The food was great. The ordering system was a bit weird. You go to the front and order then have a table assigned. The staff wasn’t all that helpful with the process. Otherwise it would be a 5.

So I am from out of town and decided to stop here for lunch. I’ll start by saying that the food was fine, but that was about the only good thing I have to say. As someone who’s never been here before, I was extremely confused by their ordering system, it wasn’t very clear what was going on. I stood at the entrance for a good couple of minutes(I was by myself, mind you, so I felt very uncomfortable). After that failed, I tried to get a couple of waiters attention, and even when one made eye contact with me she quickly turned around and ignored me. Now I was annoyed, I was about to turn around and leave when a customer ended up pointing me in the right direction. I will say it’s not really with it, all they have to eat is sandwiches, and the service was terrible. If you’re gonna have a weird system to order then you need to either make it painfully obvious or have a hostess at the front to direct you. Not impressed.

I agree with other reviewers — the food we have had during 3 visits was good, the service was not.

Have not been real happy with the service last 3 times. Couldn’t get our food right Food is always good. Broccoli cheese soup good. Spinach salad good. Desserts are the best. Service is the problem. But always packed. Doing something right

Love the broccoli and cheese soup with homemade croûton/crackers — the sauce for the fruit is LOVELY! Really enjoyed our experience, I love a really great small town restaurant!

I don’t know what the big deal is about this place. I think it’s popular just for being popular. The food wasn’t that good. The clam chowder and broccoli cheese soup was watery and not very flavorful. The chicken salad wasn’t anything to write home about. The only good thing was the buttery garlic toast. I ate a whole basket of them myself. The service was sub par as well. The food came out at different times and the dessert took a long time to come out as well even though we ordered them ahead of time. The line to order was long. I had to ask the staff to brew some more tea. The section we were in was dark and several lightbulbs were out in the fixtures. One of the tables of 2 moms and kids allowed the kids to sit on the floor and do crafts/coloring and the waitstaff said nothing even though they were sitting at a table for 6. What?! I would not go back. Overrated!

Where to start… let’s start with those damn little garlicky toasts. Lord have mercy for anyone avoiding bread, because these little yummy toasts will have you saying to hell with it… I’m eating the bread. This is a cute, charming little hole in the wall but most definitely worth a trip. We went when it was slow. I know better to go at lunch time, especially when there’s slim pickings in that area. We had great service and the food, pretty delicious. My recommendation is don’t skip the tuna and chicken salad… they are to DIE for and those little toasts I mentioned before, load em’ up with the salads. We tried the broccoli and cheese soup(good but watery). My hubby had corn and crab chowder(he said great flavor) but again really watery. Now the chilled avocado soup was a great surprise and yummy in a very unexpected way. Perfect for hot summer day. Chicken tenders were just average(nothing special) but once again you really need to stick to the fresh prepared salads. They are unbelievable!!! In my opinion the prices were a bit high but I’d go over and over for the salads and toasts. I’d probably just get them to go.

Delicious food!!! The best broccoli cheese soup I’ve ever had… not to mention the chicken salad which is so amazing!!! One last thing, you must try the Cancun Salad… the shrimp and avocado on that salad… leaves me speechless!!! Can’t wait to go back!!! Thank you, Sylvia Leal

Was visiting while in Richmond and told many times to visit Sandy McGee’s. Great local place for a quick lunch, catch up with a friend or family gathering. The crispy bread croutons they give you as a free app are awesome! I got the burger and crab and corn chowder. Definitely should have explored a better option over the burger(I was feeling boring). My chowder was really cold but I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be because of the crab. It was still delicious but I personally prefer soup to be warm. My boyfriend ordered the club sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup-both awesome! I think I just ordered the wrong things.

The desserts were good, the atmosphere was so cute, but the service was absolutely horrible. The lady at the counter was slow and rude. She made us wait for five minutes standing there staring at her to order while she organized things around the register. One of the people in our party ordered their pie a la mode, and was met with only a blank stare. Once the cashier learned what a la mode meant, she rudely said«around here you just say you want ice cream». When you’re in the restaurant industry, you should know basic restaurant lingo and be able to practice effective customer service. Also, they were out of half of their desserts. There were employees eating in the front of the restaurant at a table while the line was very long. Maybe someday I will go back to try one of the three desserts I actually wanted but the cheesecake I settled on was alright.

