Came in here last week as I was starved and felt like a great Pad Thai. While my food came I went in to wash my hands but no hand soap. How do the workers wash their hands? Uh-oh. My food came and it was a disappointing lump of tasteless noodles, not t he great flavors I remember having there before. Will not be coming back.

All the entrees were too saucy! And I’ll have to agree with other reviews that the vegetable to noodle ratio is 2:1. It’s just off and not what most people are used to. We ordered the basil fried rice, and it was so saucy it was like sticky rice. Not bad, but it wasn’t what I was expecting nor wanted. I would’ve preferred something different. One gal who wears the glasses is so friendly as well as the owner, but the other girl was a little pushy and couldn’t get our order right. She forgot the crab fried rice and my thai iced tea. What was pretty good was the spicy catfish and the bbq beef, but I wouldn’t make a trip back just for that. I like the thai restaurants a lot better around where i work in San Francisco.

Came in here with my family Tuesday evening when searching for a good Thai place near Pinole for my family to try. Service was fast because they weren’t too busy when we walked in, our server was very attentive to us and gave us good recommendations. We ordered the Sala Potstickers as a starter and they were amazing! As entrees we had Shrimp Pad Thai, Beef Noodle Soup, Thai Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup, Tom Yum Seafood Noodle Soup, and the last dish I can’t remember the name but it was a spicy lamb dish. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and very flavorful and my family loved it, as well as our server being great. I can say we’ll be back for dinner here whenever I’m in town visiting!

We had their tofu/chicken with green beans and angel wings last month for dinner. Normally, they offer a choice of one protein but they allowed us to have both tofu and chicken. The sauce was good but a little too intense. The portion was good. We had the angel wings and it was very greasy. The brown rice was not that fresh. However, the service was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the restaurant itself is really pretty. I would come here again if I was desperate for Thai food. I didn’t think the food tasted authentic enough for Thai food. That’s my only complaint.

I always come here to get the pad Thai they have. Probably one of my favorite places to go for pad Thai and it’s close to my job and home!

In response to the comment I received from the restaurant that delivery is always offered, On Monday, April 18, got out of the eye doctor after scratching my cornea, having my eyes dyed and dilated, and waited for 3.5 hours to order delivery in the time frame listed on the website(2−8pm M-F) instead of ordering pizza or something. I had to order delivery because I could not see and was locked in a dark apartment trying to let my eyes adjust after the dilation. When I called at 2:30 in the afternoon, I was told delivery was no longer an option at the restaurant. This is the second time this has occurred, although my wife managed to order delivery in between. May 25 another attempt at delivery was made. According to the Unilocal page, Which the manager ASSURES me is kept up to date, they deliver. The person on the phone who claimed to be the owner said delivery is not an option, in spite of the fact that both Unilocal and their own website claim it is. The owner also seemed indignant that I would be displeased that delivery is not an option. That is not consistency… So, Nadir… You should probably stop lying in response to bad reviews and fix the actual problem.

The papaya salad was good, this one was peanut flavor! The sticky mango was good. Service was O.K. Atmosphere: fine dining style with umbrella on the ceiling.

I had lunch there today. I’ve been there before. Different staff than when I have been there before. Some food is very good(larb gai, salmon & basil), some is good, and some is just OK(pumpkin curry — flavor is fine, but too much thin liquid, needs to be thickened, and add more vegies and potato) The service today was extremely slow! The place was only about 1⁄3 full, there were 3 tables ahead of me(~8 people total and at least one of the tables had already ordered) and it still took a long time for my order to be taken, a long time for me to get water and a Thai ice tea, and a very long time for the food to arrive(more than 30 minutes from when I walked in). And they weren’t very pleasant, not exactly rude, just civil, not at all friendly or warm. Fortunately, I wasn’t in a hurry. Second, I watched the waitress clear & clean the tables on either side of me. In both cases, she wiped food debris off the table straight into the floor(instead of cupping her hand to catch it, and then disposing of it which is the correct thing to do). That is not OK — it’s not sanitary, and it can create a hazard. Food can be wet, or have oils which can create a slipping hazard on the cement floor.(Thai food that is fried or has coconut milk contain oils). I have a friend who fell from a wet floor in a restaurant and broke her hip — huge lawsuit followed. Accidents happen, but normal practice in a food establishment should not be creating unnecessary hazards. As a note: I cooked professionally for 13 years, I’ve spent a lot of time in restaurants as a worker, I owned a wholesale bakery for 5 years, and I enjoy food. I have enough experience to know when things are running smoothly, and when they are not, and to know proper procedures.

I love this place, I only hate that they open so late on Saturdays. Other than that the food is always fresh and yummy as well as consistent ! I love the duck curry, seafood curry, fried rice with prawns, spicy catfish and vegetables are all my go to meals ! The peer is awesome I heart that guy! So nice and professional! Amazing Thai food !

I was hangry and craving Thai food so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a Chicken Pad Thai and a Thai Tea to go. The service was good, my food was almost done by the time I got there. However the food was alright. I tried a lot of Pad Thai from different places and I noticed that everywhere makes it slightly different. Except here the Pad Thai was super bland and so oily. I just felt like I was eating oily noodles the entire time. It was not as good as I hoped for it to be. Maybe it was just an off day. The Thai Tea was alright it was too sweet to me. I’ll give it another try next time. However the inside is very decorative which was cool to look at as I was there waiting for my food.

