I work and eat here daily so some of my suggestions include the Avocado and Ham Scramble, our homemade corn beef hash, the potato pancake Benedict and quinoa bowl. On the weekends check in at the register as there tends to be a wait. Hope this helps!

Not my first time eating here but likely the last. Always mobbed on Sunday morning which was expected. Sat at counter, was asked right away if I wanted a cup of coffee but 5 mins later still no cup of coffee. Couple sits next to me, same waiter takes their order for coffee and hot chocolate which they were served ahead of me. Not a big deal but should I have to then request cream and sugar as I wasn’t asked if I needed any? Ok so order my breakfast. Ask for corned beef hash well done and rye toast. Couple to my right gets their food ahead of me again. No surprise my corned beef has NOT well done and no rye toast. I wait to try to get a member of wait staff to send my corned beef hash back but no luck after five minutes I give up and start to eat. Food is already barely warm and I have no coffee left or even a glass of water. I get the attention of waiter ask for more coffee but finally gave up and asked for check. Am I pissed that I paid $ 13.88 for food not prepared as requested? Did I even eat ½ the food on plate, no. When I told the waiter Phil ‘I give up’ did i get an apology NO

Hair in my food. This place is not too clean. The food is average at best. The clientele are all sheep flocking to the«hip» place in town. The wait staff was friendly. The cashier didn’t say a word, nothing. Not even a thank you. The locals are not much better. They are all sprawled out like they own the joint and make you feel like you are intruding on their domain when you just want a seat at the counter. Typical Ridgefield wannabe. Ridgefield has always been a wannabe kind of town. If you like hair in your food then by all means eat here. Just shove the local yokels stuff back to their side and take a seat. UPDATE3÷22÷16: So the owner contacts me to «chew» me out for my honest review. I hope he didn’t loose any hair over it. Don’t worry pal, your place doesn’t require a second visit.

This was our second breakfast visit and we had dinner here once. We love this place, but be sure to get here early for breakfast as the place jams up. I had a really good pastrami Reuben one time. I think I had the biscuits and gravy but honestly can’t remember if I liked or not — I am pretty finicky. Today I had Huevos rancheros and it was excellent! I do not care for the coffee. It was too strong for me, not my thing.

I Love the Early bird. The ambience and staff is warm and inviting. The only place that treats me like a regular every time and brings my hazelnut as I sit down. The food is delish. Breakfast there is my favorite and available all day. I love the blueberry quinoa bowl or just eggs and turkey sausage. Their breakkfast burritos are awesome too. Give em a try! Say hi to Lauren. She is a doll.

Great place for breakfast. The service is good. The menu has all breakfast diner options plus some really interesting ideas like bacon egg and cheese on Belgian waffles. Coffee is reliable and there are seasonal ones like pumpkin in the fall and gingerbread man during the winter holidays. The place is very clean. If you have kids, it’s a good place to bring them. This is a ridgefield staple.

Here’s the deal. A favorite among locals at the counter with regulars having unofficial reserved seating. The staff is very attentive. The place is busy. Kitchen output is average. Food is above average but the most expensive breakfast in Ridgefield is a potential. Lunch is diner style and average. Dinner is fair.

Breakfast fail. Waited for 30 mins for a table then another 30 mins for our waitress. After taking our order our waitress came back to our table 20 mins later and said they didn’t have the ingredients needed to make my breakfast. Lots of staff running around but not a lot of customers eating. For all the time we waited our coffee was only filled once. This was our 3rd time visiting Early Bird Café and there will not be a 4th.

Ate there this morning. I felt the prices were a bit high, but that is standard course for Ridgefield. The food was good, the service was a tad slow although we were sitting outside which might have had an effect on that. The menu looked good and the food was well prepared.

Very friendly, service was fast. The food was hearty and tasty, the omelets were big and hearty. Perfect place to meet up with friends and make a new one. The service here is outstanding. This is a must try stop when in Ridgefield and a weekly or daily place if you live here. RDG Open Group

fast, fairly priced, delicious. other than the occasionally long wait, I’m always in and out and more than satisfied with my breakfast. There are many awesome breakfast places in town, but Early Bird is the best diner.

Cute and quaint. Actually reminded me of a small town luncheonette in VT. I have only had breakfast here, but being gluten free normally doesn’t leave a lot of breakfast options. They had a whole gluten free menu that even included pancakes, english muffins and bread. The service was quick, friendly and extremely helpful. Definitely returning to The Early Bird Café.

Early Bird is my absolute favorite diner in the area. The workers are so sweet and always work around inconvenience(which is very rare.) Food is delicious a few favorites for breakfast: pancakes, quinoa bowl, home fries, omelettes, and so much more. Excellent place to go, but very crowded Friday’s-Sunday’s(very few seats… Needs to extend its space for sure)

I am pretty picky about my omelettes. They’re absolutely delicious here. Good corned beef hash, too. They’re usually very busy but the food is so good, I don’t mind the wait.

I have been here few times and never got disappointed with my orders. Their food is always good and I tried their fried chicken today that it is soooo good! I love it! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I wish I live closer to here, so I can come here more often!

We came back after this hiccup to give this diner a second shot. Waiter remembered us and thanked us for coming again to give him a second chance. He was extremely courteous and the food came out very fast. The quinoa oatmeal was amazing, as were the sweet potato pancakes. The food lived up to its reputation.

We live literally 2 minutes from EBC for 4 years and never went there until today. What a gem! Clean, comfy, hospitable(5x asked is everything ok), fairly priced, everyone hustling and my breakfast– fried eggs, bacon, cheese with French toast sandwich and hash browns all cooked perfectly. Highly recommend and looking forward to trying lunch and dinner!

I think the majority of my love for the Early Bird Café comes from nostalgia. I spent many a high school morning here and this is where we all convened for the first day of Senior year to paint our cars etc. It’s now where I go post-Thanksgiving to catch up with out of town friends when people need to leave early on Friday. They have a pretty robust menu, classic diner style, and they sling their dishes pretty quickly considering the number of customers they have. The staff is friendly and they can greet regulars by name which really always gets me. It’s such a nice touch. As far as the food goes it’s tasty and served warm and is exactly what you’d expect for a diner. They’re not breaking any new ground with exciting flavors or interesting combinations but that’s not what you come here for. If you want a classic small town diner experience for breakfast this is your spot. But be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends as it gets pretty crowded and it can be a bit of a free-for-all to get your name on a list if you’re not aware.

Totally recommend this place for breakfast, their pancakes are simply the best around. Service is surprisingly friendly for a diner. Unfortunately, I’ve never been here for lunch or dinner, so I can’t say anything about that.

There’s a handful of places to get your hangover breakfast on in Ridgefield. In my 14-year veteran opinion, this is the best of the lot. Unfortunately, it’s small… too small. You’d think that once they moved from Copps Hill Plaza, and I mean the OLD Copps Hill Plaza before they rebuilt practically everything, they’d choose a larger location. They didn’t. Sometimes, the waits are higher than desired(i.e. longer than zero minutes), not good when you need the most fattening meal possible to cure what ails you. But it’s worth the wait usually; this is just a solid breakfast and lunch diner. I love any diner that does a We’ll-just-give-you-some-of-everything combo. They don’t disappoint, with«The Hungry Man,» offering bacon, eggs, pancakes, juice, coffee… heck, I can’t even remember the rest… it’s a lot of food, okay? :) Just remember, this is Ridgefield, so it’s only a breakfast/lunch place. You’ll have to go to Danbury or Bethel if you want a 24-hour joint.
