The delivery time in this is really really bad. I ordered food for pick up Around 8pm and I went for pick up around 9pm. The food wasn’t even ready then. It was promised to be ready in 30 min. They literally took 25 min to deliver food after paying for it.

Never ever get biryani to go or even eat any food in that restaurant. Biryani that spoiled and instead of throwing, they are packing in to go box and selling.

An empty restaurant on a Saturday night at 7:30PM in bustling Short Pump, VA, should have been a clue… Sadly, this Paradise Biryani Pointe restaurant pales to the establishment in Northern Virginia and doesn’t even come close to the flavor profiles of the restaurant in Hyderabad, India. Basically, the issue is TOOMUCHMASALAPOWDERSEASONING… We ordered egg bonda, manchuria, mirchi bajji, butter chicken, egg biryani, and bagara baingan. The appetizers egg bonda and mirchi bajji were the tastiest and best part of the meal. Manchuria, i.e. manchurian dumplings, and the remaining three entrees were truly less than desirable — all were overly salted and seasoned with too heavy a concentration of spices. We’re not talking about food being«too spicy”/“too hot,» we’re describing too much thick seasoning paste and too little main veg/meat/rice in the dish to balance the flavors. The eggplant dish(bagger baingan), butter chicken, and manchuria sauces were essentially thick pastes that you would picture typically used for a marinade. Truly a letdown and sad to think that this restaurant is hobbling along in Short Pump… there is such great potential to excel as a restaurant in that popular suburb of Richmond, if only there were more attention to appropriately balancing the seasoning.

One of the dirtiest restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The appetizer came out about 15 minutes AFTER our entrees(it was not busy– there was only one other table). The food tasted good, but I was sick for four days following eating here. Best to avoid this place.

Wow, I don’t understand the bad reviews. I had the Malar Kofta, mild, which was a generous portion and nicely presented($ 10). My companion had the eggplant, also nicely presented, but he should have ordered mild instead of medium. We arrived around 1:20, after the lunch crowd. The waiter was sweet, helpful, and attentive. We could not use the Groupon for the buffet, but I would not really expect to. It should be stated on the Groupon. We asked just in case and he told us. There were no surprises. The garlic naan was fine, and reasonable at $ 2.50, plus regular naan was included with both our meals. The food did take awhile to arrive, but that is not unexpected in a Indian restaurant. Lunchtime closes at 2PM, so that may have caused a little delay. At no time did we feel rushed.

Was waiting to be for 30 minutes before anyone showed up to serve us. The food was cold and soggy, almost like eating frozen food.

I end up ordering chili chicken and the worst chili chicken ever tasted… not authentic at all… when you call ur self a franchise I would expect the food to be tasting the same but here it’s worst. My recommendation — don’t fall for the biryani…

We went on a Friday night and the place was empty. We had lamb biryani and butter chicken. The food was fantastic and we could customize the spiciness(I chose medium — American spicy — and it was plenty spicy without burning my mouth off). The décor was a little strange, normal plain wooden chairs and tables but it was dark with blue recessed lighting like you’d expect in a bar. As the food was delicious, my main beef with it is the size of the portions. They were not generous. I ate enough, but I wasn’t full and there wasn’t enough for leftovers. Unless they improve portion sizes, I’ll be sticking with other biryani places in Richmond where you get a ton of food for your $.

Average food. Not great. This Restaurant gives you the flexibility to choose the meat and spiciness, hence the 2 rating We asked for extra nan and they said to us after 45 mins its better to cancel as the chef is busy with a group order. We order two main entries and there is a 30 mins delay to receive the second entry after we received the first

I went at 12.30 in weekend and was surprised to see that they are not ready. The owners are rude and they don’t have any passion for their customers. Their service and overall maintenance was below average. They are so inhuman that when i took two onion pakoras for my one year old daughter they started arguing bluntly and made me feel bad. Will never step in their restaurant again.

I arrived at 12:10pm…prime lunch time. Most places in Short Pump/Innsbrook with decent food are packed at this time. I should have realized what I was in for when I learned that I was the only customer in the restaurant. In short, I will not return. The food was gross. I’m pretty sure that the chicken I ate, which was gray by the way, was not chicken. There is much better Indian food in the area. Don’t waste your time or money.

This is a classic example of how two different restaurants under the same umbrella can have different quality of food. I had been to the paradise biriyani pointe in fair fax and so when this restaurant came up near my home in Richmond, I was pretty excited. But my first time was disastrous with regards to food quality. I tried here numerous times and every time it failed me. I got the biriyani from here which was really bad for a place which specializes for biriyani. The tandoori was bad. I would rather go to a different biriyani joint in Richmond rather than trying food over here.

This is one of the better Paradise Biryani Pointes in the U.S. Chicken biryani was pretty good… I mean… not HYDERABAD biryani good, but just good. I enjoyed it for the most part. We also ordered the Chicken 65 which wasn’t crispy at all — had no breading, just a semi-gravy(ok fine, oil with onions). A meal here serve as a good reminder of home when you need it.

This place is quite good for the Chicken Biryani but they generally make it very hot and spicy. A medium level of spice is enough to make your eyes red so you can very well go with ordering a mild to medium level of spice because again, just mild would be so mild that you hardly find any taste !!

The food was ok, the place reminded me of a banquet hall with a buffett line.

I’ve eaten at a lot of different places with varying qualities of food, but this place is what officially pushed me to create an account and write a review. This was the worst meal I’ve ever had. Period. I came in for lunch and ordered the chicken briyani, my coworker ordered chicken curry spicy, and samosas to split. One samosa was cooked through and tasted ok. Mine was stone cold on the inside. It wasnt until we came to the front and told the server he had to take it back and we didn’t want another one that we got any attention at all at a restaurant with no other people there at the time. The chicken curry was ok at best. But for a place with briyani in the name, the chicken briyani was completely bland. Where are these 30 spices? Putting different colors of rice on a plate does not make it a Briyani! I guess I know why they have you pay for your food ahead of time now. Avoid this place like the plague.

Had the chicken biryani for lunch which I have to say was pretty good! I ordered the chicken tikka masala but received the chicken vindaloo instead. That was just okay at average at best. I was pleased with the samosas. They were really fresh. Décor is pretty boring and cafeteria like. Not sure I like that. You order at the back of the restaurant then take a number and find a table.
