Wow dana, I was there too. I remember you. She was trying her best to get people’s orders out and there was confusion in the kitchen. If you have been there you know how small it is and that there is no place in the kitchen for to go orders. I get it, you want eat, she was frustrated she couldn’t get you seated, but I think you were unfair to call her rude. She was pleasant to our family and we were sitting right up front while you were waiting, which was maybe 15 minutes. You were unfair. Just thought I should let everyone know. The food is great and the service polite, patient and friendly.

Sadly, just this evening, we walked into this Greek West where we were rudely greeted by a white haired older lady who was speaking rudely to one of the 2 other employees(one I think is or was an owner). She said she’d be right with us, and after fulfilling a large take out order which consumed a table suitable for 4, she asked if we were dining in, which we said yes, then she went on blathering excuses about having 2 people seated at two-tops and mumbling the reasons we were not able to be seated. It was unbearably hot, and as more people entered, only to be ignored, we left. So why the 2 star instead of 1 or zero? Because I KNOW, that while this is a small unsophisticated eatery, really small restaurant with no frills, this place has good food. I have been here before, follwed them over when the small Paterson Ave original Greek 4 U joint closed(they had THE best baklava and best macaroons ever) and the last time we went to this location next to DQ we had great service and food. It’s been a while though, and as long as that lady is working there, inhospitable and not smiling and just plain rude, I won’t be going back.

Sometimes I dont feel like driving downtown to get food so I decided to try something closer to home. Greek turned out to be the cuisine for my outing and it didnt dissapoint. This is definitely a whole in the wall restaurant with maybe 6 or 7 tabels and a small openen kitchen. The door was wide open upon arrival with customers already filling up the small room waiting on to go orders. The first thing that caught my eye as we found a table was the pastry case. All the treats looked delicious with a mixture of different macaroons and baklava. The menu itself was simple with a couple of dishes Ive never heard of. I went for the lemon chicken soup to start with and my friend got the spanakopita. You could definitely taste the lemon in the soup which I actually enjoyed but the soup consistency seemed strange to me. The spanakopita came with tzatziki and some veggies which balanced the dryness of the spanakopita. I wish I got the spanakopita when it was made 1st thing in the morning cause I sure it would have been great. The lamb gyro was HUGE and I couldnt even finish it. The pita was like a warm hug with every bite and they did not skimp out on the meat. I also got a greek coffee which wasnt fully mixed all the way so it was watery. The mini chocolate baklava was the perfect size and not too sweet. For the price you pay and the quantity of food you get its a steal. If your going to do take out which seems like the way to go call ahead of time especially if you have a large order. Daily specials vary upon the day and sells out rather fast so get there early. Dine in service was fast considering how busy they were and the staff(a total of 3 ladies) we very friendly.

Ok Greek cuisine is the real deal. Everything we have ever ordered here has been stellar! Every place in town tries to claim the«best gyro» in town but this place seriously has it. The Greek lemon chicken special sells out every week and we just tried the lamb stew special that was superb. The avoglemeno soup is lemony and creamy and not shy on the chicken or orzo which can be scarce at other places. Their pasticchio which is like Greek lasagna is worth every calorie with homemade bechamel sauce and just the right blend of Greek seasoning. I love the fact that they always use super fresh ingredients… No canned green beans or tomato sauce here. only fresh«yaya» style cooking. better than your Greek grandma! The desserts are awesome too… We love the baklava dipped in chocolate, the rice pudding the macaroons and the galakabouriko(sp?) which is like a flaky pastry with custard is amazing! The owner clearly takes pride in her food and for good reason. This is cooking with heart and soul!

This place is the best! I have tried almost everything on the menu and I haven’t been disappointed. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The servers are so pleasant and helpful. Okay, now to the good stuff. Avgolemono — full of chicken and rice. The gyros — perfect spiciness and delectable. The Pikilia platters are amazing. They are very healthy portions of dolmades, olives, pita, hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, tomatoes, cucumbers… Remember, portions are large, plan accordingly. I usually eat so much for lunch I don’t have room for dinner.

The gyro was delicious. Lamb was so tender. And their honey/cinnamon Philo dessert was amazing. A little hidden gem right near my house.

The gyro was really good as the meat was cut thick. The lemon chicken soup was also really good. The only issue was that we could not get fries as a side. However, the gyro was good enough to convince us to go back at some point.

Excellent Avgolemono soup! Loaded with orzo, chicken and vegetables, with a beautifully rich and lemony broth. The baklava was also excellent; tender flaky, yet and packed full of nuts, but not too sweet. The restaurant is small, but it was full when I stopped by for takeout. The Greek lady who greeted me could not have been friendlier or more helpful, and for less than $ 5 I received an excellent 16 ounce bowl of soup and piece of baklava. I cannot wait to go back for dinner. I can see myself trying and loving everything on their authentic menu. A must try!

Love this family-run establishment! Always friendly, fast and the food is just AMAZING! Whenever I want some comfort food, I stop here! My favorites are the Greek baked spaghetti, the stuffed cabbage and the moussakas — all great portions and very reasonable prices!

Food fantastic, tablet service sketchy as server has to do carryout and tables, but ok, they are pleasant and appreciative. Food was awesome, fresh, not frozen entrees that you can clearly taste the love that went into them. Large portions so be ready to share or get a takeout box. Desserts were incredible. Good job ladies!!! We will be back!

