Loved this place. Chef made me something off the menu vegan friendly! Extra nice staff and very accommodating.

Are you kidding me? Did we eat at the same restaurant as the good reviews? I changed my mind about my order within five minutes, but the cook told the waitress he had already started it and would not accommodate me. So, I had chicken marsala that had weird cut-up chicken. My boyfriend had pork chops that were so tough he could barely cut them. Combine this with hard, cold bread and a tiny salad(we asked to split a nice Greek salad) with no extra plate, and this is by far the worst meal I’ve had in Richmond this year.

I had a great dinner experience with my mom, wife, and two daughters(4 and 1 year old). The waitress was very attentive and caring. The food was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I are both children of Greek immigrants. We were both extremely shocked to see some of the poor ratings on here. We have eaten at Omega on several occasions and enjoyed it very much each time. The staff was friendly and the food delicious

They say they are open till 10:00…but don’t believe it. It looks nice through the window.

I visited for a quick drink and had a very pleasant experience with the bartender! She recommended a tasty upgrade to one of my favorite drinks and I must say, it was DELICIOUS. I will definitely be back.

Wow! Glad I just found this hidden gem! Rainy night and I just wanted a gyro and fries. Omega is cozy & has great atmosphere. Walking up to the door, I met a fatherly gentleman who’d just stepped outside to rub and smell the fresh rosemary and herbs. My great great aunt used to do that when I visited her farm. I’ll DEFINITELY be back with friends and family. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is because I was alone & only bought a sandwich. Looking forward to trying more substantial dishes. Oh, the lamb pita(similar to a gyro) was delicious!

We love this place. Their french onion soup is great! Although a silly thing to comment on, I’m very picky about it because it’s one of my favorites and these guys make it just right. Their spicy shrimp pasta is excellent and the portions are big which I love for lunch leftovers the next day. Best souvlaki sti pitas(gyros) I’ve had. The staff is so friendly. We are warmly greeted every time we come in and the chef always makes a point to come out and say hello and ask how our food is. Also, they supply us with 10% off our entire dine in/take out certificates quite frequently which is awesome! I rate this place over Stella’s any day; great food without the long wait and stuck up staff.

Found a babysitter and visited Omega for the first time the other night. As a 2nd generation Greek in America, I must warn you that my rating system for Greek restaurants is probably more discerning than the average customer. That being said, my wife and I enjoyed the meal and service. Our appetizer of tiropita was just like my Yiayia(grandmother) made when I was younger. My wife had the lamb shank which had more allspice than I would have liked but my wife thoroughly enjoyed. I had the roasted lamb which was excellent. The waitress was very polite and attentive. No concerns there. The ambiance was cozy and I especially liked the Greek pop music playing in the background. It was very empty… but it was a Sunday night. The only reason I didn’t rate Omega a 5 is that the avgolemono soup was watered down and the green beans had a pungent spice that stayed in my mouth despite repeated refills of water.

I am very happy that we now have a Greek restaurant in my neighborhood! We found the entrees to be tasty, a good size, and very reasonably priced. We ordered moussaka, pasticcio, and stuffed salmon. All were great! They have a small beer menu, but I was very pleased to see some good local beers at low prices. We will definitely be going back often!

I had a great experience here and am going to give it a little love. I came with a friend on a rainy chilly Saturday night. We were looking for comfort food, a quiet vibe, and no long wait. Omega delivered on all of these fronts. It was clean and attractive inside without being fussy. While the place wasn’t empty, it wasn’t packed either. So, no long wait, food was served in an appropriate time-frame, we could actually hear each other talk, and we didn’t feel rushed to leave. The server was great, she took care of everything but didn’t hover. She even let us sample to see which wine we wanted.(The cab I got was great and my friend enjoyed hers, too.) I ordered Merides to start(fried smelt), which I enjoyed, and I wrapped the rest to take home to my husband who is a big fan. We used to get these at Athens Tavern and I thought the ones here were a little better. Then I got the Pastitsio. I don’t normally go for pasta-type dishes but I enjoyed this. I like the Greek take with cinnamon and spices. Definitely a huge portion, which I enjoyed the rest of for lunch the next day. My friend got the Salmon and I have to say the dill sauce on it was great, too. Not a cheapie sandwich shop(though they have some of those options– souvlaki, baked spaghetti, etc…). I thought they were more of a solid decent dinner food place(pretty much all standards and no surprises on the menu). Chef came out and said hi, which always wins a place points in my book. I think this will be our new Athens Tavern replacement. Stella’s is too loud and crowded and Greek on Cary is more of a lunch place. And everything else is too far away. Edited 1÷13÷15− Went back a second time and the experience wasn’t as good. The server was borderline rude. We got there about 20 min before closing and they made it obvious that they were put out– NOTCOOL! Also, I tried the calamari and souvlaki this time which weren’t as good as what I had before. My husband enjoyed his moussaka, though. The chef didn’t come out this time either. If I hadn’t had the better experience the first visit, I would probably rate this even lower based just on this experience.

