Deli 2010

I just went in there to buy a soda. Place didn’t look clean. I see a fat cat walking around. Grosses me out. When I go pay the guy at the register is eating and food is falling out of his mouth and this is happening while I’m paying him. Never again

I needed some flowers and I decided to buy some from this place. It’s $ 7 for a dozen of roses, but be warned, the roses you get for $ 7 are wilted and are dyed. These roses are not colorful. While I don’t mind dyed roses, I think they did a poor job with the dye since it wasn’t that nice, but I guess what can you expect for $ 7? When I grabbed my 3 bunches of $ 7 roses (each bunch actually has two dozen), the guy took out 12 for me from each bunch and had to rip off all the old wilted petals =(I ‘ve never seen that done before and I felt ripped off since that means my roses are probably not going to last. My big roses went from big wilted ones to tiny semi-​fresh looking… not sure which is worse =(…
I think I’ll opt for another location for flowers next time. I’d rather pay another $ 1 or two more for fresher flowers.

I’ve been coming to this deli since it opened in 1999 (when I was 10 turning 11… wowww!!!)…
This place never disappoints me… whether it be a bagel for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, or a cold beverage!
As the other Unilocalers have mentioned… the guys who work here ROCK!!! Especially Jose aka Mexico! Even the owner is super cool (he’s in the store working the register from time to time)!
The best thing about this store though is the CLEANLINESS and PROFESSIONALISM… Omgee I can’t stress it enough…
1^st off: bodegas usually tend to be kinda dingy, with a little unorganized look! Nope not this place… it feels like a modern grocery that you would walk into in Manhattan (without the prices ofcourse)!
2^nd: The guys ALWAYS have on their white delicatessan/​meat cutters robes and Boar’s Head baseball caps!

In a land of 1000 bodegas, it’s my favorite. Great sandwiches, good prices, the guys here are friendly and they have a great selection of stuff. The burgers are great, hot sandwiches done well, breakfast is alway made right.

Burgers AND fries. Staying local and want cheap, fast and good? You want a juicy burger and some hell of a kick ass fries, this is the place to go. Yes it’s a grocery store but the two guys here make it as good as it should be. Forget Burger King or McDonalds crap.
