We ordered to go salads from Salad Works and loved them. They were a good portion, reasonably priced and delicious. We been going to Salad Work for years before they came to Richmond. We really like that they are quick, fresh and healthy. We would go more often if they were located closer to us. Amys salad is lettuce, pasta, extra cheese, pepperoni, egg, creamy Italian. Yum.

I have been to this location too many times to count. It’s one of the only places in town to get a quick, fresh salad for a decent price. Being the boring person I am I’ve only ever gotten the Roasted Cabo Jack salad or as I just had, the Roasted Cabo Jack in a wrap with tangy salsa ranch. There is certainly a salad here for everyone with tons of toppings to choice from. I am giving 3 stars because the vegetable freshness has been consistently questionable. Not so bad that I wouldn’t eat it but I feel like something could be done to better ensure the integrity of the food. Other than that, plenty of seating and a good place for a quick bite.

Really fresh, let your imagination run wild with the salad possibilities. The staff is knowledgable. The venue is clean. I had the«farmhouse» with goat cheese and Brussel sprouts with vinigarette dressing. I will difinately be back. I would have given 5 stars but I would have liked to eat the fabulous salad with stainless steal flat ware.

Oh, where to start… I was trying to be healthy post work out and get a salad. I really wanted nachos. But, I held firm and placed an online order for a salad at Saladworks. It was nearby, and I knew I liked their salads. So, I head on over to pick up my salad. I walked in and waited for like 3 mins to be acknowledged. When finally told them I was there to pick up my pre placed order, there was a look of total confusion. Finally, the guy(who was very nice and apologetic) went over to the printer and saw the order I had placed. Apparently, they never saw it. So he, rushed and put together my salad. I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece, but haphazardly throwing together ingredients into a bowl was a little sad. Like I said, he was very apologetic… offered me a free cookie, but I declined. I just wanted to get my salad and go. When I finally got home to eat it, it was meh. Kinda like that«end of the day, wilted lettuce, sad tomatoes» kind of meh. Overall, I felt like I should have just gotten the nachos… I may try them again. Maybe the next time I will go in and place my order at the counter. And maybe earlier in the day so the ingredients will be a little more fresh.

While the food was not terrible it was highly over priced. I got a combo(half salad with cup of soup) and my wife got a create your own salad and everything came to $ 18. I had the Maine lobster bisque but did not like that at all. The salad was decent but definitely not worth the $ 9. The salad could have been fresher and we got their not too long after they opened. Probably will not return.

Lazy line worker forgot to put the dressing into my to go order. Ridiculous and it’s not the first time it’s happened. Guess I should have learned by now. Overpriced and if you are going to charge out the behind you might as well get the order right.

Pretty good. Would return. I had the greek salad. I would prefer that they had an actual greek salad dressing for their greek salad, but otherwise it was definitely good. The owner was very nice, and the staff were very attentive.

I Absolutely love Salad Works! Good Customer service is a rare commodity these days. When i’m greeted with a friendly smile it goes a long way. Knowledgeable and friendly staff Helped guide me through my first walk in experience! They Allowed me samples to help create the perfect salad. The prices are reasonable and the salad is tossed just the way i like it! not too heavy on the dressing and even distribution throughout each fork full :) The hot roll offered at checkout is like the cherry on your sundae! i cant wait for my next visit!

Worst. Salad. Ever. This was my first visit to Saladworks. I initially wanted to prefer online and get delivery, but once I saw the delivery fee of $ 6.00, my friend and I decided to visit in person. I paid $ 9.09 for a salad that contained canned«grilled» chicken, dark and flaccid mushrooms, mushy grape tomatoes, and some brown mush they call«avocado.» I’m so disappointed with this salad. While they offer many selections, because most ingredients are canned, it is difficult to discern just what the toppings actually are. Presentation is messy, at best, so you can only hope you get what you think you ordered. The Maryland Crab soup my friend ordered had no crab meat, and the cup was only filled halfway. I would complain to the company, but I fear they would try to give me an incentive to eat there again. And frankly, I refuse to step foot in that franchise ever again.

Ever since I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier, I’ve found myself eating more salads for lunch. So when we were shopping one day across the street and my fiancée suggests SaladWorks for lunch, I was all over it. – Food: I had ordered the Turkey Club salad which has romaine, iceberg, radiatorre pasta, roasted turkey, crispy bacon, and tomatoes, but I subbed the tomatoes for cucumbers. I got a side of a tangy ranch dressing that I forget the name of, but it was essentially that. Basically, the salad was fantastic. I like the addition of the pasta, and all of the ingredients tasted good. Another nice thing is that the ingredients of your salad is completely up to you because of the salad bar design. I stuck with a predesigned one(sans tomatoes), but you can go down the line and get whatever you want, as seen by my fiancée’s Spinach Mandarin Orange Shrimp salad. The toppings include a wide variety of proteins, vegetables, and nuts, with some unique things like fruits and uncommon salad things like banana peppers. The actual salads are quite large. – Cost: Pretty much the only reason I’m giving this place a 4 instead of a 5. When it comes down to it, SaladWorks is a glorified salad bar. Our two salads together were around $ 16. It’s not a price that I necessarily mind paying since it all tasted good, the staff was nice, and I’d order it again, but it was $ 8 for some vegetables and a handful or turkey chunks. – Atmosphere: The place is very clean, modern, and bright. It’s pretty simple in its design, but something that I find appealing. – Service: The layout is that of a salad bar, Chipotle style, in that you go down the line and the staff construct your salad for you. Everyone was pleasant and didn’t pressure us at all given that it was our first time there and we had no idea what to do. – Overall: I really like SaladWorks. I’ve never been to one before(to my understanding it is a chain), but if I ever came across one, I would definitely check it out. When considering lunch or dinner, if a salad works, I recommend SaladWorks!

