Every town needs a shop like this. The selection is fantastic. The staffs so friendly and knowledgable. They are always eager to answer questions or discuss their thoughts on various writers. They have a lovely selection of greeting cards, too. This is one of my favorite stores in town.

Indie bookstores are few and far between these days but Books on the Common is not likely to close their doors any time soon. This charming little shop is THE heart and soul of Ridgefield’s Main Street, right down to the creaky wood floors! Here you might bump into a neighbor, the Town Selectman, a local author, or a film actor – this place has something for everyone! While the shop itself is not huge, the inventory is far greater than what you see on the well-organized shelves. As well as popular best sellers, BOTC has an extensive children’s and young adult selection, cook books galore, books on travel, self-help, philosophy, hostess gifts for the avid reader… it’s simply impossible to leave this shop empty-handed! And, the knowledgable, well-read and enthusiastic owners and staff are only too happy to search for hard-to-find or obscure titles with most special orders delivered within a few days. Books on the Common is a must-see stopping point whenever you’re in the area. SUPPORTYOURINDIEBOOKSTORE!

Books on the Common is a great bookstore in the heart of Main St in Ridgefield that provides the community a great place to buy books, meet authors and learn about the latest titles among a friendly and helpful staff. The place is small but boy can they pack in the books. Along with the best sellers they also carry indie publisher books and unique titles. If they don’t have it they will order it for you promptly and if they can’t find it they are honest about that too. They have a great story-time for kids and they have a buy ten get one free on kids books. They also gift wrap for free and have a great selection of cards and some little gifts too. So head over to Books on the Common and support your local bookseller!
