Excellent spot for authentic Mexican food in the Richmond area. We have tried a variety of tasty items on the menu and all were very good. fresh and nice sized portions. A highly recommended go to for Mexican food. Friendly staff as well.

Very good authentic Mexican food. They had a great vegan option — I had two gorditas, one with avocado and nopalitos and one with avocado and beans. My boyfriend had the chorizo tacos, which he loved. Everything as fresh and well seasoned. They have a good selection of Mexican sodas and aguas frescas. They also have a salsa bar with all the trimmings for your tacos and delicious salsa. You won’t be disappointed.

This is hands down the best Mexican food in RVA. Unbelievably fresh and delicious. Tons of choices! Really authentic and amazing service. Lots of fixins and great salsa. Most importantly, really friendly service. El Jefe can’t be beat.

We were looking for a Mexican Restaurant and stumbled upon this place.
It’s a little place, and the wait is a little long but the food is SO WELL WORTH IT.
Portions are big.
We were all very pleasantly surprised.
