I came here for New Years Eve and was extremely disappointed… beyond disappointed. I looked at the Unilocal reviews before committing to a $ 200 meal. Funny enough I recognized Lisa U. was there… she seemed pretty chummy, almost like family, with the chef… so her opinion may have been biased… who knows! Unilocal can be a funny place. Although Unilocal says this restaurant is closed, it isn’t…it moved around the corner. Our reservation was for around 8:00, and the place was pretty full. From what I hear, their usual menu is actually pretty good. New Years Eve was awful. The appetizer was missing a few ingredients, it wasn’t even very good, but we were having fun chatting with our friends and looking forward to our main dish. Our entrée was small, and covered in fat. We were pretty tempted to get fast food on the way home, but we didn’t want to miss the Times Square ball drop on tv. We felt cheated out of a decent New Years Eve dinner. It was average priced for New Years, around $ 100 per person. I definitely wouldn’t go here again.

Two weeks ago myself, husband and another couple, dined on a Saturday night at the new location. The food was good, zeppoles worth the trip, alone. Service was great especially due to our server, Lauren. However, the noise level was deafening. Part of this was because of the acoustics in the dining room, plus a busy Saturday night. The rest was the fault of the restaurant for booking too many large parties on a single night. I know we will think twice before going on a weekend, again. It is not enjoyable to be jammed in beside the next table and then not be able to hear your dinner companions.

Ok food, nothing special. I went to the old location and really disliked the food but my wife said they had a new chef. Gave it a chance on a Friday night during lent and ordered the shrimp and polenta. It was ok but very bland, needed more spices. The place looks the same as the old natalies, dark and not inviting, I may give it another chance in the future, but not soon.

Nice looking place but that’s where it ended. The food was subpar for what I know these guys can do. Their other restaurant is great. Nothing felt fresh or well prepared. The prices were not fair for the quality.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees. I’ve had many New Year’s Evening dinners prepared by Executive Chef Adam Weiss. This year’s menu was way past fabulous! The picky eater that I am and I could not choose !!! My appetizer of lobster bisque was light fresh full of lobster and truthfully I could have had a second!!! My entrée of scallops was way more than scallops. Also fresh and light. Great service.

Overpriced for what it was. The charred octopus appetizer was delicious but for $ 19 they could have served a larger amount. The Maitre D said that they measure 6 oz. Maybe that’s when it’s raw and full of water. My plate had 3 small pieces. We also ordered fried calamari and there were no tentacles, only rings. NOTE: people like the crunchy tentacles! My arctic char was simply OK, but not appetizing looking. dark, dull. My companion’s shrimp and grits looked overcooked with a dull brown sauce on it that made it look like, well, I won’t say here. With prices this high, I’m used to better cuisine. We won’t go back. There are too many other good restaurants out there.

My wife and I visited Due last night, and neither of us were impressed. We had a reservation for 8:30, and arrived early to request a table against the wall… its a small restaurant and we didn’t want to be next to the door on a cold evening. The hostess told us that we’d have to wait, or we could sit at the undesirable table, but if something opened up in the next 10 minutes, it was ours. Within 10 minutes, two tables against the wall opened up but we were told we couldn’t sit at either table. It didn’t help that our waitress agreed with us that our table was the worst table in the restaurant. On to the food… unfortunately the cranberry walnut butter with bread was our favorite item of the evening. We started with the calamari, which was pretty bland, even though it was highly recommended by our waitress. I had the steak for an entrée… it was chewy, under cooked and not that tasty. My wife had the short rib, and although I enjoyed it, it was a little tough, and my wife didn’t like it. We had the brussels sprouts as a side, and they were unfortunately nothing special. We finished our meal with zeppoles, and they were sweet, tasty but again nothing special. The service was perfectly fine and attentive, we just weren’t impressed with the food…

Was so disappointed! We we both did not like our meals. The calamari was greasy not crisp. The pork ragu was lost on turkey meatballs. The red cabbage was a terrible side dish to the skirt steak(which was overcooked). The the desert was overly fried and not light or flavorful at. Service was very good. Décor and ambiance really needs work. But mostly we were disappointed in the menu and the quality and taste of our food. We really wanted to love it with all the great reviews.

Very disappointing. Service was confused and confusing. Salad was so overdressed. Sides were good. Entrees were ok. The burger had a huge list of ingredients and was so wet it dissolved the brioche bun. If you’re going to have a menu with so many unusual and high end ingredients you need to pull off the dishes and have professional wait staff. Would rather get simpler meal expertly prepared.

