Bar Louie

First time at Bar Louie was for the game 6÷8÷16! When I walked in, almost every TV was tuned in to the game and it was impossible to miss a beat. Found a nice little cozy area where I could relax and order food, drinks and enjoy the game. Our waitress, Mary Kate was very attentive and tried her best to assist us. There were some drinks that were requested but were out of stock or they didn’t have but she gave another option. My favorite thing on the menu was the oversize chocolate cake! It was literally big enough for all four of us at the section to eat, AS WE DID! The atmosphere was awesome and everyone seem to have a great time especially because of the Wednesday deal. There was also a happy hour on appetizers at 10pm. I wish I would’ve known about the different specials that were going on though. Also, I order the Spinach and Artichoke dip and it was A W E S O M E !!! I’ll definitely return soon!

Cafeteria like food, great ambiance and vibe, happy hour and specials good. Mediocre food served till late. Interesting drinks and cocktail combinations.

They make a mean martini, and they’re always packed on the weekends. I’ve never had any food, but it seems everyone around me enjoys their meals. If you’re in the area and want to unwind with an excellent drink this is the place. I will definitely return if I’m in the area.

Darn. The Martinis were just bad. Tasted terrible. The food was bland and dry. The ambiance was depressing.

1^st time here food, sat bar to watch college basketball game… the food was decent, ordered the voodoo chicken; the sauce was expectional and my friend ordered fish and chips, it was too oily and wasn’t informed the kind of fish it actually was. The atmosphere was okay, the service was the reason I gave 2 stars. It was terrible, the bartender was impatient and seemed careless that we were here, maybe because we looked different, it was uncomfortable and upsetting. I would really encourage the bartender and servers to treat everyone equally I felt that there was some judgement involved in the service provided. I mean a guy sat next to us at the bar like 15mins later and the bartender was treating him way different than us. I’ll try to give it another chance maybe it was just him who didn’t like what we looked liked.

INSANELY overpriced drinks and apps.
Ordered 1 Long Island, 1 Martini, and 2 Jameson on rocks along with 1 order of well prepared, but the most sparse serving of Calamari I’ve had in my life. The bill before tip was $ 53 !!!
The long Island and Martini was made well and the whiskey was what it was; whiskey on ice. The bartender was a bit frazzled bringing us the wrong drink once, then a separate bartender continued to annoy us asking repetitively if we wanted to order more food, which we declined repetitively in between him slamming down a stainless steel mixing Cup at least 10 times right in front of us while in his hurry to mix drinks for other patrons; especially after literally receiving 10 tiny pieces of calamari, we didn’t want to risk ordering the much more expensive dinner items. Although they had dollar cheeseburgers on this Tuesday night, they were something we were not interested in ordering.
I can see why most people surrounding the bar were drinking nothing but beer on special and ordering the dollar cheeseburgers. I suppose they’ve experienced the pain we did in receiving the check for this overpriced mediocre appetizer and 2 shots of whiskey one mixed drink and one martini. I see no reason to return unless I’m with a group of sports gluttons craving the non-​stop basketball playing on 6 TVs while scarfing cheap hamburgers and run of the mill beer on special

Overpriced with terrible service. The bartender paid no attention to us so we left after one drink. It took 30 mins to get the tab bc the bartenders just ignored us. Then come to find out they took an extra dollar from me for the tip. One dollar is not a big deal, but I didn’t give that to them so basically they STOLE from me after I already left too high of a tip for the service. I will NEVER go to this place again.

came here because the restaurant next door didn’t have room to seat us.
we were really hungry and tired after training that we just wanted to eat.
the service was relatively quick, but the food was okay.
I had the chicken pot pie soup, and the blackened salmon sliders.
I liked that buckets of beer were 5 for $ 10! that was a steal.
other than that, it’s a cool lounge type bar.

My husband and I have only gone for happy hour– good deals on drinks & apps, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. Fun midweek date!

Excellent bar. Food is what you would expect as far as bar food. Place is large and normally not over crowded. Excellent outdoor dining area as well.

Short Pump bar scene. Large, good for groups. TVs. Decent beer list. Allen is a skilled bartender. Food is typical for a pub/​bar.

Pretty good BAR food with a nice atmosphere! Relaxing and no frills just good food and even better drinks!

We went in for a drink one night and it was okay. The prices aren’t bad. Their drink menu had some interesting things I want to try. There was a guy there playing live music that night. While it wasn’t great, it was fun to watch. It seems like a nice option to meet friends for happy hour or a place to pre game.

Service was a little slow and the place was not that busy. The staff was friendly. The food was cooked correctly and served fresh. Dollar burger night is great! Had a great time with the family and friends.

I went late in the afternoon to Bar Louie’s. It has a spacious interior with plenty of seating. There was one large group and then only a few other people there. It must have been a slow time, maybe people frequent there at night?
I tried the blackened fish tacos. Looked amazing, tasted «okay». The fish itself didn’t taste seasoned, but the food was still good. The green salsa was perfect, just the right amount of spice.
I would definitely come back and try other menu items… Or the $ 1 burger night on Tuesdays. That sounds really good.

I’ve only been to Bar Louie on a few occasions to watch basketball. The restaurant has multiple televisions throughout. We ordered a few appetizers which was good. The first time I visited Bar Louie, service was awful (restaurant wasn’t busy)! I recently went back with my sister after a hiatus. The service had improved which was a plus. The restaurant is busier on weekends than week days. It’s plenty of parking surrounding Bar Louie. Bar Louie is a decent place to watch sports and grab some appetizers/​drinks. I give Bar Louie a 2.5 rating.

This is becoming the place I always suggest to friends. I love their happy hour specials, food and drinks. Their boneless wings are delish! I get them every time I go. Their tater tots are also yummy! I’ve tasted some other appetizers, and they were all great. The drink specials are also pretty good too and they have daily specials on different food.
I’ve only sat at the front bar, but now that the weather is nice, I’m eager to try the back bar or the outside seating. I also had a small birthday dinner in their private room, which seats around 20 is free to reserve. It was quiet enough to talk to one another but if you leave the double doors open, you can still feel apart of the rest of the restaurant.
The bartenders and servers are friendly and attentive. I always look forward to going here and can’t wait to go back!

Bartenders here are surly… yes, very surly.
When ever anyone recommends we go here and I end up along its because I think «it will be better than last time». Jokes on me, it never is. I’ve had a bartender look me in the eye when I politely asked for a refill on my gin and tonic and just walk away. Um… what just happened? I felt like I was taking crazy pills.
So no thanks.

The extra star is because of the bartender… the food isn’t worth eating unless you are very drunk and hungry. The drinks are ok but the service was great and Emmett was friendly and fun!

I go here often because it’s a favorite happy hour spot for my co-​workers. If you are looking for a bar to hang out in short pump with mostly adults then Bar Louie fits. I’ve always had a good time here but never an exceptional experience. The food is just bar food and the crowd consists of regulars and corporate people after work. This is a great place for a group happy hour but with so many other options in Short Pump this is just not my fav.
On this visit we had the calamari (don’t get it) and the pretzels. The pretzels were normal but they were served with this cinnamon butter which was really good!
