Great pizza pies for take(home) and bake. Great sandwiches. Great pizza slices for eat in or out. This place is a local gem.

This is my favorite pizza in RVA so far. They sell by the slice and a whole pie is take and bake. Love the different topping combos, no boring flavors. I order the Supreme the most but love the California cruiser a lot too. The sandwiches are very tasty also. Try the Greek salad. You will not be disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for 4 years now and wish there was a 2nd location.

Food was great, I had the club sandwich. People were nice and the owner was awesome, came out and talked to me while I was waiting. Awesome lunch spot! Cheap too

Great place. Remember it is take and bake. We order pizza about once a week. Sandwiches are great and if they have the Notorious P.I.G go for it!

Good pizza and subs. Today’s special was the Tillman– a white pizza which had tomatoes, pepperoni, pineapple and feta cheese. Delicious. If you want a whole pizza it’s take n bake, but also good.

Ordered slices and it was just so… average. I went with my wife and her high school dive team. The high schoolers liked the pizza, but personally I’ve had much better. Service was fine and seating worked out well for a group of 8.

Delicious subs, fresh pizza, and excellent service? SOLD. All right, so most folks come here to grab whole pizzas for home baking. But for me, it’s all about the ability to grab $ 3.99 all-ready-to-go hot slices & subs and,…I’m lazy. There’s no way I can wait for my oven to pre-heat. Ready-made all the way. Oh and don’t forget the Unilocal discount: buy one 12″ Special sub and get any 6″ sub free. Yep, the subs are delicious and totally worth it. Da Recs: 1. Sub picks(available on white or wheat): * The 12th Man Special: Simply perfect. Well-seasoned tuna sandwich with pesto and mustard. * The LOB Special: I loved the corned beef sandwich and caramelized onions.
2. Rockefeller pizza slice: this was the somewhat lackluster cousin compared to the subs. Smoked oysters atop spinach and bacon seem like a great combo, but somehow the whole thing just didn’t quite work. Judging from my fellow diners’ response, it sounds like Socrates might be the one to go with next time. FYI, the back parking lot can be pretty packed. If needed, there is some street parking in the neighborhood surrounding the restaurant.

California Cruiser is on time and the ‘take and bake’ style makes the home smell pizza fresh and keeps the grease to a minimum.

I finally made it to Superstars last week as part of the Unilocal International Supper Club. There were four of us and we each ordered slices, though the other options are whole pizzas and take-n-bake. I saw a lot of people picking up their pizza to take home while we were there so they must have a good following. The service was super friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu and rewards program to us. I ate a slice of All American and a slice of Pesto Panache, and both were delicious! In my opinion, the best part about the individual slices is the flavor combinations of toppings rather than the crust. The crust was just OK to me, but the toppings were perfect! My favorite was the Pesto Panache, which includes basil pesto, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and oregano. Nearly perfect! The All American slice was also very good but needed a little more spice for me. I like that they use crumbled sausage instead of the thin slices, but either the pepperoni or the sausage need a little more heat. Other than that, I was quite happy with Superstars and will definitely come back for more, and also to try the take-n-bake.

Found this place because I was going to a pizza party and needed a pizza to bring. They have a lot to offer. They do red sauce, white sauce and pesto! My boyfriend and I decided to bring the cheeseburger pizza. Now if you order a whole pizza you have to bake it at home. Which isn’t an issue for me since it will be super hot when you eat it. Now that was our first visit. But while we were there we saw they had a lot of options for sandwiches. So we came back last night. I ordered the jerry, which had pesto, turkey lettuce, bacon, and jack cheese. My boyfriend got on the sly. It looked delicious and I even snuck a bite and it definitely was. It was kinda on the spicy side but very tasty and flavorful. This place definitely knows how to make delicious food. Everything I have had, hasn’t disappointed me yet. Plus everyone that works there is nice and helpful.

Superstars is the place we go when we’re craving good pizza. The slices are huge, fresh, delicious, and easy on the wallet. What more could you ask for? We’ve tried several of their off the menu slices. The Virginian(BBQ chicken) has become my boyfriend’s go-to pizza, while I usually venture out and try one of the specials they have on the board. While some of those haven’t been my favorite, I can’t deny the love that’s baked into the crust, and the ingredients always taste so fresh! On our last visit I gave in to my fatty impulses, and got a half sub to go with my slice. I have to say I was fairly underwhelmed. Again, while it wasn’t bad… it wasn’t anything to write home about. There are so many amazing deli/sandwich places here in Richmond… there’s really no excuse to ever eat a sub anything less than extraordinary. I will stick to the pizza from now on.

Their sandwiches are hand-crafted with LOVE! Although you can’t go wrong, my personal favorite is the Where’s the Beef. They also have pizza. Although the pizza may not be something to wright home about… their take and bake is damn convenient! The price is right at this local shop… a whole Sammy will fill me up for dinner tonight and give me leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Be sure to get your loyalty card punched and check in on Unilocal for additional deals! :)

Great place to go for not only pizza but subs and salads as well. Very good atmosphere, service is relatively quick and the crew are all really good guys. Another great local business in the Westhampton neighborhood. Also excited to check out the look as I understand they are upgrading a bit.

I’ve been to Superstars Pizza a couple of times now, first at the recommendation of a co-worker and since because I love their pizzas. They focus on pizzas and subs with pizzas by the slice only and take-and-bake pizzas for whole pies. The variety of options for pizza slices always amazes me. I’ve tried the Cheeseburger in Paradise, Luau, and Supreme to name a few. As far as subs, I’ve only heard great things about the Trucker and the Jerry. Coming in during lunch on a workday can be hectic as the combination of a lot of people and on-street parking can be overwhelming but usually by dinner the place calms down. Give this place a try!

Great pizza! Never had anything else there, or been with people not getting pizza. Also only been there for lunch, but it’s generally pretty quick to get in and out for a normal timed lunch.

This is my favorite pizza on this side of town. I had the mexican pizza and my kids had the plain. We ordered it too bake it at home. I would recommend you call ahead to do this especially if you have the kids with you. Otherwise you will probably have to sit and wait 15 min for them to make it from scratch. My 6 year old son said it was the best pizza ever.

We tried 2 pizzas as take-n-bakes. The All-American was thick and loaded with ingredients, and very good. The Cheese Explosion was thin, with almost nothing on it, and was very average. Reminded me of bad cheesy bread. Hence the overall 3 stars. I like the take-n-bakes, so we’ll try it again. We’ll just be sure to stick with the red pizzas so they’ll have some sauce.

3⁄5 stars for me. During a family visit in Richmond, VA, we ordered lunch sandwiches to go from this place. Being a first timer I asked the locals what to compare it to(chain, specialty, etc) and they said a combination of the two. I got a very standard Turkey Club and thought it was a good sandwich. They added what they call was SuperStar Sauce, which was quite good. You can order subs in 6″ or 12″ pieces. From my understanding this is a place of many options, so I wouldn’t mind trying something else when I am back in town. A quick and easy place and a good meal if you are in the area. Until next time…