Such a super cute and friendly town restaurant. A ton of friends we know have been suggesting we try this place because the food is AMAZING. And they were not wrong! This place embodies that«everyone is family» vibe by their customer service and their food. You can tell everyone knows everyone, even when they don’t! The food was to die for! Very homey, delicious café type food. You can’t go wrong with fruit, soup, and sandwiches for lunch. We’ve also been told that we NEED to try the desserts so next time we will! The atmosphere was very calm and warm. You feel like you’re at home eating dinner, even when it’s daylight outside. They give you a table number right after you order and you have to go find it so they know where to bring the food. So overall, awesome place! We will definitely be coming back again.

It’s good food! But the wait time is ridiculous! Especially when they only have one register. Maybe they should cut back on staff & upgrade to a POS system. I mean there were like 4 workers hanging around doing nothing and when the swinging door to the kitchen was open there was a «waitress» standing there on her phone. The food and wait time isn’t worth the price. 10÷15÷15 Picked up a philly cheese steak with a broccoli soup and a BLT with avocados but on a croissant instead of the nut bread. With a side spinach salad. And a bowl of broccoli soup. All was delicious but for $ 36 ridiculous!

Club croissant and broccoli cheese soup might be the best thing anyone has ever eaten. The owner is pretty special too!

Awful service. This place needs help organizing it’s staff. It has no processes whatsoever for waiting tables, serving food or checking out customers. Food is ok at best… menu is good for lunch but makes no sense for dinner. I had a chicken sandwich that was ok, my daughter had a burger that was ok, but her fries were cold. Our drinks were never refilled, we had to get our own silverware, and waited over 25 minutes for food, and over 20 minutes for the bill AFTER asking. I will never go back here!

The old timey environment is really cool. The food taste is decent but pricey for what you get. The restaurant has a nice spacious area for seating and a big room on the side for events and larger groups. I usual have the bacon cheeseburger meal.

A friend took me here today for lunch & a little shopping at the boutiques nearby. I’ve lived in Katy for 4 years, how have I not been to ‘downtown’ Richmond? This place is cute, vintage & small. Don’t let that fool ya! This place can handle a crowd! When you walk in, there’s a chalkboard menu to your right with the menu items listed. I went with the Ann’s plate which was chicken salad, fruit salad & a cup of soup. I went with their famous Broccoli Cheddar and also got an iced tea. My daughter got the children’s grilled cheese & fries and an AJ’s strawberry bowl with powder sugar on the side for dipping. FYI there is no sweet tea here, you have to add sugar or Splenda– sad face! On to the meal and service… Everyone was very nice & I learned that the owner was there. She was working her butt off! We came right at the end of their lunch rush, so the restaurant was in need of a good sweep but they handled that quickly. My lunch was great, I absolutely loved my chicken salad & fruit salad. My soup was underwhelming but it may be because everyone talked it up. To me, it was watery and there were only a few tiny pieces of broccoli. Maybe it’s always this way. Either way, to each their own! I’ll definitely come back sans kiddos so I can shop & sight see more after eating lunch.

Ohh Lord! Where do I begin? We drive 30 minutes to this place because I can’t get over their buttery crispy bread or their broccoli cheese soup. I always order their broccoli cheese soup because it is so good. It’s spicy and so creamy yet not heavy. It’s light cheesy heaven! Dip their buttery bread in the soup(or crumble it into the soup) and your mouth will thank you forever, I swear. We also got a fruit salad and everything was fresh! So refreshing and sweet, it came with some sort of fruit dressing which was nice not really a fan of it but the fruit yet so simple but so delicious. There was a little issue, I specifically asked the waitress if there wasn’t pineapple(allergic to it, t gives me shortness of bread) and she said no so I just went ahead and ordered it, guess what? Get my salad with two big chunks of life threatening fruit! It was my responsibility to tell the waitress I was allergic to them but I didn’t, so next time I will. Pretty cozy place to visit, family friendly.

Best sandwiches ever! This is the cutest little sandwich shop in old town Richmond. You order at the counter then they give you this basket filled with delicious, buttery crusty bread pieces. Don’t know what they call it, but it’s heaven. I always get the turkey club croissant & it’s excellent. The reason that I gave this place 3 stars is that sometimes the service is a bit lacking. Everyone is always friendly but the last 2 times I was brought the wrong order. Nothing too dramatic to keep me from coming back. If you are in the area, give them a try & don’t forget the desserts which are worth the extra 5 pounds you will gain!
