This was a great find. The tables are spread out so even though you’re in a room full of other people you still have space. We made reservations on Open Table for NYE. The menu items were fixed but they had no problem accommodating me since I am vegetarian. Our server was very nice. There were a few times that she was a little slow, but her personality made up for it. The drink menu was great and our drinks were very good. The ambiance is very low key and romantic. I loved the décor. We saw several menu items that we want to try the next time we go there. The portion sizes are just right, especially since we were eating 4 courses. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

I don’t know why I don’t go here more often. The food is fantastic, the décor is tasteful, the service is excellent. This is truly a hidden gem in the West End. I don’t know why there aren’t lines waiting to get in — maybe the price. maybe the location(it’s not in the Short Pump mall!). My meal for five with wine and appetizer was $ 60 per person with tip. Well worth it, but not something everyone drops on diner on a regular basis.

While I can’t quite give it 5 stars, the food is really good. At 6:50p on a Saturday, all of Short Pump had 2 hr wait times. We were able to use Opentable to get 7pm reservations. The drinks were great. I wouldn’t get the pork belly again. It was okay. But, I’ve had much better. My scallops were perfectly cooked. They were 5 star. The pumpkin bread pudding ended the meal. I’d go again. But, in that price range, it may not be my first choice. On a side note, I like their music and décor. Though, I’d move the front curtains or table b/c I sat facing the tile wall and kept brushing against them with my right elbow.

While the food is great, i have not been back here for a couple of years because every time i went the service was god awful. Last time it was not only beyond its usual slow, the table was left littered with empty plates that were never removed the entire meal. I wrote a nice email to the place letting them know but never got a response at all. Too many other good restaurants that offer the full package. not going back anytime soon.

What a find. This place delivered on all levels. For starters, you aren’t seated on top of other people. The menu is farm to table fresh and that is a huge plus! They have an extensive wine menu and the main menu changes seasonally. You don’t see pages after pages of menu options. I had the duck breast, which was cooked to perfection with a cranberry relish. My husband had the trout and loved it. There were several desserts that I wanted to try, but we were stuffed. The portion sizes were perfect but I just didn’t have room for dessert this time! We will be back this was our first visit and well worth the trip from chesterfield to dine at this local restaurant. Love supporting those who are working hard to create not only a great atmosphere, but amazing food too!

Awesome food and great service. Beets salad and mussle appetizer are excellent. Lamb chop entrée is amazing, the mint jelly with the lamb chop is superb. Other entrees(scallops and duck) were good too.

Best restaurant in the Far West End. Great food and good wine menu. Tried the fried oysters and shrimp and grits. Mmmm. Waiter was very attentive and atmosphere was superb.

There are so many great restaurants in Richmond that my husband and I always find it difficult to try new places. It is no wonder that Patina flew under our radar! Last night was our second time in the restaurant and the experience just seems to get better. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff members are all very friendly and knowledgable. The chef, Mike, is extremely personable and ensures each dish is flavored to perfection. We have tried the scallops, lamb shank, and the shrimp & grits… The portions were great and the dishes were all so well seasoned that it was impossible to leave even a morsel behind. The temperature of the food is warmer than most places which I really appreciate. Among the desserts, our favorites are the chocolate stout cake and the brioche banana bread… delicous. The only criticism I would give is the fact that their prices are slightly higher than comparable restaurants in town. I understand how people would find $ 27-$ 30+ entrees to be expensive. I also happen to be one of those people. I may be wrong but I feel as though people are missing out on this great place because of the price. If you don’t mind spending a bit more for great food with service to match, you definitely need to check it out.

What a wonderful restaurant with amazing food and décor! Our waiter was well versed in his knowledge of the menu and made our time there very enjoyable. This is definitely a good date night restaurant.

Skip their version of country ham biscuits. Biscuits were crumbly and the chutney not really something that added anything to the dish. And the«crab roll» appetizer, while large, should more appropriately be called«crab spread roll.» The roll was essentially a crab spread mousse type of filling in sushi rice. Not great. On the positive side, folks in our party liked the soft shell crabs, and my duck was delicious.

