The Dump

I was there yesterday, a very big day in the furniture business. Looked around for more than an hour. One – 1 – sales associate said hello to me, but didn’t ask if I needed help or had any questions. Groups of 2 – 3 associates were standing around talking among themselves. I actually found one or two items I might have bought if any employee had shown the slightest interest. The Dumps’ TV commercials promise a heck of a lot more than this store delivers! Don’t waste your time.

Overall a nice experience. Chris — the salesman was absolutely great and patient. He let us shop around and was always around if we had questions. The delivery of the furniture however was another story. The guys were not very professional and they smell like marijuana. But I guess that is not part of Haynes but they should maybe try another delivery company.

Exceptional customer service. Was very helpful every step of the way. Despite difficulties with delivery (not associated with store itself) they were very helpful and courteous. Was referred by a friend and will most likely do the same in the future.

The sales person was very helpful. However, i felt that tools supporting them were not adequate enough. They had problems finding the inventory that was showing as available on website and their local inventory online. At the end they figured out that the inventory was not put on display because one of the peices that came with it was missing in the sofa set. The staff there have been extremely patient in finding the sectional sofa i liked on the web and got in an new order for me from the factory or warehouse

Very helpful and a good value for my money. The manager Sherwood helped me personally and then got his best sales person to help expedite the order. Nicole at the front office was quick and efficient in processing the payment and pickup schedule.
Thanks again for everything — I sure will be enjoying my queen mattress set for a long time to come.

It’s crappy furniture with giant price tags that say «marked down 99% from $ 1,000,000,000 to just $ 1,999.99.»

Very disappointed with my experience at The Dump. Furniture prices are identical with Haynes and the selection is not that good. Spent over 2 hours there and still could not even find good info on a bed, let alone the bed itself. Plus the sales associates I talked to didn’t seem to know anything about their inventory. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN.

We went to The Dump thinking we would get the best deal. Their couches were crazy expensive. And not even nice. We went to Value City… muhc nicer and half the price.

This is one of those places that if you check back regularly, at some point you’ll find something you like at a great price. They get different merchandise every week and my sister-​in-​law, who is a professional shopper if there ever was one, has scored some great stuff here like a leather loveseat with nailhead trim for about $ 500.
Oriental rugs and area rugs are usually a good buy here as well. Some of the furniture is pretty cheesy, it’s true, so don’t expect to furnish your entire place from here.

The Dump is good for a few things. I have bought nice wool Oriental rugs there for great prices. I have also purchased a king size mattress and box spring. The bed was of OK quality, not a name brand however. I had it for a few years and chucked it when it got lumpy. I think I only paid about $ 400 for the set so it wasn’t too hard to do.
I purchased a very fine grade of wall to wall carpeting for a home I had renovated. I am not a fan of wall to wall and avoid it like the plague but it was for a bedroom and there were no hardwoods there so it was a very inexpensive solution. I bought a nice Berber for a room that was roughly 25×10 for only $ 150.00. They provided me with a guy who delivered it and installed it for about $ 200.00. So for $ 350.00 I have a new look. Not bad at all…
I have not had luck in the furniture department at all. Most of the stuff they had was glitzy Italian modern-​look leather or had a granny sun porch look to it… not my style. Much of what was there was not high quality, there are better places to buy furniture on the cheap. However, for rugs, carpet and a cheap bed, go to the Dump

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a fan of the Dump. It’s only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They get a weekly shipment and sell it through the weekend then get new stuff the next week. This means Friday is the time to go for the best pickings, but there’s cool stuff any time.
The salesmen do work on commission, so expect lots of «can I help yous?» No big deal, though. This is a big warehouse filled with overstock from Haverty’s. There are couches, mattresses, patio furniture, dressers, bedroom sets, rugs and more all organized by item. Prices are pretty good, and they host varying sales each week that make specific items even cheaper.
I got a really cool wooden wine/​liquor holder there for only $ 90. It just needed a new pull on the cabinet door and it was in perfect condition. Some of the stuff there is damaged, so just make sure to look whatever you choose over carefully.
The only thing I don’t like about this place is the check out/​pick up policy. You buy your item, but even if you can carry it, you have to wait for it to be moved to another area and for your number to be called to pick it up. This can mean you waiting a while after you’ve paid. Kind of annoying, but whatever, you’re saving money. Delivery is also offered now.

I did not personally buy a mattress here, but I wished that I had. They have great prices on those more expensive, but very comfy beds. Everyone here works on commission, but if you are going to buy a new mattress it’s hard to avoid that. Their furniture was nice, but a little steep for my budget. They seemed to have cool really big kitchen tables though that weren’t that expensive. Check out the back «discount room».
Oh yeah, they don’t have delivery, but work with a guy who will arrange delivery with you for a price.
