Ciara’s Bakery & Cafe

I had a coupon and decided to try this place. It’s in the same strip mall as Little Tokyo and across from Beagle Bagel. This is a nice little place with two rooms. It’s nothing fancy but clean and bright. I ordered 3 orders of wings (15 for $ 10– a deal!) including the «Zeke’s» that they recommended — may not be on the menu, Lava — super hot, and Parmesan Ranch. My boys who love wings said they were all excellent. I tried them — lava was spicy but not miserable, the parmesan were great, but the Zeke’s were everyone’s fav — I think they said they are a mix of bbq, mild sauce, and lemon-​pepper. I also ordered a chef salad that was very good with house made dressings ($ 8) and the $ 5 chicken tender special — 3 tenders and fries. This was also good. Finally, I ordered a bowl of butternut squash soup ($ 5 – 6) and got a very generous serving of delicious soup. For right at $ 50,we had a ton of food. While I was waiting, they offered me a sample of some bourbon balls their pastry chef made. These were divine — a rich cold bourbon filling dipped in chocolate. They were not on the menu, but the owner said they do custom orders.
I loved that they were locally owned and their were a handful of well behaved older children enjoying meals — assuming they were family. Others seemed to be regulars — primarily ordering the plate lunches with fresh vegetables. It was a really sweet environment with a very positive mojo among the employees. The 5 stars is not for a fine dining experience, it’s for really good food, a great price, and great service. We’ll be back.

Greeted warmly upon arrival. Ordered the blue plate special and wasn’t disappointed. Very good, though the collard greens a tad salty. But they were cooked well! The fried chicken was crispy with juicy meat. Two good sized pieces of meat! I ordered black eyed peas as my second side and seasoned and cooked perfectly. Not mushy like some places. the corn bread had a crisp exterior and was moist. So happy I found this place. Not hungry but am ordering an Italian cream cupcake because al the deserts look fabulous and are homemade. My husband would love this place. Too bad he is in meetings today. Oops… ate it all so not even any leftovers

This place is EVERYTHING that you could ever want if you are hungry, looking for GREAT food and FANTASTIC service!!! It is the epitome of FINE southern food!!! The portions are plentiful and the quality is exceptional!!! What makes this special place even more outstanding is their variety in selections. If you can’t find it here, you don’t need it. Wait !!! Did I mention the desserts that they are famous for!!! Duh, bakery is in their name!!! How could I forget!!! The desserts are FABULOUS!!! I have tried the cakes and cupcakes. They both, as well as the food remind me of grandmama’s cooking!!! And my grandmama could BURN in the kitchen!!! (burn is a GOOD thing!!) I highly recommend you to try this restaurant and bring your friends; you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Great variety of Southern Comfort Food and their Cupcakes and Deserts are wonderful. We just met the owner and staff and they are very friendly and helpful. We will be back with friends.
