The lady was pretty rude like she didn’t want to serve us because we didn’t order a lot… wish this place was BYOB. Just FYI. Decent food, clean but a lot of MSG for sure

My go to spot for Mandoo Guk. However, the menu is severely limited. Soram shares a parking lot with H mart around the corner. The place with small with seating for roughly 30 people or less. Have tried a couple of items here. I just keep going back to their Mandoo Guk. It comes with 4 large sized Mandoo. They also have steamed Mandoo platter for the same price. Every once in a while, you will see the staff making Mandoo at their corner table. Having these bad boys made on premise definitely makes a difference in the taste. Don’t come here expecting lots of side dishes, because they don’t really give any. They serve kimchi, but that’s about it. If Soram have a more solid menu, it may get another star or so. However, as is, this place is a bit limited. Nevertheless, if you ever find yourself craving for some Mandoo or Mandoo Guk, you know where to go.

Over priced for very small portion appetizers… Especially Chung po muk was tiny amount… way to small portion. Noodle soup dish has no deapth on taste just saltiness on palette in most of dishes.

I am not sure why this place has only 20 something reviews. I have visited this place about 3 times and i have never left with a single complaint or a bad impression. Food is very good and i especially love the pumpkin soup they serve as amuse bouche. It’s so mild baby can have them too. The dumplings are very good too. I ended up buying the pre made dumplings when i was walking out. Everything i tried were all good. Go and try for yourself!

It is small restaurant. The food is very authentic Korean food. Simple but elegant. I love this place. PS. The food here is not southern Korean style which usually means full of fish-saucy or hot-peppery. More of Kyunggi-do style.

My wife and I happened to be in the mall and tried Soram for the first time and was impressed with the quality of the good. You can tell they put extra efforts to make their customer a pleasant experience as what Soram stands for in Korean. Will definitely go back!

This place is conveniently located by H-Mart in Ridgefield. If you haven’t tried this spot and you love Dumplings and other few select authentic Korean food, try here. Items on the menu will be a bit more pricey than an average Korean restaurants but this place serves food like no other. Food is presented neat and place is nothing of fancy or trendy Korean restaurants visited by people in their 20s, but it reminded me of a small, peaceful restaurant in the corner of the food court back in Korean suburb area owned by old lady. Waitress ladies are very polite and attentive, and their in-house, handmade dumplings are hands-down, the best I’ve tried in NJ and NY altogether.

This joint is a beautifully kept secret of deliciousness and authenticity. However, I am making it my mission to expose this secret and get this place some notoriety. Here are the highlights: Giant mandoos filled with tofu pork leeks Amazing bone soup with beef Yummy free amuse bouche apps Super friendly Korean auntie

This is a gem of a Korean place. It’s clean and has a peaceful vibe about it. Everything just feels intentional and has a woman’s touch. Even the dishes were pretty! They don’t give you a slew of banchan(side dishes) but what they do give is delicious and definitely feels like it’s cooked with love. It’s a little pricier than the average Korean restaurant but not enough to be a deterrent, I really loved this place! Perfect for taking the parents or gfs who want a notch above the average but still want to eat out Korean. They even have select dishes prepackaged — we took 20 pc mandoo(dumplings) to go. It was $ 20 I think? But they were the prettiest shaped dumplings I ever did see. haha I’ll update when I try them, they’re still sitting in the freezer as of yet.

Some people don’t know what they are talking about. This place is one of the only clean and healthy Korean restaurants in NJ. They use quality produce and meat so the cost is higher than your typical msg joint. One of the only restaurants that don’t give me a stomach ache after. They put a lot of LOVE into their food. Also The restaurant and food is extremely clean. My favorites are the sullangtang(oxtail soup), yukgaejang(spicy beef soup), bindaedukk(korean pancake), steamed pork, Mandoo(dumplings), and kongbiji. Plus it’s next to Hmart and has tons of parking. Service is always super friendly. Trust me this place is on point. Simple, healthy K food.

Decide to check this place out for dinner since we were craving for some Korean food. Wasn’t sure what kind of Korean food they served so went in to check out their menu. The place was completely empty. Perhaps we were eating a bit early for dinner. Their menu seemed okay so we decided to dine in. The bf had ox knee bones stew(do ga ni tang) an I ordered the rice cake dumpling soup(dduk mandoo gook). We saw they were making the dumplings from scratch when we first walked in so I wanted to see how that would taste. I was glad I ordered it. Their dumplings were huge and meaty. It was delicious. I finished the entire bowl. His soup stew was great as well. Their food was surprisingly tasty, fresh and clean. For some dishes they served us a small bowl of squash jook(congee like) and a small plate of cabbage squid salad and kimchi. Presentation was very quaint. The restaurant isn’t very big. but since their food was tasty, who cares. We will definitely come buy next time to try out their other dishes or again order their dumplings.

Hidden gem of ridgefield, and the perfect place to grab a meal post-or-pre-shopping haul at H-Mart across the street. As much as I love kbbq I love«home style» Korean food even more and am always trying to introduce it to people who are unfamiliar with anything past kalbi and bulgogi. Soram is committed to serving high-quality and traditional meals that turn out to be very healthy and guilt-free by default. They have outstanding mandoo-guk, which is an opaque bone-broth soup with dumplings. If you aren’t feeling soup at least get the dumplings by themselves because they are incredible— thin skin with TONS of filling. No cartilage or crunchy bits at all. Another thing I always get is the bi-bim-bap which is, yes, something every Korean restaurant has, but Soram’s is damn good and they use special kinds of roots and radish you can’t find elsewhere. Their secret ingredient is a sprinkling of toasted and lightly sweetened seaweed, which loads the dish with umami. Amazing!!! Those two are my faves but you can’t go wrong with anything here. They also have the best complimentary side dishes– kimchi(spicy and non-spicy or white versions) and my favorite Hobak-jook(Korean pumpkin soup with dried date on top)

The taste is ok. But, the price is not as good as the taste. I will never come again. It is not worth it.

Have been ordered to go for many times, order Bosam to go today, they forget to put the white cabbage and spicy radish, make sure double check your order before you go. Food quality is great, but some waitresses speak poor English and assume every Asian looking one are Korean, for long term business development, this part needs to be improved.

Love this place! Every thing is so clean and delicious! Price is a little higher than I’d like to pay but worth the price. I wish they offer small dumpling portion for appetizer. Dumpling is the best and so filling, I cannot finish dumpling and another dish.

best authentic korean food in NJ. This restaurant is very famous for dumplings. But my favorite is Yook-Gae-Jang, spicy beef soup.

Wow. Real authentic Korean food in a very random strip mall. This place is a gem hidden away near h mart. Clean flavors, no to little msg, and great prices, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend it, especially their Pork Belly dish(Bo Sam). I will be visiting again soon!

Came here because a) Mitsuwa in Edgewater closes most of their stalls at 8:00p on weekends b) getting a little tired of the usual at Fort Lee and c) H-Mart…H-Mart is right next door. A little more unusual than most places since they did not serve me the usual banchan, the menu is kinda limited(even more limited since they ran out of the red meat, so no Seollongtang for me), and well… their servers are two nice little Korean ladies who barely speaks English… but they more than made up for it in the service… which is as humble and courteous as you can get. The food is excellent — the dumplings(mandoo guk) is large and flavorful, and the soup is elegant without being bland. Price is a little high, but it was well worth it. I’ll definitely come back again.
