very friendly staff and they make a good French toast! I’ll have to stop on for some lunch next week when I’m passing through.

Food was ok and they have good prices but the service of the lady who took my order was horrible. She needs training on customer service!!!

This place is awesome! Really good food and friendly service. What I ordered: Café Combo(half soup & sandwich) priced at $ 8.50 –sandwich — Pressed Italian sandwich — it was smaller then I thought it was going to be but it was still tasty! The size of the soup made up for the sandwich. –soup — red pepper gouda was great. Could have been hotter though. There are little bits of gouda which makes for an extra nice bite. I’m only were for a few hours, but I will be coming back the next time I’m in town!

The food here is great! Very fresh, and wonderfully prepared. I generally go for breakfast, and the use of fresh herbs and different aiolis is a nice touch. my favorite item so far is the bacon and white cheddar quiche. I also like ham, egg and spinach croissant with cheddar. only reason for 4⁄5 stars is the customer service. I’ve called twice to place orders and each time, the women answering the phone was rude and very short. when I picked up my order today, I was told there were no bags. but if I really wanted one i could go look by the other registers for bags. I am very big on customer service. As a guest of your restaurant, I shouldn’t have to go on a search for bags.

A bit confusing upon entering at lunchtime; however, the staff was on it make sure people knew where to go/order/pick up. I had the Greek Salad with chicken. It was very good, a great mixture of veggies and perfectly dressed with a low fat feta vinaigrette. A large bowl of salad, for $ 8+, for a quick bite… isn’t too shabby.

Food was pretty good after the waiter finally brought it out how I wanted it originally… The service was poor! I don’t know if it’s because we are a hound couple but we ordered our food and got our drinks about a minute before the food came out. Service very poor

Great for a quick breakfast stop, cheap prices and a nice atmosphere! We chose this place cause it was walking distance, had good prices and seemed to have a great menu variety. Menu online does not match menu in person, maybe because they rotate their items. Seems like a plus cause I look forward to returning! I ordered the Virginia ham sandwich and I really liked it. It was the perfect size and the biscuit wasn’t too thick, buttery or crumbly, that it overwhelmed the sandwich. I am from out of state so I may not be used to such salty ham, but the ham in my sandwich was very salty just like at another breakfast spot I went to previously in the area. As I ate more of the sandwich though, the egg and biscuit helped balanced it out. I also had a couple bites of the bacon and white cheddar quiche and it tasted very fresh. Crust was flaky and filling was nice and creamy. Herbs on top were a little overpowering for me, but I may be used to more simple breakfast flavors and can see how some people may enjoy it. I appreciated the variety of fruits in the fruit salad! Not just honeydew and cantaloupe, and all fruits were very fresh and ripe, so that added to the good start to my day. The seating area is also great as there were quite a few tables and the large windows that surrounded the restaurant provided great lighting. I look forward to going back for a quick bite and great prices!

I really like this place! Food is cooked right in front of you… definitely more of a quick sit down/takeout place but I say that in a very good way! If you need something fresh and quick this is the place to go. A few tables to sit down at and certainly not a full scale restaurant but it’s good food, convenient and the prices are extremely reasonable. Great selection of healthy food as well!

A colleague suggested lunch here. Apparently, she is a regular. I am always looking for a great place for lunch downtown, so I was glad to try a new place. The menu has lots to choose from — soups, salads and sandwiches. There are daily specials, too. Tuesdays are Taco Tuesday! On this visit, I opted for The Blandford, which was anything but bland. It was a lovely warm sandwich of juicy sliced brisket, a tomato jam, salad greens, dijon mustard and munster cheese, all on a lovely fluffy bun. With a drink and a side, my lunch was less than $ 10. Other reviewers talked about dessert, so I will need to make sure I try that on my next trip.

The Blanford is amazing. I get it once a week and still don’t get tired of it. The cupcakes and cronuts are also all very tasty. And they have delicious Blanchard’s coffee.

Small portions and my food was a salt bomb. I ordered the half soup and half sandwhich. My sandwhich was a turkey avocado one but had so little avocado that I went up and asked if they FORGOT it… They said the avocado is in the hummus looking spread… avocado is a hue of GREEN not brown/tan. Oh well… right? Paid a total of $ 10 for my meal with a bag of chips. Just had water to drink. Pretty location though and nice view of downtown Richmond’s city life. I’m looking for a Panera Bread next time I want the same quality food but for a smaller price!

I’m visiting from out of town, and Richmond on Broad looked Ike a cool place to experience something local. Pastries, coffee, quiche, and biscuits and gravy were all on the menu. Although the prices and food were both good — the rude employees are what will keep me from wanting to come back. The cashier was clearly annoyed with having to help me — no good morning, no thank you… simple things. Same lack of response came from the individual in the kitchen — who I would hope would be proud of what he’s preparing. Lots of potential, but based on this experience, they’re not there yet.

Just finished eating The Blandford — Smoked brisket and gouda on a challah roll with tomato jam and chipotle –tomato aioli(also arugula, I believe) and it was absolutely delicious, I’m hooked! One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. I also must say the staff was very friendly. Thanks Richmond on Broad! I will be back in soon!

A co-worker told me about this place and little did I know what excellent salads they have! The butternut squash salad was absolutely amazing!!! So much so that I had to come back the very next day to order it again! They also have great desserts that you can’t pass up. I would recommend this café to anyone looking for a decent and relaxing lunch break.

Great place to grab lunch. Was not crowded at all but they don’t give you a very big sandwich.

Everything we tried tasted fresh and was delicious. We tried the Cobb salad chicken tortilla soup and a fruit cup. Loved everything. Heads up the soup was on the spicier side. The red velvet cupcake was a winner and the lemon although it tasted great fell to pieces while eating it. Glad we stopped in for a bite.

This was the perfect place to grab a yummy lunch with a friend when we didn’t have a whole lot of time to wait around for a complete dining experience. I tried their chipotle barbecue sandwich which comes with mayo and pickles. I would have preferred it to be topped with coleslaw, as is traditional, but the mayo and pickles worked better than I thought. It was a great sandwich that I’d definitely order again. I wished I could have had some fries or some side other than bagged potato chips, but no big deal. The menu is an assortment of chef-driven sandwich and salad creations, and it looks like they have something for everyone. Add-ons are pretty much limited to bagged chips and bottled drinks, though, so that was a bit of a let-down. But it is an order-at-the-counter, seat-yourself kinda lunch spot so I guess that’s typical. They’ve got a good operation going on, and if I’m in the area and need to grab a quick bite I’ll come by again. I probably won’t trek across town just to eat here, though.
