If you are looking for Cracker Barrell, this isn’t the place. Just an old-time café serving breakfast and lunch. In the middle of a manufacturing section of Richmond called Manchester, south of the James River from downtown. A little tired, a little run-down, but just the right amount of funk to keep the posers away. I had the Real Meal Deal: eggs, grits, bacon, fried apples and coffee. It came to my table promptly, hot, as advertised. The surprise? The coffee. This Joe was good, and we are coffee snobs. Easy on the wallet, too. Friendly staff, good waitress, a little turn back in time. These joints used to be all over the place, but now largely gone. I’ll be back, I’m a fan.

Its like I was at Grandma’s house… If you are looking for that southern comfort food breakfast or lunch this is the place!!! There is no breakfast food like Two Sisters Café!!! The food I experinced here: Salt Herring — Excellent and meaty I was very suprised at how meaty it was. The portions of this was GREAT! Grits — OMG ok so im not a grits fan but these grits were so smooth and buttery it was like grit heaven and like I said I’m not a big fan of grits but they have made me one Cornbeef Hash — Cooked just the way I asked(hard) not in a slump of oil like i have experienced from other places. Salmon Cakes — THEBOMB.COM Pancakes — Theseeeeeeeee will make you die and go to food heaven, very fluffy & light, huge I can never finish a short stack order — and always fresh!!! Smothered Porkchop Lunch — On point! I had the daily special Don’t be fooled by the looks of it they have Awards from NBC12!!! — Oh and another thing… you can feel the cleansiness soon as you walk up not a greasy feeling but clean feeling and I see staff washing thier hands!!!

My wife and I went because we found it on the Support Small Business Saturday with American Express. Welp. Let’s just say-If you want to eat something that’s not good, and will send you straight to the bathroom— have at it. This was my first time there, and most definitely my last. How can you mess up a simple breakfast? Anyways, the people were nice. That’s good. But, having a restaurant is about the food being good too.

D. Arrington 5 stars for the food! It is a small shack-like breakfast joint! Great value! Very nice servers! Hubby & I had breakfast but they do offer southern meals as well! We stopped back through on our way back home to NJ on Sunday but they are closed on Sundays.
