McDonald’s

I stop here several mornings a week for a McCafe beverage and the occasional yogurt parfait. This is definitely a better alternative to the Connersville McD’s — the drive-​thru moves a lot quicker and I have yet to see any barefoot hoopies hanging around the inside. Most of the staff is very friendly. The beverages are made to my liking. Oh, and a bonus: they offer «Rewards Cards» that give you a free medium McCafe of your choice after you’ve purchased four.
I cannot think of anything bad to say about this particular Donald’s location, hence the four stars. Y’all know it’s not really a four-​star restaurant.

I’d like to say that McDonald’s is just the greatest place on Earth to eat.
I can’t say that, but it’s not all bad. The food is consistent and probably won’t offend anyone.
When I entered, the doors seemed clean and no one yelling «May I help you?» the way we used to do when I worked at two of the stores.
I ordered a Filet O’ Fish meal. I expected the counter help to suggest the 2 Filet O’ Fish deal, but there was no suggestion. (On a previous visit with my mum in 2010, I recall a 2 for 1 Filet O’ Fish deal and I had a disagreement over what the deal was. In the end, I ended up paying more for a meal with an extra sandwich.) This visit was no better, so maybe the management doesn’t like selling promotions.
Getting my drink, I noticed the usual lack of care that I see in most franchise stores, which are better than company stores in general. It wasn’t dirty, but it also wasn’t neat. Sitting down, there were old, dried splashes on the wall next to the table, as well as dried splashes on the floor more recent. One of the tables was visibly in need of a towel. The ceiling tiles showed signs of water damage.
As I sat there using the WiFi connection, which was quite usable, a manager appeared to be leaving. He stopped just past me and seemed to look around the area. He returned to the counter, mentioned something not to do with the shabby look, and left the store. I would assume that he isn’t paid to care.
The sandwich was made correctly, though the fries were lukewarm.
It’s McDonald’s and had I not worked at 2 locations, I’d say that it couldn’t be done better. However, I don’t think I care any more than they do.