We love this restaurant– the food is amazing and the staff is super nice. The menu has something for everyone. The dessert selection alone is a good reason to go there. We’ll keep coming back

Due is one of the best restaurant in Ridgewood NJ The food and service are awesome and one of the best location in Ridgewood. Usually I don’t have time to go out for dinner as I’m a restaurant owner and a chief in Ridgewood but after I heard a lot of good things about Due restaurant and the owner from my customers I decided to give it a try and yes it’s one of the best food I’ve ever had and I’m very glad I did dine there so please avoid heaters and I wish this restaurant the best

Dined here two Friday nights ago. Wanted to sit inside but somehow inside of the restaurant was hotter than it was outside(it was a warm evening). So we started out inside. Pulled my chair out and found food, crumbs, and paper from previous diners. Indoor space is lacking ambiance. Waitress quickly ran over at my request and swept it up. Then, due to the heat and lack of atomosphere,(I don’t think they had AC on), we moved outdoors. Food was expensive and just ok. We frequently dine in Ridgewood and I think there are much better options for the price. Glad we tried it, but wasn’t overly impressed, especially with the indoor space. It is really lacking. Sitting outside is what made the evening(a local street guitarist was playing near the restaurant at the time and it made for a nice vibe). I would have really been disappointed if it was winter and we had to stay inside, it needs more of «something» to make it worth the price. Small restaurants in RWD like Café 37 or Novo do a better job with service and atmosphere to make you feel like it is a night out. Food was ok, service and atmosphere not so great.

A relatively small, eclectic and unusual menu here, so be sure to check it before visiting, lest any in your party wonder why an Italian restaurant has no pastas or veal. Two of their bold signature dishes were liked much more by our friends than us – the shrimp and polenta and the calamari misto. We liked the summer salad and pork chop, our friends also liked the pork saltimobbo, zeppoles, octopus and flat bread. Excellent service; nice atmosphere; many outdoor tables. BYO is a big plus with entrees around $ 30.

Beware when an owner responds to your thoughtful and honest review which provided specific feedback and suggestions, with back handed insults. That’s a sign of desperation. Hey Chris Tarta — I only take time out to write reviews of restaurants that stink — like due. I probably should also write reviews on the many good places in town like Mediterraneo, Cravings, café 37, Sook etc. good luck in that high rent location. You won’t last a year with your lousy food and bad attitude. Your response to my review was unacceptable for an owner and it energizes me to tell everyone I know in the area how bad your place is. I support small local businesses but not run by people like you.

We’ve been here a few times and each time the food and service have been just great… and I think a review is due(haha). For appetizers, we had the wild mushroom soup, which had me repeating«mmmm so goood…» after every taste. We also had the grilled flatbread, which also was amazing. For our entrees we had the branzino and the pork chop, the branzino was really tasty and cooked just perfectly in a tomato based sauce on some kind of grain and white beans. It was delicious and healthy and what I loved most about it was that it wasn’t overly seasoned yet it was full of flavor. The pork chop was very juicy and tender and I was almost able to cut it with my fork. This wasn’t quite so healthy as it was breaded and fried but I guess that was what made it so juicy. The average entrée price is over $ 30 but the portions are quite substantial. Why am I not giving it 5-stars… i don’t really know… it could be the ambiance or the lack of one… we sat outside on the sidewalk which is not dressed up at all(ie. no defined area, flower boxes or canopy, etc.) There was a public bench right across from us(sidewalk distance) and we had different members of the public sit there during the course of our dinner«watching» us and at one point, a couple sat there eating their take-out from Whole Foods. Maybe my review would be different if we had dined inside but we haven’t dined inside in a while so it would be difficult to state with any certainty. Overall… the food is on the pricey side but well worth it … but if you want more of a fine-dining experience, do not sit outside.

The overall ratings can be misleading because of a recent change at the helm in the kitchen. Why hasn’t Unilocal fixed the mobile chronological feature on the reviews? It certainly could save my time! Recent reviews are more favorable with Adam Weiss running the kitchen. And, I agree. I think he’s got the talent to make it one of the hot spots in Ridgewood.

I really liked it! I had the Crab cakes, not too crabby. I mean not too shabby? No really not too old and crabby crab taste. Just yummy. Went in the afternoon on a Saturday — BYOB — so of course I did. Really well thought out food. I had the rhubarb desert, because I never see rhubarb on a menu and I love it. The desert was lip smacking good. Service was great. Outdoor dining.

Due’s new chef, Adam Weiss, is now running the kitchen and delivering the goods! Our group of 6 on a recent Saturday night began with several appetizers. The grilled portabello mushroom was topped with mozzarella, bread crumbs, and pomodoro sauce. There was a great smokey flavor from the mushroom that enhanced the dish. The fried calamari, fried artichoke appetizer was the most popular. The menu mentioned olives but I don’t recall having any. The dish was topped with roasted red pepper and had a lemon caesar aioli on the side. The charcuterie plate was quite nondescript. There were 4 – 5 different meats and 3 types of cheese. I would have liked to see something other than just your everyday capicola, prosciutto, salami etc. My entrée was the house cured pork chop with a strawberry-rhubarb compote, balsamic reduction, and potatoes. The compote was not overly sweet and enhanced the chop. This was a huge portion that I could not finish. I enjoyed the dish very much and would order it again. The restaurant was quite busy and the service was excellent. Things have change tremendously, for the better, since my review in June 2013. I look forward to returning in the near future.
