Hands down Rhett’s Salon is the best salon I’ve ever been to! I started as a client with Rhett and after his passing I became a client of Katelyn’s. Like her father, Katelyn, is the true epitome of a master stylist. She listens to her clients wants and needs, always has superb ideas, and her precision cuts are absolute perfection. Every time I leave I think, «this is the best haircut yet». I tend to get bored with my hair easily and Katelyn always knows exactly what to do for a change. That is no easy feat as I am someone who has really short hair. I’ve never left unsatisfied with my cut or color, which is a true testament as I am very particular and fickle individual. I look forward to my appointments and always feel like a rockstar when I leave. Truly the best!

If you want THE BEST colorist in the entire metro Richmond area go to Rhetts. Katelyn, the owner and Virginia are experts. They both have lots of experience and stay current on trends and chemicals. As for cut and style, let them make the call. You will not have any regrets. For years I have been going to Rhett’s and since Katelyn and Virginia have taken me on as a client I have never had a bad cut or style. And they do mix things up for me. I am not a slave to a style I dictate. I trust them absolutely and they get it right every time. Strangers come up to me and complement my cut, style and color all the time.
You can depend on being treated in a friendly and professional manner here. Not a corporate culture but a warm and inviting place to hang out for a couple of hours. You can get a convenient appointment with either Katelyn or Virginia or any of the other stylist who works there.
Katelyn, like her Dad did before her truly cares that clients have the best experience in her shop.

Virginia did my color yesterday and gave me a cut. The result: stunning.

Take a deep breath before you walk in this shop and be prepared to just let it go and trust these ladies. If you do not like the look when you are done, remember: it is hair. It grows back. But I am sure your true friends will gush with compliments when they see your new look and prevent you from going back to your old look.

Rhett’s Salon is by far one of the best hair salons I’ve been to, and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to get your hair done. Josh has colored, highlighted, cut, and styled my hair several times; he is amazing with foil and a pair of scissors! Rhett’s is definitely not your typical hair salon – I love the décor with the vintage furniture as booths and pinup girls line the walls. Sadly, Rhett passed away a couple months ago and it took the salon a few weeks to get back on track. He was not only an excellent teacher, but a great man as well. They always have specials and Groupons, so be on the lookout for those, too!

Josh gives an AMAZING cut and I’ve gotten tons of compliments on the color. The atmosphere is very relaxed and even on the first visit, the staff treats you like you’ve been going there forever. I will definitely be back!
