Took 2-stars off– lost a star for overcharging me $ 10– it’s just 10 bucks yes I know but it’s the principle– shady business is a no-go– the itemized bill was for $ 83 but my card was charged $ 93 and that wasn’t for the atm fee. My bad for not checking right there — don’t judge it’s 62 pcs of chicken for a party. Krispy Chicken lost half a star for the jambalaya — that was not pleasing to my tastebuds and was a waste of money. A half a star was also deducted for selling chicken in a gas station– although I guess it’s okay, but it just wasn’t appealing– hopefully they pass their health inspection. Other than that, the chicken was damn Krispy, as promised and not oily at all, surprisingly. I also enjoyed the biscuits. If you are ordering a large quantity, order ahead, a day if possible. If not a couple of hours will do. If you get caught between a gas station on 23rd in Richmond, grab some fried chicken for a tasty treat.

I have a legit fried chicken addiction. I’d like to consider myself a connoisseur of it. This is hands down THEBEST I’ve had so far, even better than my momma’s(but she doesn’t need to know that). My parents used to own a fried chicken shack so I have cred. I am currently interning at the Kaiser in Richmond and I had my first taste of this delectable guilty pleasure at a potluck. Nurses love potlucks, and nurses love good food. These nurses are all addicts of this crack-chicken and that’s when my love affair with«gas station chicken» began. Is it wrong that chicken this good comes from a gas station??! Who gives a shit, this is the real deal. Don’t judge til you’ve had it. I had the two piece White meat with jambalaya. The chicken breast was juicy and perfectly seasoned and the skin was heaven but hell at the same time. I’ll worry about my arteries later, like when I’m 40. For now, c’est la vie!!! The biscuits… what biscuits? It’s like eating air cuz they’re so fluffy and buttery. They really do melt in your mouth. The jambalaya was ok, a bit mushy for my taste. I’m Chinese, I like to see my rice granules ;) but that chicken doeee… mmmmmm mmmm mmmmmm. DOIT!

Heard all the noise from my friends and coworkers and finally tried it out for myself. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the bicuits are just like Bourbon St. on a Friday night and I was at Marte Gras this past Spring. Good fast food in tha Rich.

Not sure how many will try this and I can understand why not. Its hard to imagine that gas station fried chicken and biscuits can be among the best I have ever tasted, but yes, its true, just turn off your sensory receptors while buying and ordering and withhold judgement until you have tasted this fantastic treat, and yes, its cheap. The chicken is Halal and looks and tastes fresh and delicious.
man, have i been missing out. I got many friends that work at Kaiser Hospital in Richmond down the street from this place and they always talk about«the chicken at the gas station is off the hook», I was pretty skeptical about chicken being sold at the gas station thinking propane and chicken don’t get along. But if all my friends are talking about it, I had to give it a try. The place is def. in the hood but i walked into the gas station and noted it was clean. no cockroaches or bugs or gnats flying around, it was clean! Then BAM, i looked straight and saw the golden fried chicken with a value menu. I ended up getting a 4 piece of cajun chicken with fries and man, my first bite, i automatically knew, this chicken right here was more tasty and delicious than ur average popeyes, churches, or KFC. I will definitely be spreading the word about their chicken amongst all my friends now to spread the word of this fabulous«hood chicken». It’s even halal chicken which is even cleaner and healthier to eat. You can see the cook making the chicken fresh so you know the chicken hasn’t been sitting in the warmer all day. They also have red beans, rice, and all the sides you need to eat with your chicken. There was a line to the door for this chicken when I went to give it a try. Thinking about the chicken right now as I write this is making my mouth water. Maybe its time to go back? I should come up with a motto: «hood chicken is the best chicken», i can picture that as a sticker on my bumper. Believe that! The biscuits are off the hook too!

The fried chicken here is great. tops popeyes and kfc in my opinion. The biscuits are also very tastey. Prices beat the big chains as well. 40pc for 24.99 of legs and wings a must have for any kick back or bon fire and the wings are chunky as heck. kinda sketchy its at a gas station but once you munch on your order you wont trip off it much.

Its true that throughout the South you kcan get a full meal at many gas stations so when I saw this place on Unilocal and was driving through Richmond I said I’d give it a try. OMG this place was beyond wrong ! let’s start with the smell of old grease as you pull up to the gas pump, I could have lubed my car with the excessive grease from the chicken that had been sitting under those lights seems like forever. As I got into my car and traveled the freeway back to Oaktown I bit into one of the biscuits and all I can say is dammmmm dammmmm dammmm ! how hard is it to known when a biscuit is done? I got a mouthful of uncooked biscuit dough damn damn damn. Well live and learn.

Really good fry chicken and those biscuits are amazing. The great thing about this place is that its halal chicken which is rare to find in the bay area. I onky wish the the restaurant was its own place and not in a gas station. But hry whatever works as long as they stay open.

Don’t go the food is nasty. I ate here and the chicken tasted like it was made in old oil.

From the outside you may say oh no I don’t want to go there, but trust me, the food is every bit worth it. When you step in the combination gas store and krunchy chicken store, you will notice that it is very clean and illuminated perfectly. Then you see the chicken, ahh it looks beautiful. As we approached the counter the owner greeted us warmly and left us to make our choice. The chicken and sides are kept hot and fresh at all times. We started talking to the owner and he explained to us the dynamics of franchising and why he thinks the chicken here is better than other alternatives near by. He said that KFC doesn’t drain the blood from their chicken well and as a result the meat has a bad smell when being eaten; and he was right! The owners of the store are Muslim and as a result the food served is halal. And man oh man is this food good. This is without a doubt the best chicken I have ever had. Because of the meat being halal the blood is drained completely the owner explained and boy does it make a difference, the meat tastes very clean and is tender and the seasoning shines through the crunchy exterior perfectly. I think I’ve had a fried chicken epiphany, and after today I won’t accept chicken from anywhere else but this place. Don’t hesitate to give it a try. You won’t regret it.