This is a hidden gem. It’s plain on the outside and simple on the inside. However, you don’t go there for the décor, you go there for the food. It’s designed as more of a take out place but has a few tables for dinning. Let’s start with the owner(I assume she is the owner). She never stops. This is partly due to what appears to be a good work ethic but more due to the fact that every time I’ve been there, there was a steady line of customers that seemed never ending. Despite her working her hindquarters off, she is always the most delightful and pleasant person I’ve encountered in food service. She is incredibly gracious and makes everyone feel as if she truly appreciates each and every customer. Now let’s move onto the food. One word. Amazing. I’ve had a sampling of what they have to offer and have loved everything I’ve gotten. The Dolmades were a perfect blend of fragrant grape leaves and the delicious filling of spices and rice. The addition of a dollop of the Tzatziki was a nice touch. Speaking of Tzatziki. The Tzatziki appetizer made me question every Tzatziki I’ve ever encountered before. Most were watery salad dressings consistency white sauces. This was a thicker nearly paste consistency that was filled with every flavor you expect from Tzatziki but multiplied by a factor of 100. The pita is possibly the best pita I’ve ever had. If they purchase it rather than making it homemade, I need to find the vendor. The Greek salad was fresh and crisp with ample feta and olives. The Avgolemono Soup is both hearty and light at the same time. Sounds impossible but these Greek wizards made it happen. Now let’s talk about the best part ever. The mega Gyro. Yes mega is the right term to use here because this thing is huge. There is more meat on this gyro than most restaurants would put on four gyros. What makes this great is not simply the volume of food but the quality. The lamb is tender and juicy without being greasy. The salad greens, tomato and onion are crisp and fresh. Add to it that amazing Tzatziki sauce and delicious pita and you have the best gyro to ever visit your tastebuds. All the amazing food and great service and then you get the bill. The prices are low considering the quality of food and the quantity served. I hope this doesn’t change but even if they added $ 2 to the price of the Gyro, it would still be a great deal. This has become a weekly visit for me and I don’t see it changing anytime in the near future.

A great find! The lamb gyro is so tender and absolutely delicious. The pasticchio is huge and one of the best I’ve tried in Richmond. Highly recommended this place. Oh and the Chocolate baklava is a must! The place is on the small side with only a few tables so be prepared. They do a brisk takeout business though!

A cheap and delicious gem. It’s a hole in the wall place that consistently delivers. The staff is efficient and friendly. Only downside is that you will reek of greek food when you leave.

Easily the best greek in the far west end. Easily. in my opinion number two in greater RVA. So. Good. The only better place I know of is Bell Greek in Bön Air. However, this place has very few seats and no outdoor area, so I would suggest Bell Greek over this. Everyone needs to try this place, but go with takeout.

I ended up here because I was hangry and lost on Patterson Avenue. Terrible combination. I was having a terrible, horrible, no good very bad day. It was one of those days where everything that could have possibly gone wrong, went wrong. When I went to my original lunch destination and they were closed due to a kitchen malfunction, I was about to give up and head home. But then… I stumbled upon Greek Cuisine. Finding Greek Cuisine was like finding a drop of water in a desert. I think I almost cried a tear of joy. For reals. They had healthy options and the two ladies who were working were so nice to me. I came in looking obviously frazzled, searching desperately for wifi so that I could go ahead and get some work done while I ate. Well, bless their hearts, they told me that they did not have wifi. Instead of leaving, I opted to stay and get a salmon salad. I’m so glad I did! It was fresh, super savory, juicy, and tossed with the best homemade greek dressing! The pita bread was perfectly soft and chewy. The yogurt dip that came with it? Bananas. Not literally, but you know. Thanks for being the silver lining of my bad day, Greek Cuisine. Next time I come, I’ll be in a better mood :)

Not much to look at from the outside, but what a joy for the tastebuds(and the wallet). For our Friday night date night, DH and I decided to check out Greek Cuisine, which is very convenient to our house. The place is small, with about 8 tables for dine in customers. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and were told we could sit where ever we liked. The menu, while not extensive, did cover all the bases and had a few nice surprises. I opted for several appetizers for dinner — Avgolemono soup, tiropito with tzatziki and hummus with pita. DH opted for the gyro platter, which was served a side greek salad, rice and green beans. I thoroughly loved everything I had. The Avgolemono soup had a wonderful consistency and the right amount of tang. Their tzatziki has to be the best I think I have ever had — thick, creamy and so much flavor. DH cleaned his plate, so he obviously enjoyed his meal as well. The small staff worked hard to make us a wonderful meal. Their take-out did a brisk business the whole time we were there, so it looks like Greek Cuisine must be very popular in the neighborhood. Good. I hope they continue to do well because I certainly plan on coming back.

I took the wrong turn into Tuckahoe Village Shopping Center and ended up at Greek Cuisine West End. I’ve rode past this restaurant numerous times(easy to miss). I was kindly greeted after entering the restaurant by the guy working the register. There’s a sign in front of the restaurant that says«Best gyro in town». It was a no brainer for me to order a gyro with chips. My chicken gyro was delicious. All the ingredients blended well inside of a warm pita. The tzatziki sauce was flavorful. It’s definitely one of the best gyros I’ve eaten in Richmond. It was hard deciding on dessert. I went with the mini baklava(tasty). The employees were friendly(great customer service). I’m glad I decided to stop in for lunch. My meal definitely hit the spot. I give Greek Cruise West End a 4.5 rating.
