I always stop here for lunch on the way home from vacation in South Carolina. My favorite waitress there was a lady named Shawnee but she wasn’t working the last time I was in. I usually order a triple order of hash brown potatoes covered(with cheese), chunked(ham chunks), diced(with grilled tomatoes) and capped(with grilled mushrooms). I have discovered that you have to order the toppings doubled or tripled, to match the size of your order of hash browns. You can also get the hash browns with Bert’s Chili or Sausage Gravy on top, which I have yet to test fire. And coffee and Alice’s Iced Tea. And a pecan waffle and milk for desert. If you are dining in a place called«The Waffle House» you are pretty much required to have a damn waffle. Okay, that’s a meal pretty heavy on the carbs but after eating that you’re refueled for the next portion of your road trip. Service is always quick and friendly and you can meet many unusual people while dining at the Waffle House.