For three of the most pickiest people to all be satisfied + happy says it all… came here for my birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised! I absolutely love perfectly cooked seafood and cannot tolerate anything less than perfect. The chef cooked the scallops, salmon, mussels, and shrimp dishes perfectly. Upon checking in on Unilocal — I had a free dessert coupon — please check out my dessert photo(need i say more?)! I don’t have a sweet tooth but couldn’t stop eating the blueberry crème brûlée, bread pudding, Hawaiian style beignets, i’m sure i’m missing something else! Oh and best of all? Our waitress was wicked cool… I’ve checked into many places but have never given a review. Can’t wait to go again!

We met some friends of ours for dinner at this little gem of a restaurant in Short Pump in Richmond. Our friends have a 2-month old and we have a 9-month old so we took the earliest reservation of 5pm. They were more than accommodating to us. The food was fantastic and the service was warm and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised by not only how great the food was, but how spectacular the presentation was. Definitely a great attention to detail. We would definitely recommend this restaurant, and hope to come back!

My girlfriend and I went to Patina’s with high expectations after meeting head chef Mike Ledesma at a cooking class we attended. I’m more than happy to report that our expectations were exceeded! All I can say is: WOW! It was one of the best meals I can remember ever having. The service and atmosphere are fantastic and the food was spectacular. Everyone should treat themselves to this type of dining experience from time to time, trust me, you’ll thank yourself afterward!

I chose this restaurant to celebrate 1) my 6 months of sobriety and 2) my reintroduction to solid food after weeks of mushy bland food post-facial surgery. Everything, from the wait staff to the atmosphere and of course, the food, was astounding. I skipped a salad/appetizer and went straight for an entrée. I had a special: grilled swordfish. It was exquisite. Perfectly cooked, and with a crispy glaze of honey. Everything else on the plate was completely harmonious. For dessert, I chose the green tea & honey flavored crème brûlée. It was sweet but not overly sweet and perfectly torched. For something so rich it had a very fresh and light flavor. The ice cream that came with it was a surprise(I was stuffed!) but still delicious. My boyfriend also enjoyed his(huge! and very tender) steak and raspberry sorbet. The chef gave everyone in the restaurant complimentary crab rolls, and it was the best crab I have ever tasted. The waiter made me a fresh pot of decaf upon request, and it was the perfect way to end the celebratory meal. Our table was separated from the bar side of the establishment, which I was thankful for due to the occasion. But that side seemed fine, too. The noise level was agreeable even though the place was packed. I hope to go here for more upscale dates and celebratory evenings. I wouldn’t change a thing, other than the swordfish being only a special. I’d definitely order it again!

We went to Patinas for dinner and I didn’t have any idea of what to expect when I arrived. We had reservations which is a good idea by the way. The service was very good and the food was awesome. We weren’t rushed to eat either so we had plenty of time to enjoy the conversation with our friends. We all shared each other’s food because we couldn’t believe how good it tasted. I had the Hunters Stew which wins 5 Stars from me for any appetizer I’ve ever had in Richmond. Everything from the minute we walked in until we walked out was top notch. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was because I felt the prices were a little higher than I’ve paid for like food and services; but, I would definitely recommend it and go back again.

I have not tried the food or anything here. But this restaurant saved me last night when I tried to get a gift card for my coworker at Ironfish, which has been shut down suddenly by the landlord(sad?!). I used my handy dandy Unilocal App and searched for the highest rated restaurant nearby(my coworker lives near there). Patina was an obvious choice. Onward I drove with my phone and Unilocal leading the way! The inside was stunning, romantic, and modern. The copper bar is huge and makes you want to order up a fine Chianti or a scotch for your man. The handsome manager helped me right away with obtaining a gift card despite my frazzled damsel state. I hope my coworker has an excellent meal and I look forward to finding an excuse to go back.

1÷3÷15 Dropped by for drinks. The Chopin Martini was very good, perfect if you like a little dirty with fresh lie cheese olives. Chef Mike suggested his new bread pudding desert. It is worth dropping by and just getting this desert. I have had bread pudding all over the country at award winning restaurants. Mike’s is without a doubt the best presentation and execution. 6 stars.

Had a lovely dinner with my family last night. The lumpia were outstanding and the charcuterie had interesting selections. For dinner I had the short ribs, which came with sweet potato gnocchi and vegetables. The gnocchi were very heavy… definitely not light and airy like good gnocchi should be. The flavor was good, they were just heavy. The short ribs were good, too, but I’ve had better. My youngest daughter had spinach pasta and loved it. My oldest had the trout, which she also loved. Service was outstanding. Dessert was the doughnuts… those were worth the trip! I’ll definitely be back.
