This place is like a hole in the wall, even within the mall. It’s at the back entrance that nobody goes to, but surprisingly this place was packed when my friends and I stopped by. We tried three different flavored egg puffs: original, red bean, and taro. All three were super delicious, but my favorite was probably the taro, I definitely recommend it! We also tried their curry fish balls, which I also highly recommend. It was buy 3 get one free, so we decided to share. It’s a good choice if you come with a group of friends! My friend also got their tornado potato, which is fried potato slices on a skewer. He really liked it! I really wanted to try their pandan waffle or the pandan coconut egg puffs, but we came before dinner so we didn’t want to be too full. I can’t wait to come back to try everything else!

I’ve tried their crepes here, fish balls and shumai and they’re all good. And not to forget my pandan coconut egg puff. This is my favorite. After a long day today, I asked my boyfriend to drive over here to pick some up like a fatty. Lol. Their prices are cheap and I have no complains . Food is always on point!!!

I love their egg puffs from the last time I tried it. This time I wanted try something new so I ordered the fried oysters. It was $ 8.00 and it come with 6 pieces. It was crispy and juicy! You definitely can tell that they used fresh oysters. I would definitely come back for more fried oysters!

This place is a gem. Fresh sugarcane juice and fresh authentic HK street food? Yes please! My only regret is that this is their only location… Real estate is expensive though, so I will continue to trek from the city just for this place. Dat childhood nostalgia is just too much to resist.

Get their Pandan green coconut egg puffs! The flavor is wonderful and sense-matic(not a word, I know) to the taste buds! They offer other unique HK snacks, such as curry fish cake sticks(other seafood sticks), freshly made baked goods and many selected, signature HK delights! I stop by many times to fix my HK craving!

Pandan waffle. That’s all you really need to know. It’s such a hole in the wall in a corner of pacific east mall. Bring cash as they don’t accept plastic. Everything is quite affordable. The store is quite confusing though because they sell so many different types of things that it becomes overwhelming. Stick to the snacks and you’ll be ok. Everything is made to order so expect to wait around 5 minutes. The panda waffle gets me everytime because of the texture. It’s chewy, slightly gummy, and has a hint of pandan. Served piping hot, I just love it.

Hong Kong Snack House serves authentic Hong Kong style egg waffles, fresh fruit and ice cream crepes, freshly pressed sugarcane juice, Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches, various Hong Kong street snacks like skewered fish balls and squid, dim sum shumai dumplings and rice rolls, and more. The shop is located inside Richmond’s Pacific East Mall(same building as 99 Ranch Market) in a small space where seating is almost non-existent. This is a cash-only establishment. This place looks like a mess because everywhere you turn there’s another sign or color printout advertising one of the shop’s many offerings or limited-time-only promotions(e.g. they have multiple BOGO-type deals). The signs are printed in both Chinese and English. All this can be a bit much unless you know what you want. There are five preset crêpe varieties to choose from(e.g. the #2 crêpe consists of banana, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and popping boba). Alternatively, you can customize your own crêpe out of different ice cream flavors(vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, green tea), fruits(blueberry, raspberry, mango, strawberry, kiwi, mandarin orange, banana), and syrups/sauces(Nutella, strawberry, mango, chocolate, whipped cream) for about $ 5 – 7 per crêpe depending on the number of ingredients. I saw a buy one, get one free special for mixed fruit crepes. Fresh sugarcane juice appears to be the top-selling beverage. Other juices include mango, coconut, durian, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and strawberry. However, I’m not sure if any of those are freshly prepared like the sugarcane juice. One tall disposable cup of juice(any type) is $ 4. There are about a half-dozen Vietnamese sandwich varieties containing ingredients such as BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, ham, pork ear, and pork patties. There’s also a vegetarian banh mi. These sandwiches are served inside French bread with cilantro, jalapenos, and pickled veggies. They’re about $ 4 apiece which is pretty reasonable. The Hong Kong style egg waffles(gai daan jai) are where it’s at. This popular snack is also referred to as egg puffs or eggettes. These waffles, made with egg batter, have a unique spherical/bubbly shape. Hong Kong Snack House sells almost 10 different flavors of egg waffles ranging in price from $ 2 – 4 each. They sell both flat«traditional» waffles and the egg puff variety. I recommend the latter since they’re generally harder to find. The egg puffs here are freshly made and delicious! Since the egg puffs are made to order, there is a short wait for each one. They’re served nice and hot, so be careful handling and eating them immediately. These are warm and rather satisfying snacks. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the flavors(plain, pandan leaf coconut, chocolate, strawberry, red bean). Pandan leaves are green leaves commonly used for flavoring in Southeast Asian cooking, often found in desserts and snacks. No toppings or condiments are needed for the egg puffs. They taste great on their own, even the plain old«Hong Kong Style Egg Puff»(#5 on the menu). If you do get a flavored egg puff, the filling is on the inside of the puffle. The egg puffs come in different colors depending on flavor. Other various foods and snacks for sale include fried foods such as chicken nuggets, fried chitterlings, and«Tornado Potatoes.» A Tornado Potato is a fried potato that is served on a skewer. The potato is cut in a way where it appears to swirl around the skewer like a tornado. There are also a couple freezers inside the store containing both sweet and savory frozen treats including fish balls. Finally, there is a banner with a drawing of Barack Obama with accompanying text that reads as follows: «Barack Obama Stimulus Package. If You Buy 3, Get One Free.» The stimulus package advert does not specify which product this applies to. Service is fine.

