Cellar XV

Doug and Betsy are the best. We were looking for a specialty wine and they ordered it for us in a matter of days. They always have a few tasting items around and many times we add it to our favorites list. They really make it easy because the have a list of the wines we buy and like. So to make up a quick case for the holidays of different items is one two three.
Doug also has recommended a few new beers that they carry I enjoy trying these, as a home brewer its a must. He even saves me bottles so I can recycle them with some new brew

This is a wonderful independent wine and liquor store. I’ve had two great experiences here with both owners.
My first experience I went in looking for a wine to bring to my cousin’s house for a party. I ended up trying a couple of wines they had available for tasting and one was perfect for the party. While talking to the owner and browsing the store, she also provided me a taste of an awesome tequila. I ended up leaving there with the wine, an extremely good bourbon and herb flavored vodkas — all items that were super unique!
My second experience was when I was looking for Herradura Coleccion de las Casa, Scotch Cask, for a friend’s birthday, which I was unable to find anywhere (really, anywhere — even the Internet). When I had asked even my favorite neighborhood liquor store where I live in NYC, they told me to order it, I’d need to buy a case. My friend is great and all, but he’s not getting $ 1200 worth of good tequila. #sorrynotsorry
In any case, I tried Cellar XV knowing from past experience that they have unique items, but unfortunately they did not have it. I have my name and number just in case, but had pretty much given up hope. The very next day I received a call from Doug and he said he had it in hand! I was shocked and thrilled (nothing better than finding the perfect gift) and just went to pick it up this weekend and he had it ready and waiting for me.
I like supporting independent stores regardless, but it’s even better when they are as helpful, nimble, sell such unique items and have such great owners as Cellar XV!

This shop is a gem offering a little bit of hip wine (& liquor) country style in the middle of a strip mall zone. It is definitely worth stopping by. Although they have a high end cellar, they offer a full range and specialize in new & upcoming regions and types that run under $ 20.00. They also carry a nice selection of liquors and mixers as well as decanteurs, glasses, etc. When my husband and I stop by, I cannot leave without a candle or token gift for friends.
They are big supporters of Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue (ROAR) as well as other local organizations. Support your local business & get a tastey wine out of the deal too!