Went out of my way on a busy Monday to check out Saladworks. Got through the line to learn they were completely out of spring mix… only option was romaine. How does this happen at a salad restaurant(and with a Krogers across the lot)?

This place can whip up a great salad in no time. There specialty salads or great or you can build your own. They have just about every salad topping and dressing known to man. I personally like the Cabo. The staff is really friendly and I always take their recommendation on the best dressings. Also you get a warm roll. This is a must try.

Great service, but paying $ 9+ for a small basic salad is crazy. I remember growing up getting saladworks in NJ and its like two completely different restaurants. The ingrediants were fresher back home, and no exaggeration the salads were 3x bigger. Will never, ever, come here again.

Tried out Saladworks with a LivingSocial deal(I tend to rely on these to try out places lately) and I immediately am bombarded with a lot of information on types of salads, what can be made into wraps, and drink options. The salad bar itself is located on the left and seating on the right. I went with a buffalo chicken salad and watched as they made it right before my eyes, which I definitely appreciate it. I’ve been to similar spots like this in D.C. and thought that Richmond could use something like this too. Bottled drinks are the only option so I got a tea but they do offer free water as well. Salad also comes with a fresh roll and is reasonable in its size and price. The salad dressing itself with the combination of ingredients satisfied me perfectly. I just don’t know if I can bring myself to pay that much for a fresh salad I could pull together if I wasn’t lazy. Doesn’t help that it’s near a very nice Kroger too to remind me that I should be cooking at home more often.

Awesome place, huge portions and reasonably priced. I had the fire roasted cabo jack and it was very good. Will be my new regular lunch destination during the week.

DH and I like completely different things on our salads, so I was happy for us to have lunch at Saladworks. Not only do they have a wide variety of salads, fresh toppings, and dressings, but sandwiches and soups too. On this visit, I had the mandarin chicken salad(would have been even better with a bit of red onion) and DH had the caesar with chicken. I enjoyed mine more than DH enjoyed his. I was bummed that they only have bottled drinks. No fresh brewed iced tea, which is pretty much a given when you are in a restaurant south of the Mason-Dixon line. Bottled tea is just not the same. The only other thing I might take exception to is what they serve the dine-in meals, which are thick plastic white bowls, which are thrown away at the end of the meal. It seems a bit wasteful to me.

Saladworks, you’re making it easy for me to stop being a customer. On my last visit, I asked for wheat bread with butter and got white bread with Country Crock. Of course, I didn’t discover it until I got home. On this visit, the line was at least 8 deep, and instead of helping, one of your workers was busy chatting with friends/customers. And why aren’t there two people on the registers when it’s that busy, helping get rid of some of those people who are in line just waiting to pay? The devil is in those details. Get it together, Saladworks because I really like your food!

I was reluctant to try this place but decided to give it a shot as some coworkers were giving it good reviews. Waking in, the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place. Being a restaurant focused on salad and fresh ingredients, I wouldn’t expect any less. They even eliminated the hassle of dealing with a soda fountain limiting the beverage options to bottled drinks. The staff was very helpful in explaining the concept and what they have to offer. They were friendly and patient with the«newbies» walking through the door. The selection of ingredients, dressings, and soups is extensive. I like how they have multiple soup options that rotate daily. The staff did not hesitate to offer sample tastings of the dressings and soups. I went with the Pick 2 option and got the Greek salad with grilled chicken paired with the Asparagus & Pea soup. I tried the Maryland Crab soup also which was delicious. The only thing I wish I did was ask for them to go easy on the dressing. I opted for the regular balsamic vinaigrette dressing(not the lite), and it ended up bring pretty rich. The portions were satisfying for the price. All together, I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for something not too heavy and healthy. Don’t get scared away by the name of the place if you’re a carnivore. They still have meat. Sandwiches and wraps are available, too. I’ll be visiting this place again.

I remember a salad restaurant called«Souper Salad» that did well when I was in college, and this was fairly close in its concept. We went on their first night open, and the place was buzzing, the staff was still friendly and helpful with our orders, even though it was hard to hear what the staff was asking me over the noise of the place. Pluses — fresh ingredients and lots of choices for toppings and styles of salad. Even non-salad fans can find things they will probably like. Minuses — at $ 7.00 to start, I was expecting bigger portions and a salad I could«take home» to finish. Alas, this may be another victim of a tough economy, and I can understand that. They also had a grand opening special on salads, so the portions may have been adjusted accordingly. Also, this may be the other new norm lately, but all drinks were about 2 bucks, even bottled water. So even though this may not be your cheapest option, what we had was good and fresh-tasting. Even the sandwich my younger son had was good. So, ultimately, the concept may need a little bit of tweaking here and there, and I think the portions may need to either be varied in their size a bit more(smalls and larges vs. one size fits all) to allow for a reasonable amount of adjustment to total cost per visit. If I know I can’t get out of here spending less than 10 — 12 dollars a person, I may look elsewhere down the road. That’s another economy thing, but one that restaurant franchisees need to pay a lot more attention to. There is a lot of competition for my restaurant dollar, and what brings me back are the places that stretch it out a bit more lately…
