The food is fabulous. Richmond has many good Indian restaurants and this is a great one! Reasonably priced and 5 minutes from Short Pump.

The food is great! I had the samosas –crisp and stuffed with just the right amount. The Malabar fish curry was sweet and savoury. Just the right pairing with the paratha to soak up the curry lol. The pepper chicken was succulent and not too spicy. But if you want the extra kick, it can be made to order! The staff was friendly but not overbearing. A quaint space with wonderful food! A touch of music would be a good additon to the ambiance.

This is one of those hole in the wall places that has the best authentic food. This one happens to be Indian. My two favorite Indian dishes are Chicken Saag & Dal Tadka and the lady here does them up perfectly. Not too much cream in the Saag. Good texture and spice blend in the Dal Tadka. So good that I had the leftover Saag for breakfast today and finished off the Dal Tadka for dinner.
The décor though leaves much to be desired and I would probably use it as a take-​out spot only unless I am hanging with regulars.

Well, I could have been more generous and had given 3 stars but that won’t encourage improvement.
Here is my rating broken down:
Food quality = Good or ***
The curries were good. You get South Indian veg or non-​veg plates. Yeah, no more choices: take it or leave it. So, curries are South Indian and good.
Food Price = okay or **
The non-​veg plate cost 10.50 and extra roti costs 1.50. But the roti size is really small and you get very small pieces of chicken in smallest bowl available in the world.
Ambience = bad or *
It’s mainly a bar place with some dining tables. I personally hate bar smell. There isn’t enough air conditioning and I have been here in winter and summer. It smells bad. The rest room can allow only 1 person and isn’t in its best condition either.
Summary:
Definitely not going if I have to take a girl for lunch.

Great home like food. Perfect spice level, great variety. We love the food. Taking 1 star away for soggy papad, inconsistent roti quality.
We will be going every weekend :)

I am a very very good fan of Hub Grill VA along with my Wife. We went to this place for almost a dozen times, we always get a fresh and tasty food. All the food that we ate was of very good taste. I ordered food for my baby shower and taste of the food was above our expectation. Price is very reasonable.

Awesome Indian food. Homely taste. Specially they serve in thali and katories which add more homely feeling. Afternoon veg and non veg thali is awesome. During evening its awesome to sit at the back in open place. In am. non vegetarian awesome chilli 65, pepper chicken, chicken chettinad. The beer are cheap. Last if someone interested in phulka they serve that which is brilliant. I will rate 5 stars. hope they continue the same quality.

The most disappointing Indian food fare I have had in a very long time. Service was horrible. We ordered Thalis which took almost half an hour to deliver. The curries were tasteless. The price was way too high for the quality delivered!

Hub is a newly opened Indian bistro. I always went for the lunch thali that is there. It’s nicely served with 1 Big chapathi, 6 Veg curries and 1 Non veg curry typically chicken curry. The veg curries change everyday. The food is homely, spice level a little bit on the higher side. The serving is done in a very friendly manner with a personal touch. You can re-​fill the curries and rice as many times as you wish. Only thing is the location is a bit far off from the regular hum drums if Richmond and they’ve not yet got a proper parking place. Visit herebif you want fresh tasty Indian food!

This place is the perfect option for everyday lunch. You get the everyday indian food served in indian style thalis and katoris. The food it always fresh and tastes good. The service is good too.
They get extremely crowded on Friday so plan ahead.

I went to this restaurant after looking at the reviews written by others, while i was travelling via Richmond VA with my friends on Jan 1st. (not a right day to go to this kind of restaurants).
Few things i wanted to share:
1) Due to reasonable prices, many indians flood here.
2) No menu cards
3) Owner was very very rude, he said «this is how we serve «- very sad that the owner is thinking he is doing a courtesey giving the food to that price. HE has same road side indian restaurant mentality.
4) 1 chef, 1 cleaner, 1 order taking person.
5) No proper management.
6) quality of rice was below average.
7) Quality of chapati’s very poor.
my suggestion is: i do not recomend this restaurant.
Sorry! Hub Grill — If you need customers you should not think only lower the money but good service and good management of the restaurant.

Best food ever. We went twice in one week. The vegetarian thali was very authentic. We complemented the cook and learned he worked in saravana bhavan chains all over U. S and it shows.

We were here before the official opening. Even though the menu wasn’t totally finalized and the ABC licence hadn’t come through, the food was delicious with large portions. My husband and I split biryani and thalis. All really well spiced and each one so different. I hope they start delivering!
