Never come back here. I had 2 adult and 3 kids is 5 years, 7 years and my nephew is 9years. When we came there, my husband told my nephew is 10 years. We just came in and enjoy food. The service was super bad bad, we were eating and she drop the bill off during the time we’re eating and leaf very quick. The bill was high price with charged 3 adult and 2 kids. I thought something wrong table. Then i saw her and made sure everything right?! She answered that’s my bill. I thought she had something wrong and came to ask manager. They yelled and laughed at me and said“i told them my kids is 5 years, 7years and 10 years, so 10 years they have to charge full price adult”.How do you think about this? I felt so bad. I never see anther restaurents they charge full price for 10years kid, just here Hong Kong King Buffet…

I went here today and had the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. I realize this is a buffet and not actually even«good» Chinese food; but it was so bad I couldn’t believe it. The food was lukewarm. The crappy buffet sushi,(which I will eat in a pinch normally), was sweaty on nearly empty plates. The food itself was devoid of any flavor but made up for it in toughness. I realized when I saw the crab legs I had made a mistake. They were tiny crab legs submerged in warm water. I finished what I could and went to pay my bill and that was when I got the second shock of the night. The«meal» was $ 17. For one person! There was a general atmosphere of not caring. No one cared that the food had been sitting out for a while or that dishes were empty. I wish now that I had gone with my original idea of 2 chili dogs and a cup of coffee from Sheetz.

I used to like this place, but not anymore. Since when did they get to be $ 15 a person? They are not high end *at all*. In fact most of the food does not taste good nor fresh except for the crab legs. And they were slower in filling them up. Not worth it anymore.

Me and my family used to go here almost every weekend about 10 years ago until they opened up better/bigger buffets closer to where we live. We decided to give this place a try after not going for quite awhile the experience was just kinda«meh». The place feels kinda sticky like a movie theater and the air quality was kinda heavy and musty like that of plane/small enclosed space so my first impression didn’t give me a good feeling about the place. We got four different tables because there was about 22 of us including 6 kids. The air in our room was particularly warm and wasn’t very comfortable. We also only had one server for all four tables and my drink wasn’t refilled until I flagged our waitress down and the plates were not cleared in a timely manner. This is a standard buffet so don’t expect much, besides the typical american Chinese food offerings. They did have steamed crab legs, raw oysters, and crawfish that were pretty decent but not great. They also have a small sushi selection which was also pretty standard. The best thing I got during my visit was the Salmon Sushi. There’s also a grill at this buffet but I am not sure if it’s included? Let me elaborate. You pick your raw ingredients, pork, shrimp, noodles, mushrooms, pineapples steak, etc and they cook it according to how you like it: spicy, salty, sour, sweet, etc. The best thing about this place is that they actually cook the steak to your request. I requested mine medium rare and it was just that! The second time around I only wanted grilled pineapples(I LOVE grilled pineapples) and when I came over the counter they said they couldn’t do it and I asked why especially since I got it the first time. They just kept saying no and just shrugging me off. I have no idea what happened there. The place isn’t very clean for the most part, especially the bathroom, there was paper everywhere and just wasn’t maintained properly. Luckily this place is out of the way for most of us so we are not coming back.

Never going back again service was terrible, the waitress was rude and cleaning with Windex about two feet away from where we were sitting, the food was not all that great either not worth a second try.

We used to go to this place and it was a pretty good deal for the quality of food. However, like many of the other reviews mention, it has dropped the ball. We did notice some of the food was cold and had been sitting for some time. The waitress was not very friendly and was missing for most of the meal(she had another server help while she was in back). It was almost like they did not want to refill our drinks after the first 2 refills. Another issue was the waitress kept grabbing my plate as I was still eating(I mean literally putting the fork down for less than a minute and she grabbed my new plate with all the old plates). However, the selection was pretty good and having crab legs was nice. The hichachi grill was pretty decent and the sushi choice was good We decided to talk to someone about the poor experience and they just said«oh no, so sorry» as they swiped our credit card. We decided to cut our losses and head out. We most likely will not be back.

Hong Kong King Buffet has been open for some time now. In the beginning, this place was awesome but as time went on, the quality of the food and customer service have gone down a lot. The food was warm, not hot, the last two times me and my friends went and our waitress finally picked up our plates after two times of going to the buffet to get some more food. I hope they make a comeback, I used to really like this place

The worst buffet I’ve ever been to. There is virtually no selection and the majority of the dishes had been sitting out so long they were cold and inedible. For the price we were terribly disappointed. An expensive lesson that taught us never come here again.

I used to go to Hong Kong King Buffet often back in the day and thought it was decent if nothing special. I was in the immediate area yesterday with a craving for Chinese and decided to stop in for a quick meal. This place recently reopened after being closed for renovations, so I was curious to see how it measured up to nearby Teppanyaki. The interior has been slightly remodeled(the bathrooms look MUCH better than they did before) and there is new furniture. But the seating layout and the buffets stations are still the same although the buffet is set up a little differently. The food however didn’t taste anywhere near as good as I remembered it being. Everything I tasted was lukewarm and bland with very little spice. The salmon was almost dry and the General Tso’s Chicken had a rubbery texture to it. Their soups were also lukewarm and had a watered-down taste to it. The only thing halfway decent were the crab legs. The worst part was they now have ice cream in little styrofoam cups instead of the great soft-serve machine they used to have. Luckily I didn’t get sick from eating anything. The server was very friendly and quick with water refills and clearing away dirty plates, but ultimately I wound up paying $ 10 for a dinner that was very disappointing. For the same price I could have gone down the road to Teppanyaki Grill and chose from a large variety of food in better quality. At least I know now not to make that mistake again. I’ll never return to Hong Kong King and honestly don’t see them lasting long serving mediocre food especially with a better competitor just a mile away.