Came here for lunch. Ordered red curry. The curry itself, I would give three stars. It was decent enough, but the vegetables had kind of weird dish water flavor to them. The broth was also too thin for my liking. It had decent flavor, but it was also not the best I have had by a long shot. My main issue was that we were in there for over an hour! Seriously, the place was only half full and it took our server almost 15 minutes to take our order and it took almost an additional 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Naturally, we needed to flag our server down to get our bill as well. Normally, I am not a stickler for service like this, but I just feel that over an hour for three orders of curry is a bit unacceptable for lunch service.

I love this place for several reasons: 1) It’s close to my apartment. 2) Orders come out quickly. 3) Staff is friendly. 3) Their beef larb salad. So-freaking-good. Legit, everything I’ve ever tried from Tiparos has been delicious. The pumpkin curry is fabulous, as is their chicken satay(the accompanying peanut sauce is to die for). Minus one star ONLY because mango with sticky rice is on the menu, but hasn’t been available for some time. Also, parking is kind of lame-o cause the lot is shared with a bunch of businesses.

Just found a coiled piece of metal in my rice!!! I’m not coming here anymore. I’ve let this place slide way too many times. This was the last straw.

The Panang Curry with chicken was so scrumptious. Mild coconut curry flavor with green pepper, mushrooms and carrots. I really enjoyed it. The fried banana was an amazing dessert, and the serving was generous. I like the décor in this restaurant. Definitely a step up for the area with a nice mix of authentic Thai folk items and modern colors. Very cool vibe.

Love this place! I live pretty close so it’s definitely one of my go-to’s. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I also really like the overall ambiance. The food comes out in a fairly good time and is always hot and fresh tasting. I usually share two plates with whomever I’m dining with. My go-to lately has been the fried chicken over fried rice special. That’s actually one plate you can share and be pretty full! The thai iced tea is also delicious! I’ve also had the pad thai which is a really good size and has a great lemony flavor! It’s such a treat to have this restaurant in Hilltop!

I don’t get the glowing reviews for this place-is Richmond lacking in good, authentic Thai food? That must be the reason. My friend and I were really excited to try this place due to the excellent Unilocal reviews-was such mediocre Thai food. Everything was just too sweet and not spicy ATALL to appease the non-Thai/foodie palates? We started off with the spicy chicken wings. No spice. Just a lot of the sweet thai chili sauce smothering the wings. The Tom Yum soup tasted too acidic, very tomato-y. Didn’t taste like Tom Yum at all. I got the Drunken noodles-that it was not. Just tasted like blah stir-fried noodles. Not spicy, it wasn’t bad, but nothing to write home about either. My friend got the yellow curry over rice-too SWEET and no spice or curry taste. Overall, a disappointing experience. And while the servers were nice, the intuitiveness was sometimes lacking and we had to practically wave them down.

Had Thai last night(looks like we are in a Thai kick). The specialty version of the potstickers was a great recommendation. David got the fried chicken over rice and says it is ok. More fried than chicken. I had egg noodles with tofu and veggies and was seriously surprised at how good it was! I also had some veggie rolls for appetizer which were only ok. Great service. A surprise for a strip mall. We will likely go back. Oh, and gorgeous inside btw.

While the food was average, the service is too slow. In August, I placed an online order through Unilocal’s Eat24 service. My husband went to pick up the order and they lost the order. My husband waited for about an hour for our food and then they charged him a second time. My husband is the classic absent-minded scientist and forgot that we already paid in full through Eat24(seeing as he already waited for an hour and was hungry). Anyway, a month and half later, when I was balancing the credit card, I saw the duplicate transaction. So, I filed a dispute with my credit card company, which took some time to reverse. Edited 12÷21÷15: I increased the number of stars to 4 stars since the restaurant reversed the duplicate charge. I didn’t give 5 stars because of the wait and credit card headache, but the food was very good and tasty.

Aka Sala Thai. We had been to this location a few years ago and enjoyed the food so we decided to return since we were in the area. Except this time we were met with major disappointment. Service was extremely slow! After ordering it took 30 – 40 minutes to get our food. Not acceptable considering the fact that the restaurant was not full. There were maybe 2 – 3 other tables. Even people who had ordered to-go left because it took way too long to get their food. Items we order: Tom Ka soup: horrible– the broth tasted like a can of coconut milk. Yellow curry: also horrible– the curry tasted strongly of curry flavored paste or powder aka not authentic. Pad Thai: I was disgusted to find a long strand of hair embedded in my noodles. What was more disgusting was the fact that the OWNER walked past me, saw and watched me pull out the long strand of hair and he saw me hold it up and he just walked away ignoring the situation. This shows that the owner does not care about his customers. Overall, this place has gone downhill. The food is not authentic, tastes cheap. Service is slow. And the owner can care less about you. Do not eat here.

Parking — There is ample amount of(free) parking right in front of the restaurant. Food — We started off with the Chicken Satay, which consisted of 4 skewers of tender chicken and tasty peanut sauce. I got the Drunken Noodles, medium spicy. It was plenty of food for such a great price. This was my first time ever trying Drunken Noodles, and I thought it was pretty good. I tried a bit of my friend’s Pad See Ew, which is my usual at Thai places. It didn’t taste as flavorful as I’m used to with other restaurants’ Pad See Ew. Service — It started off slowly, probably because we were in the front corner behind a wall. The waitresses were very attentive afterwards, especially when it came to providing me plenty of water as I tried to combat the spiciness of my food.
