McDonald’s

Worst fast food restaurant in Richmond. Don’t believe me, go a couple of times. OR Take the extra five minutes and go to the one near the Amtrack or any other one for the sake of argument.
Over the years, the stories and disappointments from so many people (including myself) have me wondering how this place can remain so incompetent and careless (I’d also add still in business but it’s McDonalds, they will always be open).
The stories range from attitude towards you when your order is wrong, the order being wrong in general (every 2 – 3 visits something will be wrong or missing), and just simple unintelligence. Ordered a double hamburger one time and I was told they didn’t have it, so I ordered a double cheeseburger no cheese! Hahhahahah. Really??? Ordered ice cream, paid for it and then was told they broke down the ice cream machine for cleaning ?? It was 6:30 pm!!! Hahahah. A month ago had three out of four breakfast sandwiches wrong! (Only 1 was modified for egg whites and cheddar). Once I had a burger I ordered with no cheese and no ketchup given back to me three times with either cheese, ketchup, or a combination of both! Hahaha. I’ve been victim of the missing has Browns before but when you forget to hand someone their drinks, I mean come on… Really? The list goes on and on but I do want to end on a note.
STOP asking for $ 15 an hour. I’m not saying it’s y’all or just y’all, the only reputable restaurants that I would say deserve anything close to that wage (and I don’t think it should be as high as 15 an hour) is Chik Filet and Arby’s (or the lady who makes the biscuits at Hardee’s on staples mill because she’s been with the company for many many years). Do your jobs right and stop complaining!!!

The morning crew is just beyond rude and also very unprofessional! They will give you anything, nothing is ever fresh unless you ask them to make it fresh! It is so sad just to know that the staff simply doesn’t care. They warn everything up in the microwave and toss it in the bag.

So, let’s get this straight. This isn’t a 4 Star restaurant, but as far as McDonald’s go, I think this one is pretty nice. As it’s not really unique, I won’t go into a full review, but just mention parts that I find noteworthy.
The location is very conveniently placed if you’re going grocery shopping at the newly opened mega Kroger or Target. It’s pretty easy to get to and has it’s own lot.
The interior design, at least in the evening /​night, is appealing as the lighting is low and orange. I could see where people that like bright white sanitation room lighting might not like this. The rest of the interior has booths, stools, and tables, and looks pretty nice. Everything we saw was clean, but we went at like 7:00 PM when it wasn’t busy.
We’ve only used the drive thru once or twice, but didn’t have any problems that I recall. I’m sure it differs from what hours and days you visit.
The food is McDonald’s food; no more, no less. I got my usual McDoubles with Fries and everything tasted like I expected.
We’ve never had any problems with the staff like some of the other reviews have had, but at the same time, I’m sure the staff changes super frequently based on the year and times.
Verdict? We like this McDonald’s. It’s better than some of the ones in the area.

The staff is as unprofessional as they come! Slam the window on you before you can ask for condiments (they never offer) sometimes they will have your bag hanging out of the window waiting for, I’m guessing this is supposed to speed up service… right. It’s not this location majority in Richmond are this way. The food is hardly ever fresh this chain has really gone down hill in the recent years which is sad because I loved Mickey D’s as a kid.

This conveniently located McDonald’s is the last fast food stop if you are traveling West on Staples Mill. Sometimes the staff can seem a little ghetto. And sometimes the wait can be long regardless of whether you are in the drive through or inside. The food is typical.
