Richmond Ballet

I’ve been a ballet student since the age of 5. I’m also a teacher, and an amateur performer. I’ve taken many classes in many cities, currently I attend adult classes at Richmond Ballet, and I promise you they are fabulous. Susan Israel Massey is an exceptional teacher, who continue to perform with the company herslef. the studios are beautfil, floors are fantastic, spriung marley. Lots of light, lots of space, dressing rooms are sometimes a little busy, and the showers are always cold, which is a real pain if its below zero outside. Otherwise, I love verything about htis place. You can buy a 10 class dance card for $ 130 and it does not expire for 4 months. In additiona to adult ballet classes of course there is the professional school for serious students. There are frequent exchanges, and visiting teachers. Most recently the artisitc director of the Royal Ballet was here to teach mast classes.
As a company the Richmond Ballet is going from strength to strength and next year will be touring in China. Their most recent triple bill included Rite of Spring which brought the house down.
If you want to attend great classes this is the place, if you want to see great performances this is one not to miss.
