Employee that worked today was cool greeted me and asked if I needed help and let her know I was just browsing at the moment, she was alone with about 3 customers including me, all while rearranging hats.

What can i say… Well its a well maintained store to an extent. My biggest problem was with the costumer service. Every single person in there acts very unprofessional. The last 2 times i went in there, there was 3 people working. 1 behind the counter watching a magazine, another behind the custom hat maker on his phone and smacking his mouth chewing gum, and the last one on a stool refilling an empty hat slot with his pants half way down his butt. I asked how much would it cost to get a custom logo on a blank hat and they all answered differently. The guy on his phone seemed like he didn’t know what was he doing, then he came to the conclusion that i needed a flash drive with a jpeg file of the image i wanted. I came back a couple days later with a flash drive and this time i got greeted by one solo person in the store, everything seemed cool until one of his friend came in and asked if they was going to get high after work. Another worker came back from her lunch, she was trying to help me with the custom hat while playing music through her phone and singing it while helping me(i am not from the VOICE). But then she got a phone call from her boyfriend and started talking about what were they going to «do» after work. smh… At the end of my visit, i didn’t end up getting a custom hat because the file type that the first person told me to get was the wrong one. I really hope upper management makes a change in that store. They need to really hire people that want to work, and have real knowledge of the product they are paid to endorse.

DANIEL was very rude. Called in regarding a order that I had placed online to have shipped to the store. Said it was not there! Called customer service had them call the store told them it was there. If I worked at the mall at age 30 maybe I would be upset too. Fyi If you don’t like your job maybe you should quit. Your too old to be playing games with people’s shit.

Hilltop is not the place you’d want to come to go to a mall. Employee was on his phone the whole time when I came in one time. Other times I have been helped during my shopping. Across the way from Macy’s on the bottoms level near all the military recruitment services. It’s good to have a lids nearby when you order a hat online and have it shipped to a lids store to save money on shipping. This lids is nothing special. Hit or miss but mostly a miss. Employees are not that knowledgeable about their products. The store is kept clean and well maintained. A little disappointing but not many options of hat stores in this area of the eastbay.

IMO, if you don’t like your job then fake it until you make it. I’m all about good customer service and I don’t have a problem with calling you out if your personality is funky. I love the company as a whole but if I can help it I will not be returning to this particular location anytime soon, I’ll gladly drive extra miles for better customer service. A word of advice, check your attitude and rudeness at the door, you may not be as fortunate to have a mild mannered individual the next time you display shitty customer service.

Went here to look for a birthday present for my bestfriend. Employees greeted me promptly as soon as I came in. Great service. Although I end up not buying anything, they were still cool.

This store has steadily declined over the past year. The selection isn’t as great as it once was. The employees are pretty mindless and usually never greet customers or offer to assist with caps that are pretty high up on the racks. And my most recent problem was with an order I placed online and opted to ship to store instead of my home to avoid the shipping charge. I ordered the hat at the end of June and over three weeks went by and I still hadn’t received an email or phone call from Lids. I called customer service and the representative called the store and verified that my order was in fact already delivered. She went on to say that it had been delivered over a week ago and that the store had called, which was a lie. I never received a missed call or a voice message. It’s safe to say that no worthy employee did their job and made the call, as they should of. Oh, well. It’s Richmond.
