I would love to rate this place higher but the prices on most items are just way too high(my friends and I jokingly call this place Macy’s because of the prices). I still come here often though to search for those hidden gems and occasionally find a couple items I «need». The store is in need of quality items donated though. It seems like the only decent items are from target returns(which are sometimes priced higher than clearance prices at target). A lot of the clothing items are very worn and priced as if they are in excellent to new condition(especially children’s clothes). The staff is usually pleasant and helpful and the management is nice. They do have tag sales during the middle of the week where you can get 50% off a specific tag color though so if you are a bargain shopper be sure to go on those days.

This place is pricey for being a thrift store! And I finally found out why. I spotted a 10ft x 10ft canopy tent for $ 75. Using my smartphone I googled the item and found the cheapest one new for $ 75. So I asked the checker behind the register, who comes up with the prices? She told me the manager and asked if something was priced high. So I showed her the results of my online search. She then told me their merchandise comes shipped from Target in Bakersfield and they price it at half the price of Target’s prices. There’s the problem, or at least part of the problem…

Why are thrift stores so pricey these days? Aren’t they supposed to be affordable to low income people? This store wants way too much for their stuff. They are sorely lacking in a lot of categories of items such as books, etc. I’m really disappointed and just won’t go to thrift stores in this town anymore. Shame, shame!

Treasure hunting at its greatest. I found an old bed warmer from the Chicken Ranch(the historic brothel of «Best Little Whorehouse in Texas» fame) for $ 4.50, among the cookware items. Took it home and compared it with others online that look exactly like mine(which people are selling for $ 85 – 95). Either way, it’s going up on the wall. Also found a boxset of «Star Wars» VHS tapes — the cleaned-up version WITHOUT the added CG scenes — for $ 2.25. While it’s not a very big Goodwill, this store is quite clean and prices here are fairly reasonable. Sections are clearly labeled and clothes are on easily navigable racks. We just happened to see it from the road and stopped by a few minutes before they opened. When we got back from a short walk around the shopping center to kill some time, we found no less than 10VERY eager people waiting to get inside the shop like it was a GameStop with a midnight release of a «World of Warcraft» expansion. Well, when there’s great things to discover all over the place, X definitely marks the spot here.