My family has ordered from here multiple times, but the service my family has received for quite some time is just straight up awful. First off my family was ahead of 5 people and they all received their order before us. At first I thought it was because we ordered a lot, but we ordered crepes and everyone else who ordered crepes got theirs first. Regardless of how long it took them to prepare other food it seemed like others took priority over us. It felt like others who spoke the language of the man taking orders took priority over us, and got treated much better than us. I know that sounds harsh but this has happened multiple times and I’ve seen the pattern for myself. This has happened multiple times and I do not believe that decent food(pricey as well) makes up for awful service. My family and I have given this establishment many chances but our patience has run thin.

The place looks like a ghetto Hong Kong style snack spot but they serve tons of snacks. I always get the fresh sugar cane juice for $ 4 from here!

The squid balls was ok, nothing special. I told him i didn’t want my crêpe to be crispy but he totally forgot when he was busy going around and doing other things.

Been coming here for years but today is the last time After spending $ 3 on a waffle and asked the guy to put some a bit of ice in my boba tea granted(which was from asha Tea house) he said he would need to charge me. Wtf? For frozen water you need to charge me? I told him I just bought something… he said he would still need to charge and told me to go back to Boba place to get more ice. For the miniscule cost of a few pieces of ice you have lost a lifetime customer you cheap ass a hole. Bye felicia!

CASHONLY! I come here every time I visit the Bay Area because they have THEBEST taro egg puffs I’ve ever tasted! I agree with other Unilocalers that it IS pricier versus other places like Quickly – BUTITISDEFINITELYWORTHIT! They offer many other favors(i.e. Pandan and strawberry) as well but I enjoy taro the most! They make it fresh to order so expect to wait a bit(3 – 4 minutes) before your order is ready. There’s also usually only ONE worker on at a time so please be patient. This is an EXTREMELYTINY business and is strictly a to-go place so don’t expect to sit and eat your food. They offer a wide variety of both sweet and savory foods like fish balls, squid, crepes, dessert waffles, smoothies, fresh fruit juices, Banh mi’s, etc. I don’t know how they pack so much stuff into such a small space! I haven’t tried any of their other items but they smell pretty good. Overall, a must visit for the egg puffs!!!

Cute little snack hut in Berkeley This place is hard to find, in the back of a mall, but is quite a gem! The place is very, very small, with only one person stationed usually, but they sell a huge variety of snacks – even just the egg puffs alone had 4 different selection of flavors. wooot. In terms of food quality, the snacks are pretty legit. The fish balls are small but chewy, and the squid and meatballs had a lot of really good sauce on it. They even loaded the thing with crazy amounts of hot sauce so you know it’s the reeaal deeeaaal yoo Def. recommend stopping by this place whenever you’re in the area!

This was fun! Fiancé Carl & I stopped in for an adventurous date night. We chose to split a mixed fruit crêpe. It took seconds to make and while taking pictures and checking in we were told«buy one get one free. Today only! Special!» Thanks so much! I’m very happy that we had one each. We both gobbled them up. Very tasty!

I’d been wanting to try this little snack house for such a long time, but it’s always closed when I’m in the area. It was finally open this past Saturday night, and I stopped by with my friend to try some of their Hong Kong style egg puff since he’d never had them before. This is a little hole in the wall place with no seating; you just walk in, order at the register, and wait for your food. It’s also cash only, which is to be expected. Receipts also don’t seem to be the norm here. but service is relatively friendly, if spotty because there’s not a real order to service. We tried the original version( ), which was around $ 4, a little pricier than other places I’d had it at before, but it was pretty well-made. The outside was crispy and browned, the inside was light and fluffy, and the eggy flavor was fragrant. I noticed that the other flavors were pricier, which is a slight turnoff. We also got the honeydew juice blended with ice( ), which was good and very honeydewy, but again a little pricey. I believe this was $ 4 as well, and they were having a special that day for buy one get one free or else I probably wouldn’t have gotten this. I might stop by again to try their mixed fruit crêpe or durian egg puff(I’m such a sucker for durian anything), but I wouldn’t come here specifically.

Everytime I am here, I gotta HAVE their coconut egg puff waffles! If I don’t come by for them, I’ll go nuts! I literally come to pacific east mall for this place. And it doesn’t hurt that when you purchase 3, you get one free from the«Obama stimulus package.» Haha that’s literally what it says on their front business. It’s a definite must try for their coconut egg puff waffles! After my first try, I got hooked. I wish they had one of these in Sacramento! Quickly’s just ain’t cutting it for me. I WANTHONGKONGSNACKHOUSEWAFFLES in Sacramento! Please open one there! I’ll be your #1 customer! Haha!