The food in general was about average for a Chinese/American/Seafood buffet. They offer snow crab legs on the buffet, but I had to wait over ten minutes just to try them. They only bring out a small amount each time and after waiting an additional ten minutes for more crab legs, I just got other items on their buffet. They just remodeled the restaurant and the wait staff was good with drink refills, but I think I will go back to Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet next time I want the buffet and crab legs. The food at Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet is fresher and you do not have to wait for refills on crab legs. The two restaurants are less than a mile from each other and the dinner prices are the same.

I went here twice last year and won’t be back. First time I had some of the sushi with the rest of the buffet offerings. The hot items weren’t quite hot. I felt sick a few hours later and was scared I had food poisoning. I dismissed it b/c I felt better later that night. I gave it another try a few months later and avoided the sushi. The restaurant had a weird smell… unappetizing, not spicy or garlic smell, just a hot steam table smell. Once again some food wasn’t hot but I learned my lesson and stopped eating dishes that weren’t hot. I didn’t get sick just didn’t feel great afterwards. Just a meal wasted. I won’t go back. It’s a great location– just really mediocre and lack of keeping food hot bothers me. I end up feeling worse after I eat there.

I never really have high expectations for a chinese buffet. When I’m going to a chinese buffet I expect some very generic food with a couple of real mainstays. There was just nothing redeeming at all about this place. Everything felt old, worn, and nasty. I didn’t find one dish that I thought was acceptable and I left hungry. Will never go back.

The food is about average for a Chinese buffet. Nothing is bad, but nothing is great, either. Their selection is about average, too, but they also have sushi and a Mongolian BBQ station, so there are some additional options beyond the buffet standards. The wait staff did a great job of keeping up with our refills, but the cashier barely looked up from her cell phone long enough to ring up our check. The tables and restaurant were clean, at least, though we didn’t use the bathrooms. I guess I’d recommend it if you’re stranded in their parking lot with a craving for Chinese and no ability to go elsewhere. Otherwise, go elsewhere.

One word — Nasty. Alright, more than one. Snuck(yes, It’s a real word) out of work this week for a late 3:00 lunch. I’ve always avoided this place but thought I’d give it a try. Lunch buffet for you and about 500 of your closest friends. 95% of the buffet didn’t look appetizing. I tried chicken w/broccoli, chicken w/mushrooms, egg foo young, chicken teriyaki, spring roll. The only thing worth more than a tasting was the chicken teriyaki. Went to the restroom before leaving but didn’t use.(Reminded me of the Boston rock club restrooms back in the eighties. Nasty. I wasn’t drunk on my visit here.) I will not be back.

I usually love Chinese buffets, but this one should be skipped. Very small selection of traditional Chinese restaurant dishes, sweet and sour chicken, General Tsos, Beef with broccoli, Chicken with Broccoli, and egg rolls was about it. Fried shrimp are okay and the crab legs(add’l $ 5 per pound) were passable at that price. One hot table of «American» food was okay for the kids, but otherwise stay away from it. Sushi had that«not so fresh» feeling as well. The servers were friendly, but communication was difficult. Management seems uninterested and preoccupied. $ 55 after tip for dinner, 2 adults, 2 kids. Didn’t feel as if I got my money’s worth.

I eat here when I am kinda forced into it by my work friends who are hungry for an all you can eat adventure. The host always is on the phone and never really cares for you at all. The food is an adventure in itself. This place makes you pay to feel like bear grills. The beef pie? What is that? The rice and meat is usually okay. The servers in your area do take pride in making sure you have drink and your check when ready. The ice cream machine was good… so TWOSTARS for ice cream! If you want a decent experience and okay food try Hong Kong King. Lower your expecatations and make sure you eat at the lunch price.

the original king of buffets! many have come and gone(rest in peace Great Taste), but this place still lasts! Best things are the snow crab lakes! Eating anything else will be a travesty! and the servers are always cute and pleasant! One of the best places to hold birthday parties, graduations, or just a desire to get together and eat a lot of food for a good price!

Recently went there on 2-12-2010 and the crab legs that I spoke highly about were different than usual. Instead of sweet and succulent the crab legs were a bit on the salty side and a little dry. The rest of the food they had there was good. I just hope the next time I go there everything will be back to the way it was before.

Good food. The wait staff and managers are extremely nice to their customers. Selection is the usual as any buffet I’ve eaten at and similar taste’s too. This restaurant is huge, enough seating for everyone. It’s located next door to Party City in the strip mall where Chuck E Cheese is, right across the street from Taco Bell on Midlothian Turnpike. I ate fried rice, spring rolls, boneless BBQ ribs(very good) and broccoli chicken. Other food I saw were frog legs, pepper steak, pizza, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup just to name a few items on the menu. For my lunch I paid $ 11.35 with a sprite. The price was not bad at all. They do have crab during night selection of food. Crab is also included in your price and you don’t have to pay seperate for eating crab. King Buffet also has a scale to weigh your food so you can get your to go.