Having eaten at the Richmond’s Greek festival, Stella’s, and Basilis, etc. I have never eaten a Greek dish I didn’t love. So, I was excited to use my voucher at this new Greek restaurant so close to my home. The reason I don’t cook Greek at home is because I am afraid it will turn out like the food I ate here tonight. It started well with a big, fresh and deicious Greek salad($ 6.95). It was light on feta, but I meant to eat it with my soulvaki, rice, and Greek green beans, so that was okay. The soulvaki had a very few green peppers and onions on either end of the skewer, which meant the meat cubes were all crowded onto the skewer next to each other. This resulted in a kind of steamed taste, instead of a skewer where the meat alternated with the veggies and everything gets grilled all around. The meat was pretty tasteless(maybe it wasn’t marinated long enough? Maybe not the best quality?) and so was the rice. Plus, some of the pork was not very tender. I knew I was in trouble when, after a couple of bites, I was already reaching for my coke to help me wash the rest of the meal down. That’s not a good sign. I was expecting the yummy green beans in tomato, like they have at the Greek festival. Instead, this was a very different recipe that had a heavy thyme flavor with no tomato sauce. Some might like this– I didn’t. I got a side dish of the vegetable of the day– broccoli. I was expecting some broccoli braised with olive oil and garlic. Instead I got a big serving of steamed broccoli with no seasoning. It never occurred to me that it would be served like this, which is why I didn’t ask about the preparation. The service was excellent and the waitress gave me a 10% coupon to discount my next visit. I left that on the table. I hope the rest of the menu tastes better.

Best Greek I’ve had in Richmond. The dolmades were soft and flavorful without being drowned in oil, and the spanikopita was incredibly flaky and had a burst of salty, cheesy feta and mellow spinach. The baked spaghetti was a bit oily for my taste but had a nice amount of several cheeses. I can’t wait to try more of their menu and I hope they keep up the high quality.

Nice addition to Northside dinning. Atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Prices are a bit high. Portions are average. We enjoyed the green goddess salad which has a good flavor and goes well with the addition of chicken. The lasagna was fair, definitely has a Greek flavor. Service is fair. We’ve been a few times and there appears to be a lot of turnover.

People were very nice. Food was not. Flavorless lamb shank. Overcooked chicken. Kids menu all fried stuff. Much better options in Bellevue. We wanted to try it, but we won’t be going back.

Maybe it’s just me, but I wasn’t impressed with the Greek spaghetti; it’s far better at Joe’s Inn. The atmosphere and service were outstanding. It was a slow night, and I felt the server was hovering a bit more than necessary, perhaps out of boredom. I almoat thought they were gearing up to close, but they were open for another hour. I will give it another try based on good reviews and friends’ recommendations.

We gave Omega a try last night for the first time and I must say I was impressed! I picked up our order and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as their great beer and wine selection — they even have a nice little bar! The food was excellent! I typically dump a ton of salt and pepper on my pasta but did not add a single bit. I had the Omega pasta and my husband had the Chicken Santorini and I can say very easily I would have both again for dinner tonight! Plus the portion sizes were great — I imagined that they were going to be HUGE but they were actually the perfect size! We’ll be back for sure!

So very nicely done! Tile in the entrance w/nicely matching carpet. The restaurant has glass windows across the front of the restaurant w/a large Omega symbol. It’s larger than I thought it would be. Given the fact the restaurant only opened in March, they seemed to have their service together. Now, let’s get to why we went. I love Greek food and I thought it was excellent. My wife had the baked Grecian spaghetti, another friend had eggplant parm. I had Grecian lasagna. A side order of grape leaves made for more than enough to eat. Excellent food! Highly recommended! Enjoy! Good service!
